Nothing frustrates more than the realization that the world behind your eyes will never look back at you like a mirror from the page. But the frustration dissipates when you realize that if you fill the entire page so airtight with your world, then there would be no room for the reader.
Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

Every writer has that one story that they don't even intend to write down anymore, but that is forever stuck in their brain.
But maybe I just wanna write fanfic right now, even though I could hypothetically write original work and try to get published. Maybe I just wanna right novel length fics about my favorite K-Pop idols instead. Like is that allowed?
crazy how fanfic authors drop the most beautiful and gorgeous pieces of work ever, leaving you speechless and sobbing at three in the morning as you quietly contemplate the masterpiece you just read
and they don’t get paid for it they just do it because they’re having fun and they want to share their joy with you
like I would literally die for all of you fanfic authors out there reblog to swear your allegiance to fanfic authors
if you feel like you forgot how to write: good. forget the rules. be ungovernable. invent a new genre.
Have I written in the past couple days? No. Are my daydreams going stupid? Hell yeah. When I have time to actually write it down will I still remember any of this lore? TBD
It’s frustrating when writing is your restricted (special) interest, and it’s all you wanna do, but you have things you have to do so you can use all your energy on it. Like it’s making me (more) depressed, but if I write now I’ll be too tired for poetry practice later.
(Sorry if this grammar is bad, again, I’m very tired and not okay)
Ok this book idea I’ve started drafting, I have no idea what’s gonna happen. Like I have vibes, a bit of world building, backstory, and three characters I barely know. I’m just gonna let the plot find me I guess
CHARACTERS ARE ALLOWED TO BE SHITTY. THEY ARE ALLOWED TO BE BAD PEOPLE. THEY ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE BAD OPINIONS AND EVENTUALLY REALISE THAT THEY'RE WRONG AND TRY TO CORRECT THEMSELVES. CHARACTERS OPINIONS ARE NOT A REFLECTION OF THE WRITERS OPINIONS. I BEG OF YA'LL. LEARN BASIC STORY TELLING TECHNIQUES. CHARACTERS ARE ALLOWED TO BE FLAWED WITHOUT BEING 100% A TERRIBLE PERSON. BECAUSE. THATS JUST HOW PEOPLE ARE IN REAL LIFE.
writing advice for characters with a missing eye: dear God does losing an eyes function fuck up your neck. Ever since mine crapped out I've been slowly and unconsciously shifting towards holding my head at an angle to put the good eye closer to the center. and human necks. are not meant to accommodate that sorta thing.
