Me at 14 and me at 22 are having a bonding moment

My brother in Christ we know he sleeps with his mouth slightly open
He snorts in his sleep sometimes
That even tho his belongings are falling apart the knots and stitches he puts around things are meticulously neat and tidy (controlling what he can control)
That after a full moon he’s so exhausted he can sleep all day
His voice is hoarse
He can do (or at least it’s implied) wandless magic to create flames
His first response to an attacker is to talk to it (and be real sassy with it)
He’s competent enough to get rid of said attacker
He gives away the cure to dementors but doesn’t seem to eat any himself
He smiles a whole lot, considering
He can go from asleep to perfectly alert in seconds
He’s sickly looking to the point “a good curse would finish him off”
He’s likely thin
He has his name on his suitcase but the lettering is old and worn suggesting he’s been called Professor before (likely as a joke but we can’t tell that quite yet)
He looks young despite grey hair, it’s noticeable that he’s been prematurely aged
He’ll take responsibility and check in with the driver
He’ll write to pomfrey to tell her that a student is hurt
And this is just Chapter 5 of PoA- when he’s asleep for 90% of the chapter! Imagine the shit we get when he’s awake
look at me in the eye and tell me that’s not remus and regulus having a cute platonic moonwater moment and then there’s sirius in the back cursing and hating them
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz etc

I cant stop thinking about The Boy and the Heron.
It's horrifying. It's fantastical. It's tragic. It's beautiful. It's hopeful.
It's about grief. It's about family. It's about war. It's, "You don't have to walk the same path your ancestors did." It's "Your lived experience builds a world as deserving of your attention and care as your inner world" and "You inherited a flawed world, and you are flawed, and that is still beautiful" and "I made this beautiful thing and it's ending and that's just how it goes, but wasn't it beautiful?"
It makes me think about the worlds we make within ourselves and how they can be entrancing and wonderful even as they lead us to walk deeper into ourselves and away from those around us. It makes me think about connection, about how love can be so flawed sometimes but it is still something we need to hold onto. It asks "What if the monsters never asked to be monsters?" and "What if things can die before they're even born?"
It's about not being afraid of fire, not being afraid of endings, not being afraid of the world falling apart, of pain, of walking away, of reconciling, of finding new family and new love even as you mourn and miss what you lost.
It says, "Beautiful, wonderful things end, but afterwards, you can go home."
I'm going crazy.

daily reminder that at the age of thirteen ron weasley was dragged inside what he believed to be the most haunted place in the entire britain by somebody he believed to be a mass murderer on the loose and stood on a broken leg to shield harry from said murderer. he was thirteen absolutely terrified and injured and he stood up to a convicted murderer to protect harry. i have never in my life doubted why he was the person harry would miss most
