This is me rn.(I'm not even joking,I'm look like this rn even if I was awake from sleep)(I have that eyebag)
I know whay The Simpsons looks like compared to ML is chronology.(Correct me if I'm wrong)
The Simpsons(kinda but usually)doesn't have the chronology but ML DOES have the chronology.(and that's the same thing with timeline)
You making this tweet just to evade yourself and throwing bullshit like this.
You are no-brainer egomaniac asshole,Thomas. You should do better.
Yet another common criticism and source of debate fans have with Miraculous Ladybug is the inconsistency of the timeline. In the first season alone, there have been episodes taking place during the first day of school, the first day of Summer, Valentineās Day, and Christmas if youāre counting the first special. Well, someone on Twitter decided to ask Astruc about the timeline of the show, and he gave easily one of the more mind-boggling responses Iāve seen him give.
Okay⦠thatās a lot to unpack here. For one thing, The Simpsons is nothing like Miraculous Ladybug in several ways. While there are callbacks to previous episodes, The Simpsons isnāt a story-driven show. At the end of the day, almost every episode ends with things back to normal, with no real changes to the status quo. Even with the whole ācharacters never ageā thing, itās to keep with the status quo and what has been established since 1989, and they still give characters consistent backstories, like Sideshow Bobās desire to kill Bart as revenge for foiling his schemes.
Miraculous Ladybug is a show with several ongoing story arcs and character development (supposedly). It makes sense to at least have a consistent timeline to base your show around. And once again, Astruc has switched to the āStop thinking too much!ā defense for his show. Do you want it to have continuity or not, Astruc? If you want to have more story in your show, you need to have a consistent timeline to base it on. But then again, this is the same show that thought it would be a great idea to put the origin story at the end of the first season. Because that wonāt confuse new viewers, right? After all, it worked for Power Rangers Samurai, didnāt it?
One person pointed out that even if there isnāt a chronological series of events, time is still passing. Itās been at least a few months since the the events of the series began in-universe, so surely, they have to move on to high school, or at least the next grade, right?
Not according to Astruc.
So Astruc is basically saying heāll change the status quo when he feels like it. And of course, he uses Love Square drama as an example of what he could do.
Another Twitter user asks if theyāre going to stay the same age for the rest of the series, and Astruc gives yet another response that misses the point of the question entirely.
Thatās not what they meant, and you know it, Astruc! Nobody actually thinks thereās been a spell placed on Marinette and Adrien that will stop them from aging. Theyāre asking if the characters will actually age. Either that, or they want to know if there will be any kind of progression in the plot or the timeline.
And not long after this, Astruc goes back into āItās supposed to be complicated!ā mode.
So at the same time heās admitting the show barely has anything to get invested in, Astruc is once again claiming that his show is incredibly complex. Yes, Miraculous Ladybug so complex, its creator thinks it doesnāt even need a consistent timeline.
Thomas,if you don't make Marinette/Felix(even though I don't like him)/anyone(who wasn't akumatized yet) in this show akumatized,I might tied and glued myself in the French Embassy in KL or go to Paris at your workplace.(That just my idea)
That's my act to protest among other things is the issue that surrounding the ML fandom rn.
In the past three seasons of Miraculous Ladybug, Marinette has been through a lot. In addition to struggling to convey her feelings to Adrien, she has also fought several supervillains on a weekly basis, been subjected to all kinds of humiliation, and has had her friendships tested thanks to Lilaās lies. Despite all of this stress, Marinette still hasnāt akumatized, though she came close in the episode āLadybugā (Hawkmoth was forced to abort his plan at the time). But because she was so close to becoming an Akuma, fans naturally wondered if this was only a taste of what was to come.
So someone on Twitter raised the question if Marinette would ever actually be akumatized. By this point, you can guess how Astruc responded.
As usual, despite being polite in the way this person phrased their tweet, Astruc acts like theyāre being ridiculous to even suggest something like that. And honestly, Iām surprised this tweet hasnāt gotten more criticism from the Miraculous Ladybug fandom. Like, I think itās up there with the stuff he says about Chloe, itās that bad.
I mean, how can any writer say something like āThatās a difference between an idea and a storyā with a straight face? The difference between an idea and a story is that a story is simply an idea fully realized. Thatās it. This is like saying thereās a difference between a recipe and an apple pie. Oneās still a page in a cookbook, the other is for dessert at Thanksgiving dinner because someone followed the recipe from said cookbook.
At the same time, Astruc barely explains why Marinette getting akumatized wouldnāt work. What does he even mean when he says to think about when Hawkmoth talks to Marinette? Does he think sheāll immediately hand over her Miraculous to him before going after Cat Noir? Does he think Cat Noir isnāt able to stop Marinette should she get akumatized? What is he trying to say here? Itās not like someone with a Miraculous canāt be akumatized.
Someone brought up the fact that not only has Cat Noir been akumatized (As well as Carapace, Rena Rouge, and Queen Bee), but since the Rabbit Miraculous has the power of time travel, they really arenāt bound by anything, especially since the whole plot of āCat Blancā was that Bunnix helped to undo the timeline where he was akumatized.
And what does Astruc say in response to this? You wonāt believe it. The lack of self-awareness is purely mind-blowing here.
Yes. He actually claims that his show isnāt just spinning its wheels by doing the same thing over and over again. How can he think something like this, when he literally had two separate episodes in Season 3 that were about Marinette and Adrien figuring out each otherās identities and then undoing that massive plot development by the end? Are you telling me that isnāt deceptive?
Astruc, how can you, as a creator, say what can and canāt be done? You canāt tell me that not a single person thought the concept for Miraculous Ladybug was ridiculous. If someone did, it obviously didnāt stop you from going ahead and making your show. For Godās sake, a big part of what got people interested in Miraculous Ladybug in the first place was the concepts introduced in the show, like the Love Square and Hawkmothās Akumas. There are a lot of fans who outright think the actual show is garbage, and consider several fan works to be far superior, like @miraculouscontentās LadyBugOut AU, or @zoe-oneesamaāās Scarlet Lady comic. Do you know why they made those? Because they had an idea (both ironically based on the showās poor writing), thought about it, and converted it into a story.
But then again, I donāt think Iāve ever heard of a TV show where the main hero was brainwashed to work for the villain while the other characters have to stop themāOH WAIT.
Yes, arguably one of the most iconic episodes in television history, āThe Best of Both Worldsā from Star Trek: The Next Generation follows a similar premise to what Astruc thinks can never happen. In case you live under a rock and havenāt seen Star Trek, this episode is about Captain Picard getting assimilated into the hive mind of the Borg, forcing Commander Riker and the rest of the crew on the Enterprise to step up to stop the Borg from using Picardās knowledge of Starfleet to assimilate Earth.
This episode is often considered by many Trekkies to be the pinnacle of the entire franchise in its 54 year run, and the drama of Picard being assimilated is one of the key reasons. Without the Enterpriseās fearless leader, thereās a level of uncertainty to the situation, best reflected in Rikerās reluctance to take charge as the new captain. It was even more interesting to see the crewās struggle to choose between defeating the Borg or saving Picard. Thereās a reason why the cliffhanger at the end of the first part was so shocking, as it showed Rikerās development and willingness to do whatever it takes to save the day, even if it means possibly killing Picard.
Youāre telling me we canāt get anything like that with Cat Noir or any of the other heroes if Marinette gets akumatized?
Hell, thereās also a lot of narrative possibilities that could come from Marinette dealing with the trauma of being Akumatized. She could mentally berate herself for letting this happen to her, claiming this shouldnāt happen and how she almost got everyone killed while working for Hawkmoth.
You know, like what the episode after āThe Best of Both Worldsā did with Picard emotionally venting to his brother.
How come that canāt happen because of what Hawkmoth says to Marinette?
Oh, wait! I get it now! āThe Best of Both Worldsā is an actual story, but thinking about Marinette getting akumatized is just an idea because it hasnāt become an actual story yet. It all makes sense now!
Then in that case, I guess these are just ideas as well.
My gosh,it is the same picture.
They're the same picture.
This is what happened when you take this issue too literal and too far.
Even worse, the creator of the show is jumping on the fucking bandwagon.
My condolence to the girl's family.
I don't like Lila but I know some(maybe mostly)like her because she made the progress to the plot and I don't cyberbullying those people(same with Felix).
But this is make me sad to see it like......heart broke.
It's your choice who do you like even if the person is evil.
My advice is do not cyberbullying everyone even if they like the antagonist(s) and do not be a toxic person, offline and online.
We can make this world a better place, not just Miraculers but everyone.
Please,I'm begging you,if you want to bash someone with a hate comment online(and even offline),think twice and remember what happened to this poor girl.
May the girl rest in peace.

Me:
Well, of all the things I thought would happen in the hundredth episode of the series, āEphemeralā, I certainly didnāt expect this to come from it.
For those who arenāt aware, the recently aired episode had a scene where Ladybug explained how time zones work to Cat Noir for her plan to save the day during the final act, and to represent one of the later time zones, a simplified image of what looks like Japanās Rising Sun Flag was used. As a result, a lot of Korean fans were upset, as they viewed the Rising Sun Flag as a symbol of Japanās imperialistic past and their treatment of Koreans during the formerās occupation in the early 1900ās (NSFW, but look up ācomfort womenā to see what their treatment was like), to the point where the flag has been compared to the Nazi swastika in terms of being a negative symbol.
To be fair, itās hard to say who did this, and Iām not entirely sure if Astruc himself was behind it as he isnāt an animator, so itās entirely possible someone else was responsible for this, or it could have just been an animation error. Thereās also the fact that the debate on the use of the flag has been very controversial because of how it all started (while Japan and Korea have always had a tense relationship, some argued the debate around the Rising Sun Flag started around ten years ago when a Korean soccer player used the presence of the flag in a stadium to explain him making a racist gesture during a game against a Japanese team, when other reports say it was supposedly a mask that resembled the flag, Koreans have still had a tense with Japan for a while, not helped by the things Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said trying to downplay the things Japan did to Korea). But still, the point is whether or not you actually agree with the protest of the flag, several fans, many of them Korean, as in the ones who felt personally offended by the image, were still angry at Astruc, and took to Twitter to protest and politely ask him to address the controversy.
And according to some later tweets regarding the flag, Astruc responded by blocking anyone who questioned him about it.
Itās kind of sad that Winny Pain, as in the dude who once drew NSFW art of the two underage leads, came across as the better person here, as he actually bothered to address the backlash to the episode in a simple way while not belittling anyone in the process.
He basically said, āLook, we get what happened with the flag, we realize we screwed up, and weāre not going to brush it under the rug.ā Less than three lines of text, and he managed to at least somewhat apologize for the flagās presence, even if he didnāt actually say that he or anyone else on his team was sorry.
What did Astruc say when he finally acknowledged everyone calling him out for blocking everyone who brought up the flag to him?
Instead of actually explaining what happened with the flag, Astruc went on a tangent about how he always gets treated unfairly by people online, and thatās why he blocks anyone who doesnāt blindly praise him or his work. Letās go over all the flaws with his argument here.
Friendly reminder: I donāt block people because Iām a Nazi. I block people because when youāre followed by hundreds of thousands of people, you receive DAILY hundreds of messages from people pissed for whatever reason.
I canāt believe I have to say this, but nobody is calling you a Nazi, Astruc. The closest thing to that claim is that people have compared the Rising Sun Flag to the Nazi swastika due to the similarities Japan shared with Germany while they were allies (as rocky as their relationship was) during World War II.
Also, funny how youāre downplaying the reason so many people are pissed at you. Like I just talked about, many people found the image of the Rising Sun Flag, which has been associated with one of the darkest periods in Korean history, to be offensive, and all youāve done is block them instead of at least trying to explain yourself. Was it an animation error or something like that?
I donāt care if theyāre right or wrong. Itās just physically impossible to deal with, as my account is not a corporate one, handled by multiple CM. If I had to, itād be a full time job, and itād just endanger my mental health.
If youāre so tired of being harassed by people on Twitter, toxic or not, why donāt you just set your account to private so you can approve anyone who tries to follow you so they donāt send you negative feedback?
Itās also pretty rich that youāre citing your mental health when several abuse victims have come forward to my blog to say how much they felt hurt by the things youāve said to downplay the emotional abuse Adrien and Chloe have gone through while comparing the latter to an abuser, or how that every character in your show who doesnāt immediately move on from mental trauma is a villain. And donāt forget all the times youāve insulted or blocked anyone whoās criticized your show, including the people who have a problem with the Rising Sun Flag right now. What, does their mental health not matter somehow? How exactly can we take your claims about your mental health being in danger when youāve ignored the mental health of people in your show and in real life?
On social networks, people who want to complain are always more vocal than people who want to share positive things. Anonymity and distance makes it easy for some people to shift and behave in a toxic way.
Seriously? You seriously said that? Are you in any position to claim you havenāt been ātoxicā to anyone online? Because newsflash, I kind of have a little evidence for that.
Like I keep saying, people are complaining because of the use of a symbol that is a very touchy subject for a certain group of people in the East.
As I want to be able to keep on interacting with the nice people here, and donāt penalize them because of the behavior of a minority, blocking is unfortunately the only way to do so.
And by ānice peopleā, Iām assuming you mean the people who donāt question the writing of your show. Look, I get it. I can understand how upsetting criticism can be, and the way a lot of people have phrased their problems with the writing has been insulting. Iāve also been somewhat harsh with some of my criticisms of several episodes like āQueen Bananaā and āRocketearā, so I can see where youāre coming from when youāre talking about critics.
I know that there are probably a lot of people on this site who donāt agree with what I do (Iāve also seen a handful of posts questioning the effort I put into talking about one person), and Iām personally still trying to make peace with that, to try and move on while still taking concerns like that into consideration. Believe me, I know itās not the same as your work, but I get stuff like this can be tough.
But sometimes, you need to be criticized in order to help you get the ideas needed to improve your work. It isnāt just a writing thing, but something we need in everyday life. While I canāt say for certain how many critics are people who just love harassing you, I can assure you Iām not one of them (and if anyone reading this thinks I am, tell me on how I can improve), and I feel like youāre underestimating the amount of people who actually give constructive criticism to help you.
I believe in dialogue and education. Sadly, experience taught me it is not possible here. I block people because they donāt come at me to discuss. They only come at me to have their views validated in any ways.
You know what? Fair point. This is a common mentality people on the internet share. The problem is that you can be just as guilty of this at times, especially when talking about Chloe and how stupid people are for daring to think sheās not as bad as the actual main villain.
So here we are: yes, I block whoever who want to mess with me. Whatever the reason. Because itās the only thing possible here to preserve whatās worth: sharing with people positive energy. And I donāt feel guilty about it.
If by āmess with youā, you mean ācall out problematic aspects of the show I work on even though I claim to be a progressive writerā, then yeah, I get it. Itās one thing if people are sending you death threats or say you donāt deserve to be a father, because those people are assholes who deserve your scorn. Itās another thing to ignore people who think your show is offensive to certain races and put them in the same group as the aforementioned assholes.
I know some wonāt understand, disagree, use it as a proof Iām the Devil incarnated. Thatās exactly the reason why Iāve been forced to do this.
I donāt understand, I disagree, but not once did I think you were the Devil incarnate. My problem is with you as a writer, not as a person. I do think this is proof that you canāt really take any form of criticism, constructive or not, and will block anyone who disagrees with you. As much as the people who call you names like āThomas Ass-Truckā can be insulting, that doesnāt make them the same as other critics who word their criticisms in a calm and rational way.
I donāt work to please everybody. If I did, Iād do cartoons based on surveys, which would probably end up with puppies driving cars. Iām not on social networks to be popular. Unlike YouTubers, singers or actors, Iām not my own product. I wouldnāt be less happy if I was unknown.
I guess now we can add Paw Patrol to the list of popular cartoons you think your show is better than. Is it because that show actually has a consistent toyline, unlike Miraculous?
And didnāt you use surveys as justification for Chloeās arc, saying kids understood it perfectly according to the surveys you supposedly gave them?
Itās amazing how almost so many points I can use to refute your defense relates back to something youāve said about Chloe.
Plus, if you want to separate your personal account with the Miraculous Ladybug related stuff, why not just create another account to answer questions related to the show like the Miraculous FAQ Twitter account, which is also private?
Iām here to share positive things with people who love the show. (Except spoilers) Thatās all and thatās all that will be.
Translation: Iām here to be praised by fans online while telling them how wrong their differing opinions and fan theories are. Thatās all and thatās all that will be.
But the thing is, weāre not even done yet. Itās time to talk about whatās arguably the saddest part of this whole debacle. Itās one thing for Astruc to block a bunch of strangers who question the use of the flag, but this controversy actually led to Astruc blocking one of his close friends.
If you remember in my LGBT representation post (as in the one I personally feel like I could have done better with instead of blaming Astruc for things that could have easily been the result of executives screwing with his work), I mentioned that the character Marc was based off a close friend of Astrucās, Hope Morphin.
While we donāt know much about their relationship, itās clear if Astruc was willing to base a character in his show off a friend of his, it must mean their friendship was very deep. Unfortunately, After being made aware of the flag, Morphin themselves (Hope is genderfluid, so Iām using gender neutral pronouns) questioned the inclusion of it, and got blocked for their troubles.
From what we know, they just learned about the controversy, they mentioned their feelings on the matter to Astruc, and then they got blocked after that. Granted, we donāt know if there was a private conversation through message or in person before the block, but let it be said here that Thomas Astruc would rather cut off all ties with a close friend of his rather than acknowledge a controversial moment in his show.
Morphin later talked about the block, and they just seemed so hurt by it when explaining it to others. Their friendship with Astruc clearly meant a lot to them, and now theyāre wondering if he even liked them in the first place.
And on top of that, they decided to delete their Twitter account entirely afterwards.
Even though I know nothing about what their friendship was like, this was just heartbreaking for me to go through. I try my hardest to separate the work from the artist and never criticize Astruc as a person, but Iām just dumbfounded at learning about all of this. Whether or not Astruc played a part in the inclusion of the flag, the fact of the matter is that this shows just how stubborn Astruc can be. I understand that he probably isnāt responsible for the flag problem, but heās still choosing to ignore the fallout from anyone who questions him, including one of his own friends.
That's applied to me but I kinda can understand a litte bit or some like Russian and Ukrainian(maybe more).
Hey as your bilingual you could help me with something. If a guy you were with tried to learn your language, how would you react? I had a chapter planned. and I think If Dustin said it in Japanese it would be more effective.
I would LOVE to help him learn my language
There is a thing I want to say about this thing:

Malay and English,sometimes Indonesian.
I'm looking forward to learning new languages.(Need help, please)
What language do you think in?
Sometimes, people have their own flaws and that includes Marinette but there is time to change their behaviour.Yeah,I know that Marinette was a creppy stalker but there is time that she can change herself.
Seeing the Ladybug hate on Instagram thanks to the Kuro Neko trailer has really upset me. For goodness sake, she is 14 and has been through a lot in the past year. Besides, the episode hasnāt aired, there are plenty of episodes to come and Adrien and Mari are endgame. Conflict tends to lead to resolution and maybe this Ladynoir conflict will lead to Adrien and Marinette growing closer which subconsciously helps our beloved Bug and Cat team resolve things for the better.
I know that what Marinette's doing is sometimes wrong but if you don't watch the full episode and just be blantantly judgemental to the main character,go fuck yourself because you just throwing some bullshits there without checking it.

What the fuck?
Can at least everyone stop hating on Marinette rn!
The episode is not aired yet but they just starting to throwing hate on Marinette.
There is a reason why the writers want to do this.So please stop being blantantly judgemental rn until the episode aired.
Don't judge the book by it's cover.

If you had to break a miraculous, which miraculous would you break/destroy? and why?
That's a very hard question. But personally,I would say the peacock miraculous because if you give a sentimonster(not to be confused with sentihuman which I support)free will, then the sentimonster might damage the city. So,that's why.
But I still love Mayura though.
I agree with you because Lila's lie is so manipulative that everyone is believe in Lila's lie.Marinette is the victim.
Oh,don't forget about what happened in Ladybug(even though I say a lot of time that I want Marinette get akumatized).
Literally the DUMBEST Marinette salt I ever came across is saying that she had no rights to feel like a victim in Chameleon. Excuse me everyone turned against her was she supposed to laugh it out?! She WAS the victim! Just bc you hate her and hate the episodes that empathise with her doesn't mean that she doesn't have rights to have feelings. No one salted on that episode until you started hating Marinette.
Also,to those people who find my post a little bit unsettling and planning/thinking to block me,I apologize for everything that I'm made,OK? I'm sorry for everything.
Even though I really,REALLY want Marinette get akumatized,I still hate her(same with Felix).
And I'm still exist, please read my comment.
Can I be controversial again?
I like Lila, she's fun.
Yes she's a vile shrew, but that's just going to make it all the sweeter when my favourite bug themed snarker rips her a new one.
I mean as a villain, I like her, especially if they don't ruin her with a tragic backstory and make her misunderstood. I think of her the same way I think of Gabriel - good villains, bad people. You gotta admit Gabriel is a good villain, you can't deny that. He's not the smartest but he won't let anything stop him. But as people I do hate them and that makes the conflicts better. I already pointed out that I had my life ruined by the exact same person as Lila so how am I supposed to love her? Plus she hurt my Marinette but other than that - she's a good villain.
The lore(commonly known as the love square)is a mess but shouldn't taking it seriously.
If they say Adrienette is canon, that's it.Full stop.
You can ship somebody else like Lukagami but we don't know what will happen to them.(Except DJWifi because they love each other and a great couple tooš)
But to me personally,I don't want to dive into the love square and I don't want to be involve in this matter because it can sometime be an fierce argument or even a bad debate. That's why I don't want to be involve into the love square.
This is just a cartoon.People need to calm their emotion down.
When I see people openly hate a character and then share the fan arts of their favourite character in a ship with that other character they hate
Ok.For this one,I have to(kinda)agree on Thomas. He's(kinda)right about this thing.
If you want to go to the space,at least pay your workers/employees first,Jeff. You're the richest man in the world but you still being a dick by not providing a good and efficient working environment to your workers.
So, unsurprisingly, Thomas Astruc who claims he doesn't like to discuss politics on his Twitter and only wants to discuss Miraculous Ladybug with fans on there is talking about Mega Leech + climate change and how he "predicted greenwashing."
I'm tired.
Really, Astruc lucked out here. How else can you explain an episode about environmentalism airing right around the same time former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos went to space for no real reason other than to look cool in front of the other billionaires?Ā
Now because of this sheer coincidence, Astruc can gloat about how smart he is like he knows everything, including how to solve climate change.
I still hate Felix.š”
Ok,in Gabriel Agreste,he's a great and smart boy.I know and I admit it but let's not forget how bad Felix at the same time. Please comment below what bad action that Felix done in 2 episode(Felix and Gabriel Agreste).š
I love Felix with a grain of salt.š¤
Thank you.So good to hear.
What is your gender?
I just want to know.
I'm a girl āļø
Joyeuse Ćpiphanie!(Sorry,I'm not that fluent in French but I want to learn French.So....I'm sorry.)(DĆ©solĆ©,je ne parle pas couramment le FranƧais mais je veux/je voudrais apprendre le FranƧais.Donc.....je suis dĆ©solĆ©e.)
To all French(maybe even Parisian),I wish you a good, happy and safe Three Kings Day or more commonly known as Ephiphany.
Now enjoy your gallete de rois.

Don't give up.Maybe there is another way to revive your reply mode.
Can you read this?
I can but I don't have inbox anymore and I can't answer to replies, I think it only works with reblogs and, as far as I can tell, asks. This is so boring, I can't wait for this problem to get fixed cuz I hear many other people have the same problem so that's probably why we don't see many other accounts here.
How about go to the contact support? That may be work.
