Aaron Carter had a very troubled life and upbringing. His story is sadly the story of another child star that has been traumatized by Hollywood. I find it fucked up that so many people on Twitter and other social media sites are just sharing videos of him when he was clearly on substances. That is not all he was. Maybe it's the younger ones who are sharing these videos. Many gen Z people don't realize that for many millennials Aaran Carter was our Justin Bieber.

Oh, Aaron.

He was the most troubled and messed-up person I've ever met in my life, but he was also one of the most charismatic. His Jukebox Tour, which is LOST to the Internet, was the most well-produced, danced, and arranged concert I've ever seen.

If he had different parents, things might not have ended this way, but I think that oversimplifies the demons that man had.

Everyone deserves a support system, and ALL child stars should have non-familial advocates in their corners to be that support system when their parents can't or, in the Carters' case, won't. I want to think Aaron was among the last generation of truly exploited child stars, but...

Anyway, I will never again, in my life, feel an adrenaline rush like realizing that I was seeing Aaron Carter's sandwich roll past on the craft services cart. That was the best night of my life.

If you're looking for song recommendations to mourn: "It's Just You," "To All the Girls," and "Hey You" are my favorites.

And rapping the entirety of "Aaron's Party" is my party trick forever.

Aaron Carter died today.

I know most of you probably don’t know or don’t remember who he is. But I never forgot.

He was 34 years old. He left behind a young son, who now has to grow up without their dad. He was a complicated individual and you could tell in recent years that he was struggling.

They say that childhood fame is more often a curse than a blessing. And Aaron didn’t have the support he needed from the people who were supposed to love him the most.

He was the first love of my life. I had his posters all over my walls, he was one of my first concerts, and his CD’s were on a constant loop in my CD player. I watched everything there was to watch with him in it over and over and over. All the girls were obsessed with boy bands but I just loved this guy.

I am truly heartbroken. He deserved so much better.

Rest In Peace Aaron, I’m so sorry you couldn’t find it here on earth ❤️

“It was really the most accidental thing to happen in lockdown. It wasn’t like, ‘It’s three o’clock, it’s time to write a song!’ It was just messing around on a piano and singing badly and being overheard and then thinking, you know, what if we tried to get to the end of it together? Sending it to Justin with the idea of doing a duet and getting voice notes back of him singing over the top and stuff was surreal. It was a perk of lockdown. It was fun to do it together, and I was proud of it. It was nice getting such a positive reception. [On if there's a version of “exile” with him singing on it] Jesus, there’s probably a voice note somewhere that should be burned.”

RIP Aaron Carter

Mental health is important. I wasn’t a huge fan but I was aware of him and his problems. But sometimes it’s not the drugs, it’s not the ‘demons’. It’s the lack of emotional support, inability to fully express yourself and seek help. Mental health keeps declining. It always seemed to me that someone hurt him deeply in the past and he didn’t have the capacity to truly deal with that. It was so obvious that he struggled all the time, trying to fix it through music, drugs and other questionable, dare I say, attention-seeking ventures that simply did not help.

Take care of yourself everyone 🕊

Y'all don't understand ok Aaron's Party (Come Get It) was the first album I ever bought with my own money when I was 9 so I'm actually quite upset

people need to leave maya henry alone. she had every right as a victim to be mad and speak up about the abuse she endured at just 18/19 years old. if your first instinct in the wake of finding out that liam died is to bombard her with vitriolic comments on instagram, blaming her for any of this, you’re sick. none of this is her fault and you all need to do better.

Now that it’s been 3 years since “Folklore” came out, I have to say it but I never thought yogurt boy was William Bowery. Even Jack was like I have no idea who William Bowery is. I’m sorry I just don’t believe this random British dude who as far as I know doesn’t have any musical background could write part of these songs. And even if he did, I still don’t believe it I’m sorry. It just doesn’t not seem possible to me at all. That’s the hot take of the day and I know some of y’all are going to destroy me over it but.
