âââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
It was the same house from which flew the strange thing. And what was it? She looked toward Selim. Still lying on the ground. Probably he was unconscious. Next to him was a large metal bowl. It looked heavy and solidly. She hoped it didn´t break his legs. Then she turned her gaze to the strange shadow behind the house. Figure began to appear from the dark corners of the house and with a graceful step approached the motionless body. It was also werecat. Well, werecat lady. She had dark tabby fur that glistened in the sun. Her black hair hung to her shoulders. She stopped a few steps behind Selim. Bright green eyes studied him. As if it was an unknown creature that she had never seen before. After a moment she straightened and folded her hands on her hips.
âWell, well, little brother.â she said finally. âHope you didn´t get hurt?â Her voice was pleasant, but the tone was literally dripping with sarcasm and superiority. Selim´s ears twitched. He lifted a little bit. In his head it was buzzing as in a hive. He supported himself by one hand and with the second he was rubbing the top of his head to dispel the pain that had throbbed sharply. He looked ahead. His sight was blurry and everything revolved around him.
´I guess I hit a rock.´ He felt, like to his hand, which he rubbed his head, clung warm blood. He slowly stood up and turned to the werecat lady that majestically towered over him. Compared to her Selim looked small and helpless. Selim wanted to straighten to equalize the height difference, but he was so out of the balance that he had to crouch down to avoid falling. He shook his head in an attempt to correct distortion of the senses. Later he found out that it was a mistake. He had seen even worse and surroundings rippled faster. Fortunately, he was so conscious that he could think rationally. He slowly looked around. He found nothing that would help him. His eyes settled on werecat lady in front of him. She stood still and watched Selim in amusement. He tried to focus on her but everything was still blurred. He couldn´t recognize her. The shape of the face, her features. Her voice was familiar, but he heard her only briefly. And because of the buzzing he didn´t catch a lot of it. All the thinking started to give him a headache. He turned his gaze to the ground. He needed a dull background, so he won´t wobble so much. In a corner of his eye he noticed a small beige spot a little bit on the left from the werecat lady. For a while he looked puzzled, but then he realized.
´This is my bundle, which I packed. I had to drop it. She probably hasn´t noticed. If I´ll be fast, I can pick it up before she did, and then disappear. I can handle it.´
But as soon as he made a step, his knees buckled and he fell to the ground.
âShucks.â he cursed quietly. ´So that went wrong.´ An acerbic laugh split the air. Werecat lady walked slowly to the small bundle. Selim wanted to stop her, shout at her, get up and take his bundle. But nothing worked. His body didn´t want to listen. He tried to get up, when she stopped again in front of him.
´If I straighten, I´ll just fall. For now I have to stay down.´ He realized. So he stood at four. He straddles a little more to maintain better stability. When he looked up, she waved the bundle in front of his snout. Selim wanted to reach out and grab it from her, but as soon as he raised his hand, he staggered. So he quickly dropped it down to keep from falling.
´There has been enough of those falls.´ He said to himself. The werecat lady laughed again.
âYou're really hilarious, Selim, I must admit. You'd be an excellent jester.â These two sentences were enough. He knew with whom he was dealing. He forced himself to words.
âGive me that, Lal!â He wanted to shout, but it was barely audible.
âSorry, I didn´t hear it. Did you say something?â she said innocently. He felt an incredible rage. On the humiliation he was used, it would not bother him. But why she goes so far to cripple him? He had also got hit from her, but it's never been so serious. He hadn´t done anything wrong, had he?
âGive me that, Lal!â Now his voice was carried through the village.
âCome on. This is not how you talk with your sister.â she said disappointedly.
Eunis startled covered her mouth. Arian was also taken aback. ´A sister? Seriously now she said she is his sister? So, why she is hurting him?´
Lal spoke again.
âIf you really want it so much, come and get it.â Selim knew he had no choice. He really needed his things and she knew it. Without maps he would get lost, without a compass he wouldn´t find the right direction. Carefully he straightened. When he stood firmly on the ground, he clenched his fists and prepared to fight. Again that her laughter.
âSo you want to fight?â she said in amusement. âYou know you can´t hit a girl.â she said gently, almost in maternal tone. When she saw that her words had no effect to him, she dropped the bundle on the ground and a came few steps closer. Her hands were loosely at your sides.
âDo as you think.â she said softly.
Selim was terribly annoyed by her feeling of untouchability, that literally emanated from Lal. He wanted to grab that feeling from her. Scatter her that she would be surprised that she would be confused and don´t know what to do next. That he might be the one who has the upper hand. He extended his hand. He wanted to hit her with his fist. He almost succeeded, if hadn´t been so out of the balance. He was outweighed. He missed. She didn´t even need to dodge. She used the moment when he was bewildered and slapped him. She slashed him in the left side of his face. Selim stepped back, startled. He automatically covered his injured face. From beneath his fingers he felt warm blood.
´Shucks! He scolded himself. ´Shucks, shucks, shucks. You moron! Look to pull yourself together!´ Lal still stood there and stared at her red-colored claws. As if she hasn´t seen the blood before. On her face was created a spiteful smile.
âSee? I told you this is not how you talk to your sister.â she said in a surprisingly deep and calm voice. âI guess I'll have to give a lesson in manners.â
Selim began to slowly back away. Startled, he looked at her, his hand still covering wounds. He didn´t like it. Not at all, he didn´t like it. He had a bad feeling.
´This won´t end well. I gotta get out, and fast.´ He turned around and wanted to run, but his legs were trembling. Before he knew it, he was lying on his stomach and on his shoulders he felt her weight. She sat on his back and hesitates what she would do with him. Selim, meanwhile, tried to figure out a way to get out of it. Until she sat on him, he couldn´t really move. He must force her to stand. But how? He tried to rewind to the side. Maybe he would manage to throw her off. It was a futile effort. Lal completely pinned him to the ground and Selim was already exhausted. He felt his hands shaking. The surroundings were no longer revolving, but it was still blurry. Suddenly, a dull ache went through his head. Lal hit him in the back of the head. And then again. And again. Selim heavily clenched his teeth to keep from screaming. He won´t make her the joy to hear him scream. At least this not. The surroundings before his eyes began to darken. Pounding has stopped. Lal stopped. She slowly stood up. Selim could finally breathe properly. Sharply she turned him and nearly took his breath away. She grabbed him by the collar of his vest and held him in front of her eyes.
âSo. Now you hopefully learned how to behave towards older siblings. Brother.â she added virulently. Selim didn´t perceive. He knew that she was saying something, but he didn´t understand her. He was tired and wanted to sleep. Lal's grip loosened and Selim slumped to the ground. Last time she looked at him, then turned and walked away.

Hi :-)
This one chapter will be little bit shorter.... I just must make the mood. I am not called âDrama Queenâ for nothing ;-P
âââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
âWhat problem?â asked Arian.
âIt's just that we don't love to have humans around. It would be probably better if you stayed a little away and hid.â
âWell then. We´ll hide.â said Arian. âBut we are not humans. We are elves.â he added.
âThat would be perhaps even worse.â he muttered.
âWhy? Is something wrong?â Eunis asked.
âIt's a long story.â Selim ended. They continued on.
The more they approached the home of Selim, the more light was passing through treetops. Eunis has been able to recognize more details of the surroundings. All around grew tall trees with wide trunks and exposed roots. They had to be hundreds maybe even thousands of years old. Here and there she saw a small bird fly through. The air was filled with the scent of flowers. From a distance she could hear the sweet singing of birds. Eunis was surprised how much life is in this gloomy forest. When they approached the brightest part of the forest, Selim unexpectedly turned to the dark corners. Eunis with Arian exchanged glances. Selim explained everything to them.
âJust before us is our village. Here in the bushes is a good place to hide. I have verified it. No one will see you there, and the wind blows from the village to you so you won´t be smelled so easy. But you have to be quiet. It´s not sound proved. Sit here. I'll be right back.â he said, and disappeared among the bushes.
Eunis quickly crawled under a bush and pulled aside a few branches to see. Arian joined her. She was curious how werecats lives. She never has seen their village before. To her surprise she saw nothing special. It looked normal. Like any other. Wooden houses with thatched roofs, large doors and many windows were arranged in a circle. Because it stood in the clearing, there was a bright light. She noticed Selim, how he cautiously sneaks along one of the houses. She wondered why he sneaks. However, she could now, at least from a distance, take a look at him. His fur was short and sand color with darker almost rusty stripes. Short hair, similar color as his fur, was falling over his forehead. By the left ear, she sometimes saw flashed something. He was dressed in a brown sleeveless vest and little lighter pants that reached his knees. On his neck dangled a red bandanna clasped with gray round buckle. He seemed nice. That's not how she pictured a werecat. In fact she thought it would look more threatening. But she liked him more this way. Arian was also looking at him with interest.
Selim slightly stretch through the door of a large house in the back. After a moment, he glanced from behind the door. In the mouth he was holding a small beige bundle and was nervously looking around. Recognizing that the air was clean, he quietly closed the door and on all fours he ran through the village. He headed off to the side from where Eunis with Arian had been hidden. That if he had been caught.
From the shadows of a nearby house, something rushed off. It quickly flashed through the air. It steered to Selim. The moment he bounced off the ground, he was hit in the legs. He yelped in surprise and dropped the bundle. He lost his balance. He was outweighed. He landed right on his head. He did a couple of somersaults and finally he lay still on his side. Eunis jumped to her feet and wanted to run after him, but Arian stopped her. She wanted to protest, Arian shook his head. Eunis looked back to Selim, then to Arian and again to Selim. Finally she sat resignedly and watched everything from behind the bushes. Arian was right. If she would ran there right now, everything would be just worse. Who knows how the others would react, if they saw her. And was there anyone? Eunis looked around the village. She didn´t saw no one.
Along one house, something moved.

Really sorry for late update... again. But our cottage got flood and we have to drive almost through the whole coutnry to get there because most of roads were under repairs. We were trying to save what´s left and somehow fix it. It took us almost half of a week. And we wrrived yesterday about 2 a.m. and I also must learn for some exams... So sorry it took longer than I thought, but here you go! Enjoy :-D
âââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
When she got to the statue, Arian wasn´t there yet. It was late morning. The sky still has pinkish hue. In this weather the statue has strange color. It was carved out of gray stone, but now it looked like she had normal skin. Almost alive. Just talk. Eunis looked MykÊnai into her eyes. While were from the cold stone, Eunis saw sadness and fear, with some urgency.
´I guess I was dreaming.´ She assured herself. I'm tired and it is too much for me. But MykÊnai disproved her conviction. Her eyes moved. They looked at the horizon. Eunis winced. She looked in the same direction as MykÊnai. There grew a thick forest, behind which was a long strip of mountains. Behind one a mountain she saw protrudes a tower. It could belong to some castle or chateau. It was certainly far. Far to the west. Eunis again turned to MykÊnai. Her sight was as before. Empty. She stared blindly ahead.
âI'm glad you waited here for me.â Arian emerged from the woods. âI'm sorry I took so long. I had to put Karmisha to sleep.â he explained. âThat little creature didn´t want to stay home. And Luten wasn´t too excited about it too.â
âWhy did you want to meet me here?â she asked. Arian laid his canvas bag he was carrying in his hand on the ground. For a moment he was rummaging in it and then he pulled out a folded piece of paper. He triumphantly showed it to Eunis and then decomposed it on a rock that lay off to the side. It was a map. It was full of colors and names that describe different places. Arian pointed to a small sketch of the castle. Beneath it was written Azzaret.
âThis is the kingdom of Azzaret. I've got some friends, who would allow you to stay with them. Moreover there rules queen Selestia. I've heard that she's a good and generous. You would get work from her.â Then he turned his gaze on the bottom side of the map. âThis is Sarezs ravine.â He ran his finger along a winding brown line. âBut don´t be fooled. On the map it looks very small, in fact it is huge. Passing takes up to three days.â he pointed out. âIt´ll leads you thee into Kanterlot Empire. There rules emperor Cronos. They say he is also very kind.â he explained. Eunis studied the symbol of Kanterlot. It was also castle just a little bit bigger than the Azzaret. He also had many more towers. Then her eyes slid to the west side of the map. Strange. Behind a strip of mountains she found a stain. As if the painter accidentally spilled paint there. Dark, satin black color. Beyond that, nothing. Map ended there.
âWhat's in here?â she asked curiously. Lightly shock flashed Arian's face, but quickly disappeared. It was replaced by nervousness.
âThere's nothing there.â he said quickly.
âWhy is there that stain? There's like the end of the world, or what?â she refused to be denied.
âI do not know. I found it in the library. Maybe it is an older map. Certainly there is nothing there. Probably just another mountains.â he said gruffly.
âSo let's explore.â she said.
âThat would be just a waste of time. There's nothing there.â Arian raised his voice to confirm his assertion.
âHow do you know?â
âDo you see the map, don´t you? There is nothing. We could get lost.â
âYou said it's an old map.â Arian was already angry.
âDoes it matter how old it is? There's nothing there and DOT! We won´t talk about it.â Eunis was confused. But she didn´t let him intimidated her.
âYou know something about that, right? What do you know about that?â
âHey, I'm here with that to help you find your way and new place. I can just walk away if you want.â he snapped.
Eunis stopped. Why is he angry? Why didn´t he just says, what is there? It is possible that he really don´t knows? But that wouldn´t explain his behavior. Does she have to tell him what had happened before he arrived? MykÊnai looked pretty urgent and desperate. Probably she will look like a fool.
âMykĂŠnai wants us to go there.â she said slowly, watching Arian´s reaction. He looked at her uncomprehendingly. He didn´t believe her.
âI know you don´t believe me. You probably think I'm crazy.â she continued before he could say anything.
âBut MykĂŠnai wants us to go there. Before you came here, she looked to those mountains.â she pointed towards the tower.
âYou see that tower? That is our goal.â
âAre you sure? I don´t mean to say that you invent it.â he added hastily, when he caught her gaze. âIt's just that you do may seem. You've probably upset about what happened to the village. Or ...â
âArian, please.â she interrupted him. She stared into his confused emerald eyes.
âYou must trust me. I don´t know why we should go there. Maybe it has something to do with the attack.â she said urgently. âI don´t know how or why, but I feel that we should listen. She is our goddess. She protects us. You didn´t see her eyes. She was afraid. If you don´t want to go with me, than don´t. Just please, tell me, what is there and how to get there.â Arian did not know what to do. He looked Eunis into eyes. There were seen urgent plea for help. She begged him to not let her in it alone. She hoped for help. He saw in them also panic. Fear of rejection. Fear of what is waiting at that place. Yet he found some kind of determination. Eunis made up her mind. Now it was up to him to decide. He looked up at the horizon of the western mountains. He found high black tower stand out among the mountains. It looked to mysteriously ominous. Even from this distance it seemed to be impressive. His gaze then slid to a map in his hands. He stared at the black stain in the upper left corner.
âIt's Forbidden territory.â he said quietly. Eunis stepped closer to him and looked at the western part of the map.
âAccording to legend, there lives a very bad elf. They say destroys everything and everyone who approach him. That tower could include his chateau or castle. But nobody knows for sure. Couple elves decided to investigate, but never returned.â Eunis looked at him aghast.
âThat's why you not want to me to say anything.â He nodded.
â It doesn´t change anything on my decision.â she said in a tone that he rejected any resistance. Arian lost. Again. He had to smile about it. Twice a day he lost against inexperienced elf, while he diligently studied and practiced, so that someday he could get on post of headman. How ironic.
âArian?â Arian cleared his throat and looked again seriously.
âTo these Forbidden mountains leads many paths, only a few of them are right. A large majority of them leads through the forest. However, they are unused. A lot of them naturally overgrown with grass and bushes. You easily get lose. It is good to find someone who knows it there. A guide. Unfortunately, none of us here are familiar with those paths and I can´t think of anyone else. We'll have to ask someone local.â he paused. âWon't you reconsider it? Are you sure you want to go?â he asked worriedly. Eunis for a moment still hesitated.
âAs I have already said. It doesn´t change anything on my decision.â she said.
âOkay.â he said resignedly. âWe're going to find a guide.â When they returned, the village was in full flow. Many elves were still eagerly working on repairs. Just a few more days and there will be no trace about the attack. They decided that they first visit Sankore. As a blacksmith he should know the nearby mountains, due to imports of material for the job. Moreover Eunis wanted to take look at his condition. His left hand still needed to be fixed, but otherwise he was fine. No serious injuries. Soon, even the splints won´t be necessary. That day he was very lucky. They found him near the northern border. He instructed a group of elves how build the future protective walls. Now he was arguing with one elf over the construction plans.
âWhat the hell you were you thinking? You can´t just say that you build the wall, then pick a nice spot and finally begin to pile up stones. What on earth were you thinking? In this way this wall will fall even because of a breeze. Remember that the most important thing are the foundations. Without them they won´t stand. Where did you learn that you don´t know even this? No. Don´t say anything. And most importantly, after you lay the stones, don´t forget add some binder, ok? Now, get out. And make it right this timeâ shaking his head in disbelief after him. But when he saw, that Arian with Eunis were approaching him, kindly he smiled and waved.
âHey, Sankore.â Eunis greeted him. âHow are you doing?â
âOh, well. And when do you plan to take this off my hand?â he asked. âIt obstructs me at work.â
âYou know that you shouldn´t work at all. At this rate, I´ll never take them off. But if you behave, you should be just fine before the celebration.â she said.
âSo it'll be a complete saint.â he grinned. But suddenly spun around and marched to the elf, with whom he spoke a moment ago.
âFor the King´s sake, what are you doing again?! You're probably kidding me? These are the foundations? And how is the wall suppose fit? It should be a protective wall, so it must endure something. And to endure anything it should be wide and strong. Yeah, so you think that should be enough? It has barely a meter! I could demolish if I leaned against it, let alone if the invaders began attacking it. A minimum of two and a half meters it will be wide and a meter deep, understand? And woe to you if you mess up something again!â grumbled Sankore. Reprimanded elf shuffled shamefully to other coworkers.
âBloody likely.â he complained. âGetting nowadays somebody who knows something is almost impossible.â
âThat's why we came to you." Eunis said.
âWhat? You need to fix something?â
âNo. We need more like advice.â Arian said. The answer surprised Sankore.
âAdvice? From me? What you want to know?â
âWell, as a blacksmith,â said Arian, âat least in our opinion, you should be familiar with the broader surroundings of the village. Especially the mountainous area due to rocks and metal. It is that so?â Sankore nodded. Confused eyes darting from one to the other.
âThou shalt confess in the mountains around the Forbidden territory?â
Sankore startled by his question backed off. But he tripped over shovel, and with a muffled thud hit the ground. Incredulous he looked at them. Has he heard correctly? No, no. Certainly he misheard. They couldn´t ask him about something like that.
âThou shalt confess in the mountains around the Forbidden territory?â Arian repeated. He hasn´t misheard. What do they want to know? Why did they come after him? Does he have to tell them what he knows, or send them away?
âWhy ... Why do you ask?â he said finally.
âWe want to check something.â Arian replied simply.
âI don´t understand ...â
âThou shalt confess there or not?â
âWell, we can say yes.â
âCould you take us somewhere?â Sankore stood up and firmly shaking his head.
âNo no. I can´t. Sorry, but I don´t want to have anything with this.â
âSankore, please. You're the only one who can help us.â Eunis begged.
âI'm really sorry, but no.â
âAnd do you know someone else who would be willing to show us the way?â Arian asked.
âWith that someone barely helps. Although ...â he thought for a moment.
âSomeone could have possibly been found. Oh dear King, I'll get in trouble if someone finds out about it. Well. Listen carefully. I will not repeat it. Deeper in the woods, north of our village, lives one a freak. His name is Zodocar. If you persuade him, he´ll take you wherever you need. But be careful, he is quite explosive. He easily gets angry. Then you definitely don´t want to know him. Tell him that I send you. In this region he is known by everyone. Just ask someone about him and they will show you where he is.â
Eunis threw her arms around his neck. âThank you, Sankore.â Arian nodded gratefully. Sankore sighed and returned to work.

Besides, the prince sent his man to find her, he didn't go himself. And they didn't have any other indication to determine who the mysterious lady was. I believe they would pick all the women the slipper will fit and take them to the palace and then the prince will choose the right one. I myself have a problem to remember faces and names, and I would have done it that way.
