Riddler and Harley are probably one of the only ones in the Rogues Gallery who are internet veterans, or I guess chronically online, and they’ve been around the shit posts and meme block for a good long time.

So imagine them laughing hysterically at certain things in real life that remind them of a YouTube Poop video from 2011 or a Vine from 2014 or from 2020 TikTok.

Edward didn’t reform just to get on Batman’s good side. He could care less what the Dark Knight thinks of him. Really. He can tolerate the suspicious looks when they arrive at the same crime scene, the silent glares, the terse words. Nothing different from when he was a Rogue, really.

One year of this though, and Edward’s patience is at an end. One night, after Batman tells him to back off of a murder investigation, Edward snaps.

“I know you’re never going to trust me, let alone like me,” he seethes. “But, once, just once, could you act as if I’m not about to commit some kind of crime?”

Batman glares at him, his arms crossed. “I will, once I’m convinced you’ve actually changed. You’re still the same man I went up against for ten years. You still have the same obsessions, you’re only keeping them buried. When they come out, and they will, I’ll be there.” Batman leaves without a look back.

And once again, Edward pretends his heart doesn’t break.
