So I was thinking that it seems odd if Jay, (experienced to make his own circle group when he's alone though he forgets) but when he is an Admin manager, the narrative trying to show that he's lonely? What about? His subordinates?? Their connections? none? huh? Then how he became a manager if he hadn't formed Any Bonds, to get trusted enough to be the manager but the narrative trying to show us as if he's lonely?? It's been 5 years.. (?)
And now with the whole Rogue situation I'm starting to understand his motif.
It's like.. the inability to express yourself- like.. those people around don't really accept you. Not as in they shunned you away but they want You-that-They-Supposed-to-Know. Yes, he's adaptable he could try to fit in. And as the result they know fit-in-jay.. their idea of him, not this current how-he-is-now Jay. (*This is the big picture, applies to both the Administration & the Ninja).
In the Administration maybe he has their respect, but I'm not sure he felt that way because he Knows he shouldn't be there, due to him being the master of lightning. At the end he knows they'll against him. Even if there's any compliments towards him, or any sort of appreciation would felt Fake, because it's not directed to him, but to someone he pretends to be.
Those years he's trying to fit in, to be acceptable to their standards, contrasting to Jay who's more.. (y'know how ).. Thus he has to kill some parts of him for them, making him losing himself. Maybe he realized this afterwards, so then he started to feed his "ego" (like playing games while working), doing anything that makes him felt "good" or suits him, anything that screams "This is Me".
And that's also why he accepted ras' offer, he accepted him as ele master, he "rescued" him; Though at the end he dumped him anyway ^_^
Plus the ninja wants him back, "Him" as in his family, But He doesn't feel that way. He's Not someone they expect to be. He can't pretend to be someone who they want. He knows for sure. He's tired, he wants to find his own path. He doesn't want to feel stuck/trapped. He want to be able to be himself. He wants people to see him as he is now.. not "Jay" they supposed to know.
And Tralala.. He picked a name: Rogue, his new identity to distinguish himself from Jay (whatever they think Jay is like).
He does whatever his intuition told him to, goes wherever the skies let him be.
Now I have mixed feelings if they bring him back to the ninja again hhh. It has to be good.
what are you doing on the floor
i’m so roguepilled atm..

anyway I hope Jay is such an annoying loser hope the ninja can’t stand him when they talk to him, they wanna have an emotional moment with him to jog his memory but nah they can’t sit through it bc Jay starts monologing omg ily dr
When a lot of people think of the inherent tragedy of Post-Merge Jay, many of the common things they point too is the loneliness, isolation, and loss of everything he used to care about due to his amnesia. With good reason too, because its not just tragic how he used to have a wonderful life and he can't remember it or how he's in the worst possible position right now (alone and with a Shattered Soul, whatever that may entail), but its also tragic because everyone that cares about him are powerless to do anything to help. Even if they find him, I'm confident that its not gonna be as easy as a heartfelt reunion.
Something that I don't see many people talk about that I think is rich in that sweet, sweet angst and drama is the fact that right now, nobody wants Jay for who he is. It's an idea I've been thinking about a lot, and kinda why I'm so interested in the concept of this "Evil Jay".
What I mean about that is this... Nya and the other Ninja want the Jay they knew from before the Merge. Ras only wanted Jay to further stack the deck against the Ninja in the Tournament. Arin only wanted to go after Jay because he could have some insight on where his parents ended up after the Merge. And presumably, the Administration only wants/wanted Jay because he was a good enough Agent to get promoted to middle management.
The consensus of many fans seems to be that Jay has trouble with how he sees himself, but what about this version of Jay? When one of these parties eventually finds him, do you think they're gonna ask him how he's been or what he's been up to? Or do you think they're gonna try and get him to do something for them, whether that be giving up some information or becoming someone he doesn't remember?
Ras sees him as a tool to be used and discarded when needed, Arin sees him as a means to an end, The Administration most likely sees him as their property, and the Ninja see someone who he doesn't even remember being.
At this very moment, no one wants Jay Walker for who he is.
Some drawings after watching the dragons rising season three teaser.
my very self indulgent version of Eddie <3
