TODAY IS THE ONLY DAY YOU CAN REBLOG THIS
hey just a heads up/warning for those of you who don't do well dealing with the heavy subjects or videos portraying violent acts, sandyhook promise has a new gun violence school shooting PSA that is probably going to be going viral and is slated to play on television and in AMC movie theaters and it's pretty heavy, especially at the end. I know it's a topic that needs to be discussed but it's not a video that everyone will be able to watch, so just a warning for those of you that might not be able to handle it.

Not the “oh Einstein was probably autistic” or the sanitized Helen Keller story. but this history disabled people have made and has been made for us.
Teach them about Carrie Buck, who was sterilized against her will, sued in 1927, and lost because “Three generations of imbeciles [were] enough.”
Teach them about Judith Heumann and her associates, who in 1977, held the longest sit in a government building for the enactment of 504 protection passed three years earlier.
Teach them about all the Baby Does, newborns in 1980s who were born disabled and who doctors left to die without treatment, who’s deaths lead to the passing of The Baby Doe amendment to the child abuse law in 1984.
Teach them about the deaf students at Gallaudet University, a liberal arts school for the deaf, who in 1988, protested the appointment of yet another hearing president and successfully elected I. King Jordan as their first deaf president.
Teach them about Jim Sinclair, who at the 1993 international Autism Conference stood and said “don’t mourn for us. We are alive. We are real. And we’re here waiting for you.”
Teach about the disability activists who laid down in front of buses for accessible transit in 1978, crawled up the steps of congress in 1990 for the ADA, and fight against police brutality, poverty, restricted access to medical care, and abuse today.
Teach about us.
So I recently made two (long) posts about how to clear your Off-Meta Activity and how to toggle-off Meta Ads Data Permissions for those who are unable to leave Facebook for any reason. I decided it might be good to also post a short version of both together that might be easier to share. Let's just jump into it:
Profile icon ➡️ Settings and Privacy ➡️ Settings ➡️ See more in Accounts Center ➡️ Your Information and Permissions ➡️ Your activity off Meta technologies
Once in the Your activity off Meta technologies window you're going to want to clear your previous activity, then disconnect your future activity.
Profile icon ➡️ Settings and Privacy ➡️ Settings ➡️ See more in Accounts Center ➡️ Ad preferences ➡️ Manage info
Once in the Manage Info window you'll notice three categories: Information used to show you ads, Ads shown outside of Meta, and Other settings.
In the Information used to show you ads category:
Open Categories used to reach you, and disable all those options. Then, in the bottom of that same window, find Categories associated with you ➡️ View and manage, and remove them all
Disable Activity information from ad partners
Go through Audience-based advertising and remove permissions/lists there.
In the Ads shown outside of Meta category:
Disable Ads from ad partners in other apps
Disable Ads about Meta on other platforms
Then under the Other Settings category:
Click on Social interactions and disable Meta from including your social interactions alongside ads that your friends see.

And we're done!
If you'd like a more in-depth post with pictures to help you do this you can follow the links above to find those.
Also, even if you can't delete your Facebook account, I urge you to please delete/uninstall the app from your phone as that's the #1 best way to keep it from tracking you everywhere you go IRL and online.
(You may need to go into Settings ➡️ Apps to fully uninstall the FB app. I thought I deleted it years ago, but still found it in my list of apps just the other day. Turns out I only "disabled" it, and had to "uninstall" by going through settings (I assume uninstalling through app store should also work tho))
That said, if you delete no other Meta app from your phone- make sure to delete FB messenger- it's literally the worst one, but that's another post, which I'll hopefully get to later.
Stay safe out there, and remember- fuck Facebook.
Innocent until proven guilty, and not a minute before
id: a tweet from pop tingz. "max announces the release of the 'luigi mangione: the ceo killer' documentary on february 17th."
hey! just a reminder this alleged "ceo killer" hasn't been convicted of anything, hasn't even gone to trial, was taken into custody without being dna tested or fingerprinted (what fingerprints they did find near the scene were entirely circumstantial), didn't have any contact with legal rep before his extradition hearing, and wasn't identified as a facial match by the fbi's top notch ai software. just don't watch this doc, it's bound to be full of bullshit just like tmz.
I don’t know if this post has been made yet but I just want to warn everybody that if someone stops you in a parking lot and asks you if you’re interested in some perfume and hands you a paper to smell, PLEASE DON’T SMELL IT.
i repeat, DON’T SMELL IT.
Apparently the sample papers are being laced with a drug to knock you out. Please signal boost this. It can save someone’s life!
Listen, sometimes I get lazy!
“using keep inventory is cheating and you’re not playing minecraft the REAL way” <- this guy cant get home by jumping into a 100 block deep ravine
All of my family has straight hair, and the only one who I could ask about is my grandfather who hasn’t had hair since the 50’s. I never new that I’m not taking care of my hair right!
I hate my curly hair so much I'll brush it for like an hour and itll he smooth as silk but in literally like one minute there's at least 10 knots wHY
ADFADGSFDGKSFG
I hate this, because almost no one knows it. No one tells kids with curly hair how to actually take care of their hair.
You can’t treat curly hair like straight hair and expect the same results! You can’t! It doesn’t work! Curly hair gets its own routine!
Okay, look, here’s the deal.
Your curls are… curls. They are MEANT to go together into a GROUP. They are not like straight hair which just hands out in one big… thing. Curls have groups.
By BRUSHING it, you are splitting those good-curl groups into separate strands, which, on their own, are STILL trying their goddamned best to curl, but now that they are away from their friends, they are only clinging haphazardly to each other as best as they can and creating tangles!
Here’s what brushed curly hair looks like:
Here’s what well-treated curly hair that has CURL-FRIENDS is supposed to look like (curl size may vary):
See how the curl is NOT only one strand of hair? It’s a whole group!
You know how you get those nice curls?
Okay, here’s the deal - you sit down. You look at this chart. Figure out your type of curl. (guesstimate)
And now you go to this website and you read about what curly hair actually needs to thrive, and you change your routine, and you promise me that you will NEVER disappoint your curls like that again!!!!
1) Curly hair is damaged by heat, lack of moisture, and sulfates in shampoo.
- No blowdrying - use a cotton towel or t-shirt to scrunch your hair and get extra moisture out, and allow to air-dry
- Turn down the shower temp while washing hair. I mean it.
- Try to find a better shampoo.
2) Curly hair NEEDS moisture, and it NEEDS leave-in conditioner.
- Use lots of conditioner.
- Use leave-in conditioner
- Try to use water spray over chemical setting sprays.
3) Curly hair does not need to be brushed, only combed with a wide-tooth comb.
- Comb the hair through with your fingers while in the shower and detangle while you have conditioner in.
- Comb again with a wide-toothed comb after the shower if needed
- If you need to, use a twist of some sort to keep hair out of the way, but don’t squeeze it too much - give it room to breathe!
More tips from smarter people probably exist but that’s the basic stuff.
PLEASE be nice to your curly hair.
