“fuck you, my child is completely fine” your child wants to mysteriously disappear and start a new life in a victorian castle in the middle of nowhere.
aesthetic for @sleepystemkid
dedicating yourself to learning, always wanting to know more
anatomy sketches in the margins of your notes
keeping a list of documentaries you want to see
heavy engineering textbooks piled on your desk
a true crime podcast playing in the background while you go about your morning
reading biographies of Leonardo Da Vinci and other great visionaries
rewatching your favorite movies after a long day
a map pinned to the wall above your desk
getting books on your current interests from the library
closet filled with muted colors
a love of problem solving, working through complicated issues to reach a streamlined solution
hours spent studying in the library
drawing circuit diagrams in your notes
heavy book bags filled with texts on a variety of subjects
going down research rabbit-holes when you get interested in a new topic
growing plants by your desk
scrolling through recent news articles while you wait for a cup of tea to steep
the literature students
nights spent studying in the library, dozens of books piled on the desk before you
lingering in your favorite bookstore
debating with friends about your favorite authors
old books with faded bindings and handwritten notes in the margins
memorizing your favorite passages to recite back to yourself
overfilled bookshelves, volumes stacked on the floor by your bed
scribbling notes to yourself late at night, then trying to decipher them in the morning
beautiful handwriting scrawled across the page
worn out copies of your favorite books
wishing you could resurrect long-dead authors and poets
ribbon bookmarks tucked between pages
quotes by your favorite authors written on your walls
libraries with bookshelves that tower to the ceiling, books as far as the eye can see
carrying a book with you everywhere you go
fancy volumes with gilded edges
deep analysis, dissecting themes and diction and metaphor
leaning forward in your seat during class, eager to share your insights
researching your favorite authors, beginning to understand why they wrote how they did
handwritten copies of poems pinned up by your desk
the ache of finishing a particularly good book, knowing you’ll never read it for the first time again
annotating writing in your favorite pen
a sense of comfort anywhere you’re surrounded by books
why did we ever stop doing this??

Nowadays. there are so many subcultures and I must say I like the academics the most. We all are in one way or another smart and strive for knowledge. We appreciate languages and cultures and all the classics. We relate to each other. And somehow we all just want to sit in an armchair with a cup of tea and read our novel. And that is why I feel like this oldfashioned comunity is the best.
You're in love. There's no cure for that.
