Don't get me wrong, but isn’t Esteban at least 40 years older than her? Ha ha, just joking!  I know you're asking which one was born first, I get it. I think it was probably Esteban and he was born about a year before she was. But that's just my headcanon.

What gave you the idea on Victor and Ixlan becoming friends?

Hi Anon, months ago when The Lightning Warrior came out I was really pleased and inspired by it (I still love that episode, it's probably my favorite). So then I started thinking about how, in a way, their current situations were kind of similar. Both of them had been magically sealed away and out of the loop for quite a while (relatively speaking) before they were both added to team Elena. And afterwards I feel like both of them would have some difficulty adjusting to it, so they would have that in common.

Even though they were reformed, people would still probably be pretty wary of Victor and Carla since they were wanted criminals for so long, so it would probably take quite a while for most people to warm up to them. But Ixlan wouldn't have that problem, the first time she met them they both saved her from imprisonment and then saved her again from a giant monster. (Also I like to think that after the battle with the Moyacu they finally had lunch, and even though the food was kind of cold by then, Ixlan really enjoyed it. And she probably drank it straight out of a pot without a spoon after they had gotten their own bowls because why not? It's faster that way.).

Elena of Avalor Appreciation Week Tuesday: Darkness and Light

I decided to paint a watercolour picture of the spirit tree for this prompt because unlike most afterlifes, the EoA spirit world transitions from the place where the dark spirits live to the light all on the same giant tree.

"Well you see captain it is an old Earth celebration to watch movies and shows from the series known as Star Wars on this date each year. This is because throughout the stories many characters use the phrase 'May The Force be with you' as a sign of wishing health and good fortune to whoever they say it to, not unlike the Vulcan's 'Live long and prosper.' This phrase alludes to The Force which is the foundation of their spiritual belief system. Many people on Earth realized that the date on the Gregorian calendar known as May the 4th could resemble that phrase by changing the word 'forth' to 'Force,' it is seen as a clever play on words, Captain.'

"Have you ever seen the movies before, Sir? Mr. La Forge and I are planning on throwing a "watch party" in Ten Forward starting at 16:00 after our duty shifts end, and I invite you to come if you wish. Commander Riker and Counselor Troi will be wearing 'cosplay' of Han Solo and Princess Leia, two of the main characters from the movie, so there will be a casual dress code for the event. I have also prepared a variety of Star Wars themed drinks with Guinan, for those who arrive."

"Thank you for the invitation Mr. Data, I would very much like to attend. I have actually seen the movies before and enjoyed them quite a lot, but I haven't seen them for, oh, many years now, so it would be nice to watch them again."

"Very good sir, I will let the others know you are coming."

Today, Data watched the ancient Earth movie "Star Wars."

I mentioned that political stuff in the last post but somehow I forgot to mention Naomi! Since she’s Chancellor, she's in the middle of the kingdom's politics, so she'd be at Elena's side for all those possible incidents, giving her advice and support. 

Naomi finally getting to travel around as Chancellor and visit the other kingdoms on political business would be nice. Because then she could live her dream of sailing around the world even more, but she'd be earning money while doing it. Plus, she has Elena by her side so it's a win-win-win!

Also, I want to see her hire a staff and establish more government positions in the Kingdom. I mean who's even maintaining Nuva Vista now that Cristobal is gone? So she sets up a more detailed federal and municipal government systems that are still ultimately ruled by Elena but now the people can be heard even better. Because the Queen just can't be everywhere at once, even if she has magic. (Now that I'm thinking about it, she would probably try an “everywhere at once” spell first before they did this). I would find it entertaining, but most people probably wouldn't so it would likely be done in the form of multiple upbeat musical montages, or off screen. 

For Mateo, I'd like to see him teaching his magic classes. Maybe him leading the guards in a training exercise on how to properly use magic against villains, monsters, or natural disasters. (More of Mateo fighting stuff with cool magic). Plus Mateo training Olivia, Carla, and Victor on how to help people using magic. Just a whole episode where they're just going around town and solving problems with magic, (and at one point they sing a cool theme song they've made up for themselves in an 80s style montage)!

 It would also be fascinating to watch Mateo learning more complex Master Level spells. Maybe even the most elusive one of all, a healing spell! Perhaps he could go through an arc where he finds more permanent solutions to some of their monster problems. Keeping the monsters in jars & books only means that eventually they might escape, and then you'll just have to hunt them down again. So why not find a way to safely reform them? Kizin could get to see his friends again!

“I didn’t realize just how much time had passed…”

I've seen fan designs of malvago!Mateo before which are all very fun and very dark, so I wanted to share my vision of him (and Olivia) as well!

All malvagos in the show seemed to have some kind of animal motif and when I was thinking about what animal he would have I headcanoned that maybe a malvagos’ motif is determined by what animal their chanul is. Then I thought about Mateo with big sleeve claws and decided that was perfect. (Sloths are normally solitary and nocturnal, which fits Mateo as well). 

Those fake claws used to be made out of metal but with his clumsiness he realized it was too dangerous for himself and changed them to silver coloured cloth. 

Olivia has an axolotl motif because I think that axolotls are cool. I'm sure it would factor into her magic somehow as well, like if she was in a fight and got hurt she would be able to quickly heal and regenerate stamina.
