the first time you come into contact with luffy, you quite literally run into him.

oof! a force that knocks you to the ground, and you're so dazed that you can only goggle at your perpetrator. a worn straw hat, a scar under the eye, a kind and mischievous gaze, and an extended hand like a sheepish apology.

you step over a fallen log, pretty sure that you didn't see that hollow tree on your way to the well. nothing looks familiar, but then again, it is getting dark.

it's silly that you used to think his hands felt rough when they always hold you so softly. in your head, you like to think that it's because you could be special to him.

it's not the first time you've held hands, but when he gives you a light squeeze, instinct propels you to look up at him. surprised, you realize that he's looking at you with a tender look that you've never seen before.
