So my boyfriend @ravenfal came down to visit last weekend and we had some fun with my swords :) I totally didn’t plan it or realize at the time but I love how we got that light side/dark side effect since I wear purple 90% of the time which was dark enough that it looks like black here*, and he was wearing white and just happened to stand on the side with the Christmas tree. I’m quite pleased with how movie poster-ish it turned out overall. We had fun :) 

*Actually I realize now I was wearing black pants and a black T-shirt with a purple tree on it and a purple sweater, so I am also wearing quite a bit of black; technically it might even be mostly black. The purple sweater looks black, though, so the effect is accentuated. 

Anyways, I’m just having some nostalgia(tm) this morning and I was just thinking about all the ways fandom has affected my musical experiences of late since I joined the MCR fandom and how much Tumblr has had to do with that. 

And then I was like, what would it have been like if I had grown up with fandom around the music I was listening to in my youth (I say like an old person)? And anyways I’m looking through pictures of Tom Petty on Tumblr now as I continue to contemplate Tumblr fandoms and my musical tastes. I picked this one to share because I hadn’t seen it before and his hair looks particularly lovely here. 

(I did make a post with some of my favorite Tom Petty pics a while back, though I was basically just talking about how I thought Lemony Snicket ought to look like Tom Petty.) 

Also, I believe I’ve found references to Tom Petty made by 3 of 4 MCR members in various interviews and things (I think Mikey is the only one I haven’t heard mention him) and I do love the excitement of finding the people behind one of your obsessions mentioning another (just like whenever Gerard mentions a fondness for Doctor Who). I gotta say it's poetic that song #100 on my youtube recap is Saturday by Fall Out Boy. My playlist ends the same way as a Fall Out Boy concert. Couldn't've planned it better.

I watched 2x14 of the Originals tonight and when Klaus told all the assembled werewolves at Hayley's wedding that Hope was still alive after killing his own father just for finding out the very same thing a mere handful of episodes ago, it made me think of this moment in this Studio C sketch -- "she knew, so naturally, she had to be taken care of! Of course, I didn't realize I'd be revealing that secret myself just a few hours later, but at the time it seemed very important to keep her quiet." Like. I guess I get his reasoning and can sort of see why it changed. But for a guy who killed the biological father he'd been so curious about just a few days ago to keep his secret, he sure did just announce that same dang secret to a roomful of strangers. If I was his biodad hanging out on the Other Side (or wait I think maybe that's gone by now? But if it was still there) I'd be trying my darndest to slap that idiot upside the head for that.

Happy Tumblr Prom 2021!!! I had a fun time doing a fancy photoshoot for @internet-prom-2021​ today; it was a good chance to dig out my old formalwear, including my actual junior prom dress, the suit I assembled for my Oswald Cobblepot Halloween costume in 2018, and my fairy wings from a different Halloween, because this is Tumblr prom, and this time I’m wearing fairy wings. Oh, and what would a formal photoshoot be without a sword? :)

Fancy jump shot + cool shadow :) I love how my skirt looks like flower petals here, even if my head got cut off in the mirror, lol. 

Also fun fact, the tie knot I used is called “the eldredge knot” (not to be confused with “eldritch” haha), and it’s also one of the knots Noam uses in The Guards Themselves--in Back in the Ring specifically--which may have had some influence on my choice of tie knot, haha. And while we’re doing closeups, here’s a closer look at my makeup (for my second photoshoot in my dress, which actually shows up first in this post; I did just the eyeliner, mascara, and a lighter lipstick for my pictures in the suit):

I tried to do a rainbow ombre thing with my eyeshadow but I maaay have taken up a bit too much space with the purple part, which I suppose is very on brand for me. It’s been forever since I put makeup on, but it is kinda fun to play around with :) 

And here’s a closeup where you can see my hair a bit better, too :) I did a whole braid thing but it didn’t show up a ton in most of the pictures. 

Oh, and here’s an artsy thing I did where I put my travelling selfie photoshoot mirror on the ground and took a selfie looking up at myself, for artistic reasons.

Happy Mother’s Day, Loki! Haha :D 

I really love how this artist managed to take Loki’s wild, chaotic, Ragnarok-inducing menagerie of mythological offspring and somehow make them actually super adorable. I love the contrast of myth-Loki’s children with movie-Loki, too. This is beautiful, adorable, sweet, and hilarious and I love it. 

Also I love imagining the confusion of people only familiar with the movies wondering how on earth Loki is a mother... Welcome to Norse mythology ;)

I may have a bit of a weakness for Loki with his kids. Okay, a HUGE weakness. And, really, it may be for all Supervillains with their children cause I always had a major thing for Lex being cute with Kon when I was in SV, hmmm…^__- Alas, as popular as preggers!Loki is, him with his kids doesn’t seem as common in fic…:-p

Me, when my cat is bathing my face and tries to slip me tongue: Look, I love you with every desperate inch of my soul baby girl, but not like that.

     Aaw, thank you so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying it :) Ever since I split off my sideblog (blagueofchaos), and even before that to some extent, I’ve tried to keep this one as the place for pretty much my top favorite things of the moment, so hopefully it stays pretty nice. 

     Oh, and sorry if I went a bit wild likespamming your blog the other day, by the way. Sometimes Tumblr shows me a blog and I go through and like a bunch of things. 

     (I forget there isn’t a place for tags on asks for some reason. I actually drafted my reply in a doc beforehand because I know Tumblr does weird things with asks if you don’t answer them all at once, and I wrote a bunch of tags for this; apparently I can put a cut in, so I’ll stick them under the cut.)
