This needs a part 2
Inspired by the song “Wildest Dreams” by Taylor Swift
It had been a little over a year since Andy broke up with you. You should’ve guessed that things with Andy wouldn’t have lasted though. He always had the look in his eyes that told you he was looking for the next best thing, but you hadn’t cared when you started dating him.
You had met him at some party you had reluctantly gone to. You had spent most of the party avoiding people or following your best friend around. But as it started to cool down inside, you found your way outside. You were always fascinated by all the colors the sky could be and this particular sunset had left you in awe.
“Are you really watching a sunset?” He had asked you with skepticism in his voice.
“Why does it matter to you?” You had replied.
“It’s just weird since there’s a party going on right inside.”
“I’m not really a party person and the sunset is really something tonight.”
“Do you mind if I watch it with you?”
“I guess not.”
That was how it all began. If you had known a sunset would lead you to him, you would’ve run in a different direction. But you couldn’t bring yourself to hate Andy.
Even if he made things unpredictable, you wouldn’t change a thing. He had definitely left a mark on you. Because even after a year, it was like you could still feel him next to you. You could hear his voice softly singing to your favorite songs and you could still smell his cologne.
All of this made you wonder if he ever thought about you. You wondered if he remembered how you loved to wear dresses during the summer with bright red lipstick that would always stain his cheeks or how the cold winters made your cheeks bright red. You wondered if you had even left a mark on him because he seemed untouched by your breakup.
But you weren’t as lucky.
The memories of you and Andy always seemed to be running through your head. For example, the time he had surprised you when he came home early from tour.
You had been dancing around your kitchen when his hands had been placed on your waist. You instantly turned around and saw his blue eyes and leaned into him. He had twirled you around the kitchen until you were dizzy. You had decided then that you loved him.
But the one thing that constantly played in your mind though was the night before it had all ended.
It was midnight and you were just laying down when your phone began to ring.
“Hello,” you answered.
“Come on a ride with me.” You had instantly recognized the voice. Andy’s voice had become one of your favorite sounds and had always brought you comfort.
“Andy, it’s late,” you said.
“Let’s get out of this town, Y/N. You always talk about exploring so c’mon,” he said.
“Okay. Where are you?” You asked him.
“Outside your house.”
“Give me a few minutes.”
You had changed into a pair of leggings and a big t-shirt before pulling on slippers and heading outside.
He looked deep in thought as he sat in the car as you slid into the passenger seat. He had instantly reached for your hand and laced your fingers together before bringing your hand to his lips and kissing it.
“Are you okay?” You asked concerned by the action. He usually wasn’t like this.
“Yeah, I just need to be away from the crowded streets and bright lights for awhile,” he told you as he put the car in drive and sped off.
You turned up the radio a bit before staring out the window as the city lights reflected off the glass of the windows.
“I’m sorry,” Andy said.
At the time you had thought he was apologizing for waking you up, but that wasn’t the case.
“Andy, it’s not a big deal. It’s nice seeing you before you leave for tour,” you told him. He nodded before going back to staring straight ahead.
You rode in silence for three hours before he finally decided to take you home.
You pulled up to your house and you invited him in. He didn’t really respond, but you took it as a yes when he shut the car off.
As soon as you got into the your house, Andy began kissing you as if this would be the last time.
And little did you know, it would be.
Things had gotten heated quickly and you both had ended up in your bed with your clothes thrown in every direction.
You woke up in the morning to find no sign of Andy and all of his clothes were picked up and his car was gone.
You never heard from him after that.
The first weeks had been rough and you constantly cried. Your friends had trouble getting you to do anything and when you started to get rid of his things, it became ever worse. You hadn’t been willing to throw anything away, so it lived in a box in the top of your closet.
It took a while, but soon you were figuring out how to live without Andy. Of course you still had him on your mind everyday, but the constant aching in your chest had faded and it didn’t feel like you were drowning.
Now here you were, a year later and you had rebuilt yourself.
You were cleaning your house when there was a knock on your door. You had snapped out of your daydream of some memory that had involved Andy and went to answer it.
You opened the door and instantly wanted to shut it, but instead of shutting the door or running and hiding, you stayed put.
“Can I come in?”
