Dan Howell has been on the streets of Lower Manhattan since he was twelve, and he believes that will never change. Wake up, wait at the gate, see the headline, sell papers, take care of his community, repeat. Until one day a northern boy appears in Newsies Square and sends his once stable and safe life into something unfamiliar to him.
I got no use for moonlight, or sappy poetry.
Love at first sights for suckers, at least it used to be.
No, I never planned on someone like you.

We're the guys who made your daughter's hair blue. That's us. We're the person that made them a boy. Maybe they are a 'them' now, but you've got to love them because if you don't, we will and that is a threat.
-Daniel Howell, 2024
Dan Howell irreversibly has changed the way I speak since I was like 12. What do mean I keep saying literally and actually every other sentence.

⚠️ SPOILERS BELOW FOR GOOD OMENS SEASON 2 ⚠️
so we already know that Crowley has seemingly gotten his ideas of how love with humans "works" from rom-coms, with his "sudden downpour" and "they realize they were meant for each other," whereas Aziraphale references romance novels with the formal dancing and realizing they're "deeply in love."
we saw the "rain" both in season 1 AND 2 when Crowley and Aziraphale shelter under each other's wing in each opening scene. and they dance during the party in the bookstore.
BUT earlier in season 2, after the coffeeshop scene where A and C originally brainstorm how to make Maggie and Nina fall in love, Crowley mentions in the shop that once they have a "fabulous kiss" that'll work it all out.
so we have not one, but TWO scenes of sheltering in the rain, but it doesn't get them together. they dance, but they still don't get together. that leaves (in Crowley's mind, I think) one thing to finally convince people that they love each other: a kiss.
in his desperation for Aziraphale to not go to Heaven with Metatron, what does he do? he kisses him. it's his last-ditch attempt, his "if all else fails," but it still doesn't work. he's tried everything he knows and Aziraphale still leaves. and I think that hurts him just as much as A actually leaving, because maybe he thinks he really doesn't understand love at all.
I apologize for that. anyone have any thoughts on this painful headcanon? or am I way off here...
