maybe we aren't meant for revolution
“You can’t cure this,” said the Prince. “It’s spirit shit … possession. You can ward people so they don’t get grabbed—if you’re really good—but otherwise, chop them up and burn the bits. That’s the cure. Civilian or Edenite or House, it makes no difference.”
Things that Adaptions have robbed us from #5829:
Van Helsing having red hair! He doesn't have gray hair yet, which should tell you he's on the younger side of being "old"!
when I first watched utena I noted how peculiar it was that people depicted in their coffins were always curled up in a fetal position instead of the typical coffin position of lying on their back with their hands crossed over. it just hit me now that it probably has to do with the egg speech given at the start of the student council sequences. the one inside the coffin shows the chick that died without breaking the shell, or being born. the coffin shows the safety of eternity at the cost of never growing or changing. the coffin is the egg that doesn't crack. the juxtaposition of the egg (new life and potential) and the coffin (death and stasis). the ending of Utena is open-ended, as Anthy has emerged from her coffin and has cracked the shell of the egg/her world, and now she's creating a life of her own. the coffin seems eternal but it can be escaped, that's why they aren't posed as if already dead. oh my god
Made a Lucy and Arthur lockscreen for myself because I am completely normal about them…
This is coincidentally the first drawing of Lucy I’ve done with colour, so that’s a thing.
imagine there is one semi-redeemed dalek who works at the space dmv. they hired it because it makes lines go quicker. someone forgets their papers and instead of arguing about it, they hear a dalek start yelling PAPERWORK. PAPERWORK. and they apologize profusely and leave.
Various magnus archives drawings I did while listening to it (I stopped at mag 101 for unguessable reasons)
