Did you know that the Museum has the largest collection of fossil horse skeletons in the world? 🐎 In the early 1900s, exhibits showed a classic, linear progression of evolution. Today, the display also offers a more current view of evolution with a complex, branching history. Cladistics, the grouping of organisms by shared, specialized characteristics, shows that some later horses, such as Calippus, are actually smaller than earlier ones. It also shows that other later horses, such as Neohipparion, still had three toes. All modern horses have one toe. Photo: D. Which one is your favorite , comment below ... 1. NASA’s Viking I is the first ever spacecraft to touch the Mars surface. The Viking I spacecraft touched the martian surface on 20th July, 1976. This spacecraft also holds the record to send first ever image of Mars to Earth just after touching the surface of red planet. 2.The view of earth from space is the most spectacular things that a man ca ever get in his lifetime. NASA’s Saturn mission spacecraft manage to gift us view of mother Earth and Moon from Saturn. Cassini capture this color image of Earth and Moon from 900 million miles away just near to Saturn planet. 3..This spectacular view of Sunset on Mars was captured by NASA’s Spirit space rover. 4.Earthrise is the most popular photograph from NASA’s Polo 8 mission, the first ever manned mission to lunar orbit. Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and William Anders the astronauts of Apollo 8 mission took the photograph of mother planet from lunar orbit on Christmas evening of 24th December 1968. P.c. Inverted City Beneath Clouds
How could that city be upside-down? The city, Chicago, was actually perfectly right-side up. The long shadows it projected onto nearby Lake Michigan near sunset, however, when seen in reflection, made the buildings appear inverted. This fascinating, puzzling, yet beautiful image was captured by a photographer in 2014 on an airplane on approach to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. The Sun can be seen both above and below the cloud deck, with the latter reflected in the calm lake. As a bonus, if you look really closely -- and this is quite a challenge -- you can find another airplane in the image, likely also on approach to the same airport.

This is the famous nebula “The Pillars of Creation. Scientists picture nebulas with infrared techniques because they allow them to see stars inside the nebulas. These stars are invisible to visible light due to dust. These images were taken with the Hubble telescope. - What are your thoughts? NASA now is targeting Oct. 31, 2021, for the launch of the agency’s James Webb Space Telescope from French Guiana, due to impacts from the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as well as technical challenges. This decision is based on a recently completed schedule risk assessment of the remaining integration and test activities prior to launch. Previously, Webb was targeted to launch in March 2021. https://www.instagram.com/p/CC3Oa6FnTeQ/?igshid=17ss7ti1cfo15
Hubble Finds an Einstein Ring The light is real but the bizarre blue ring is a fake — an imposter created by a cosmic trick called gravitational lensing. What's more is that Earth is perfectly positioned in the universe to see this exact image. . These graceful arcs are examples of a cosmic phenomenon known as an Einstein ring. The ring is created as the light from a distant objects, like galaxies, pass by an extremely large mass, like this galaxy cluster. In this image, the light from a background galaxy is diverted and distorted around the massive intervening cluster and forced to travel along many different light paths toward Earth, making it seem as though the galaxy is in several places at once. . . . . . . https://www.instagram.com/p/CEVXa8ejrTd/?igshid=1dpvn6xcn5952
