Absolutely criminal that nobody told me that Sherlock Holmes canonically doesn't know how the sun works.

Stupid story idea: a bunch of famous fictional detectives are all on a boat cruise or train ride when a murder happens, but the real obstacle is all of their egos and/or idiosyncrasies causing what would be a fairly normal case for any one of them to become an utter clusterfuck instead.

Highlights include:

- Hercule Poirot and Benoit Blanc both seeing through each other’s acts of using their accents to seem harmless, but neither calls each other out for fear of mutually assured destruction. Their accents get even more pronounced when talking to each other as a result.

- Sherlock just chilling in the corner microdosing before the inciting incident, notices the little Conan boy acts way too much like an adult, but doesn’t bring it up because someone commented on the microdosing and rankled him.

- Adrian Monk meets Columbo. That is all.

absolutely in love with this chaos of a SP illustration in particular because watson is so. desensitised. to holmes' theatrics

this is like the third time holmes has knocked shit over (water pot, table with fruits, you name it) so he's just completely dead faced. confused? yes. but not entirely surprised when he turns around only to find that holmes has fucked off somewhere else to pursue the case. cat behaviour.

and then holmes proceeds to almost get himself killed because of course he does

Okay so... in The Blanched Soldier, Holmes calls Watson an 'ideal helpmate'.

'Ideal helpmate', at the time, was a synonym for spouse.

He is calling Watson his spouse.

Lestrade- Small, rat-faced man.

I am so tired of people thinking Watson is this nothing, that he's just Holmes' sweet little BFF, that he doesn't contribute much except writing the stories, or being in the room, or whatever.

Guys, gals, nonbinary pals, let me introduce you to John H. Watson, lately of the Army Medical Department (from "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton"):

His first instinct to keep the odious snake Milverton from leaving was to THROW A FUCKING CHAIR AT HIM in sheer outrage. And that IS Watson. Always ready to throw down in defence of friends or strangers at the earliest opportunity, if the need arises.

What an icon.

Fav Johnlock bit of ACD Canon is that Holmes 1) asked Watson to sell his doctor office and to move back in with him into 221b and 2) was then the one who bought Watsons office (using a distant cousin as a cipher) so Watson would move in with him again quickly… and was ready to pay any price, even though Watson asked for A LOT

Holmes really said: „Take my money babe! Just move in with me again. I miss you.“

Why does no one talk about how in 1827 Crowley was like “Hey angel meet me at this grave yard at midnight 😘 I want to show you something 👀😏”

and Aziraphale just said “tehe 😍 ok 🥰😉”

My cats have this meow that means "please come with me to fix this" after which they'll lead me to the problem in question, usually a empty (or 'empty') food bowl or a closed door they want open. They look at the 'problem', they look back at me, clear message.

What fascinates me is how this illustrates what they percieve as being in the realm of my 'power.' I control the food, I control the door, sure, but my cats love to sit on the balcony in the sun, and it has happened plenty of times that on a rainy day they come get me, go to the balcony and show me... the rain. "Please fix this" they say. "Please get rid of the wet"

"Silly kitty," I say, "I can't control the rain." I then walk into the shower and turn on the rain.

Soo as I haven’t yet brought it up I highly enjoy Good Omens as well as Sherlock Holmes but I was having my silly little the thoughts and I like connecting my sillies. So tumblr here’s my headcanon

So I like to believe that in the Good Omens timeline the two lovelies(Aziraphale & Crowley) inspired the creation of Holmes & Watson. Both are based in London. Crowley inspired the tall lanky Sherlock and Aziraphale was his book nerd Watson. Even the descriptions are similar enough to base a character off of.

Update I’m scared to finish my book as I don’t want Sherlock to end
