No Thoughts, Just... Thinking About The Way Ekko Looks At Powder...

late night Brad thoughts are the fact he, more often than not, molds himself into roles for the people around him. To him, someone’s who’s seen so much, it’s both a way to disassociate himself from things but a source of amusement too. It’s not too different than the switch in perspective of a story, just because you’ve read it one way, maybe there’s something to be found from a fresh perspective. He flows off vibes and that can make him a helping hand, an antagonist, a mentor and more. But, just like roles, he can easily discard these guises. He doesn’t connect to them - if he does, never for long. His story was supposed to be an endless journey but he found the end and that is why he drifts endlessly. An unknowable figure, aimless until a new story begins.

"thanksmanyou'realifesaver."  words  hurtle  off  his  tongue  like  a  racecar  zipping  around  a  track——all  in  less  than  a  second,  a  picosecond,  actually.  "er,  i  mean,  thanks,  man.  i'll  be  sure  to  cherish  this  burger  that  could've  totally  saved  your  life. minus the pickles, can't eat those."  a  loose  grin  hangs  off  his  lips  before  hurrying  to  take  the  burger  in  question.  running  low  on  calories  ...  well,  that's  a  speedster's  personal  hell.  far  as  wally  knows,  though,  he  might've  had  it  the  worst.  it  earned  him,  at  one  point,  the  name  'kid  mouth'  rather  than  kid  flash.  least  that's  what  dick  loves  to  call  him  even  to  today.

plucking  the  top  bun  from  the  burger,  he  gently  flicks  the  pickles  off  onto  a  napkin  and  takes  his  first  bite.  ah!  delicious  calories.  exactly  what  every  growing  flash  needs—don't  fact-check  that.  you're  hearing  it  from  a  true  professional,  after  all.  right  now,  wally's  in  heaven  but  really  wondering  if  he's  got  enough  on  him  to  pick  up  a  nice  shake.  some  fries  too——oh,  and  one  of  those  little  wildcat  toys.

"so,  between  starving  to  death  and  crying,  what  exactly  is  there  to—"  a  light  burp.  "excuse  me,  uh,  what  exactly  is  there  to  do  around  here?  'm  a  bit  new  to  this  tourist  thing."  sort've.  long  as  the  words  stretched  a  bit.

Like in many such prior cases with many other individuals, Mark's first instinct is to just hand over the discarded half of his burger without any complaint.

That's not what he does, though. It's not like he was going to finish it either way, but his second and more important instinct is to be really annoying about the whole situation. There are some real desperate people out there who will only let go of their hard-earned food kicking and screaming—Mark just wants to go out being a little bit of an asshole about it.

"Sorry, I just ran outta all my money and this is the last good burger I'm ever gonna get," he lies. "I mean, I guess you can take it, but I'll just starve to death after. And cry. I'll cry an' I'll starve to death about it. Is that what you want? You want me to die? Wow. What a cruel and unjust world I live in."

He leans back in his seat, offering a look halfway between judging and amused. Then he shrugs, breaking out into a smile.

"Nah, you can have it."

she  insists——he  refuses.  it's  push  and  pull.  the  tug  of  the  waves  and  the  moon  'pon  each  other  where  neither  truly  wins.  for  a  moment,  he  thinks  of  his  past  ...  when  brandishing  his  spear  would  pave  the  way.  when  filling  these  roots  with  scarlet  would  make  his  will  absolute.  a  time  when  he  did  not  value  life  nor  know  their  pain.  now,  however,  he  does.  his  curse  subjects  him  to  a  sense  of  empathy  deeper  than  mere  sensation  &.  it  pains  him.  a  nagging  pain  only  kept  at  bay  with  his  strength  of  mind.

he  remains  obstinate  as  arms  fold  behind  his  back.  their  gaze  sweeps  these  woods,  drinking  in  the  absurdity  likely  thick  within  them.  it  remains  him  of  inodal——his  home.  a  strange  place  full  of  secrets  and  the  unknown.  maybe  a  trip  back,  after  this,  would  soothe  the  sickness  in  his  heart.  one  can  only  hope.

"i  answer  your  question,  yet  you  spurn  mine.  you  wound  me  deeply,  you  know?"  he  clicks  his  tongue.  "i  have  wandered  farther  than  you  can  imagine——far  from  a  realm  beyond  this  place.  i  am  far  from  a  human.  it's  an  insult  to  them  to  compare  them  to  my  ilk.  what's  the  word  of  this  land  ...  i'm  a  godling.  son  of  the  beast  who  stalks  the  higher  realms  to  bathe  their  eminence  in  blood."  the  hunt,  the  beast:  Upione.  "not  that  i  expect  them  to  be  known  here  ...  peer  deeper,  seerer.  surely  there's  an  answer  that  will  satisfy  you  among  the  stars."

Like something predacious, does he stalk the area, as if looking for OPPORTUNITY ; she would not offer him such. Perched 'pon high, owlish eyes narrow. She could not discern intent, without further prodding ; but she must be cautious — tread with care.

Cassandra   learned   body   language   before   language.   It   became   the   first   and   only   thing   she   could   understand.   Since   taking   up   the   mantle   of   b//atgirl,   she's   undergoes/undergone   speech   therapy   to   improve   her   speech.   Despite   being   able   to   speak,   she   speaks   more   so   with   clear   intent   or   prefers   fewer   words.   When   she   speaks   in   a   longer   form,   it's   with   feelings   behind   them   or   meaning.

002. I   believe   this   sits   as   canon   for   most   bat//family   members,   but   Cass   teaches   self-defense   techniques   to   the   women   of   G//otham   on   a   volunteer   basis.   Giving   them   the   means   to   defend   themselves   from   the   city's   mean   streets,   she's   thrilled   to   put   her   skills   to   use   for   more   than   crimefighting.   To   give   her   bloodied   legacy   a   far   better   meaning   alongside   serving   as   b//atgirl.

003. Strong   silent   type.   Most   problems   are   internalized,   although   some   are   expressed   through   reckless   behaviors   in   the   field.   A   strong   sense   of   guilt   sits   inside   her   from   past   actions,   along   with   the   sting   of   failure   that   comes   from   the   past.   She   throws   herself   into   the   field   in   a   way   to   make   up   and   bury   those   feelings   more   often   than   not.   A   bit   hard   to   get   a   read   on   if   you   don't   know   her   very   well.

004. It's   almost   impossible   to   lie   to   Cass.   Reading   body   language   and   additional   training   made   her   a   walking   lie   detector.   The   tiniest   shift   of   weight,   the   subtle   twitch   of   an   eye,   a   quirk   of   lips   tend   to   be   more   than   enough   for   her   to   read   people.   She   doesn't   think   fondly   of   liars,   especially   when   they're   close   to   her.   On   the   same   note,   because   her   social   skills   are   developing   gradually,   her   mouth   reacts   faster   than   her   mind   to   family   matters.   Reading   the   members   of   the   b//atfamily,   unfortunately,   happens   all   too   often.   She   worries   for   them;   she   blurts   out   what   they're   trying   to   hide,   sometimes   leading   to   more   friction   between   them.

005. A   strong   craving   for   fast   food,   not   necessarily   the   fondest   of   sweets.
