You’d met Rooster your first year of college. You had come out to San Diego for school with no expectations of what you might find. You were on your own, independent for the first time in your life and you were determined to find yourself. You wanted to let loose and experience college in its fullest, which meant going to parties and hooking up with boys and getting drunk on the weekends and everything else others’ tales of college promised. So when your new room mate invited you out to a bonfire at the beach that night, you knew you’d be a fool to pass it up. You went with her, giggling as you got to the beach, having already pregamed in your dorm before arriving. A drink was thrust into your hand as you arrived to the group and mingled around with the people there. You were beginning to get more than tipsy when your room mate grabbed your arm. Your room mate drunkenly squealed as he walked over, hitting your arm. You had to admit, whoever this man was, he was fine. And honestly, this would make for a memorable first college hook-up. “Ladies.” He greeted, lowering his glasses so he could send your room mate a wink. You laughed, taking another sip of your drink. You frowned, realizing it was the last of it, and your room mate realized she was out too.
