I wasn't tagged but whatever. I loved to see how everyone was introduced to Miraculous.

So, when I was at high school there was this younger kid who everyday took the same bus as I did. One day we were talking about cartoons and he asked me if I ever watched Miraculous. I was like "Uhhh... no? Why is a ladybug inspired hero so cool anyway? There are so many other cooler animals" so he told me to give it a try.

When I stay out for long I usually turn on the tv for my dog. She loves watching cartoons. I got home after school somedays later and there she was, watching Miraculous on Gloob.

The first thing I noticed was how the caracters designs were diferent. I hate when all people look the same on a cartoon. Then I saw Marinette acting on full akward mode around Adrien and it brought me those sweet pre teen feelings I used to have around my crushes and found it completely adorable. But at the beggining I though Chloe was dating Adrien. My mind went "giiirl, I know she's terrible but you shoudn't steal other's boyfriend".

I guess the episode was Stormy Weather. When she detransformed I didn't understand why the heroes were letting her go, since I wasn't watching the akumatization part. Then Hawkmoth went crazy pissed about LB. (Ok. That man has some issues)

The love square and random lucky charms were what caputured my atention, so I watched another ep. At the end, Gabriel detransformed. My mouth dropped while I was freaking because OMG IT'S HIS FATHER!

Anyway. After that day I became Miraculous addicted.

Your Miraculous Story

Since there’s a Sweet-ember event in the fandom for 5th anniversary of Miraculous, I think it’s the perfect moment to make a post I wanted to for a long time but I was too busy with making fanarts or too lazy to write this.

How and when you got introduced to the Miraculous? And what was your first impression?

I haven’t seen a single episode until October 2019 (or late September, I’m not sure), but I have already heard about the show around 2016. The Chat Noir fanart of my old friend I have seen on her deviantART (she also has Tumblr account, but that’s inactive for over 2 years) was my first encounter with Miraculous I remember. We were close internet friends around 10 years ago (we have even met in real life once), both active in the Pokémon community on deviantART back then. Although I haven’t talked to her for years, I had used to visit her DA from time to time. I have heard about the show more times before the second half of 2019, but I have never tried to watch it.

That changed when Puls 2, a Polish television station which isn’t a typical kid channel but it shows variety of animations from 6 to 20 (even movies in weekends), has began airing Miraculous in September 2019 (from the start it was the whole season 1 and the first half of season 2). Of course the Polish Disney Channel also airs Miraculous since 2015 like most of European countries, but Puls 2 is quite easily accessible, while all the Disney channels are not (I have never had access to any in my house). I have much contact with kids shows on TV thanks to children around me and since we’re watching Puls 2 often (their selection of cartoons is quite good, in my opinion definitely the best from all channels I have access to, even if there’s also that annoying Alvin and the Chipmunks CGI animation). So I had to see Miraculous sooner or later there. I have also been very curious about the show as I have been aware it’s popular among adults. And finally it did happen around October I have mentioned above.

I don’t remember the exact first episode I have seen, but I think it was something from season 2 (that’s why it’s more possible that it happened in October than September). Now I think it could be Despair Bear. My first impression wasn’t too good. I couldn’t realized what makes Miraculous special among other kid shows. For instance in Despair Bear I have seen a typical bully girl (though thankfully without a group of other snobbish girls who admire her, like in many other shows) who isn’t well-liked among kids in the school (which was very good in my opinion), but that main male, who is the love interest of the lead female, likes her for some reason. Back then I hadn’t understand their relationship, so I thought he defended her only because the show writers wanted him to be that Perfect Boy who is nice for everyone, no matter how terrible persons they are. So I really disliked Adrien at first, he seemed to be too perfect to me (I just haven’t taken into account his Chat Noir side). I had no idea how much wrong I was, both Adrien and Chloé are more complicated characters than I could imagine back then. Despite all that, I decided to give a show a chance and try to watch it online after some time but still in October.

I started with season 2, because I thought it should be better than season 1 for some reason. My intuition wasn’t wrong in that case, I like season 2 (and 3) much more than the first one. I had much time on my hands then, so I have seen all seasons 1 and 2 episodes in Polish and subs of most of season 3 before November. In Poland season 3 has premiered on 4th November, but the whole season was aired in just a month (the finale has premiered on 6th December, both episodes were aired at the same day, one after another). I have been drawn into Miraculous fandom quickly and I have created my Tumblr blog on 15th December.

In this post we are doing also tag people we’re curious the most, to encourage them to tell their Miraculous story. But there’s no pressure to write anything. If you’re not interested just ignore it.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

I’ve never watched an episode of Miraculous Ladybug, but a while ago an anon asked if I had seen it so I decided to throw this together. It’s compiled from whatever I learned from people I follow on Tumblr, as well as a description of the show I got from a classmate 3 years ago. I tried to avoid googling answers to keep it authentic because yeah, I’m confused.

This started as a “let me show my knowledge” and ended with me asking a bunch of questions. All of them are rhetorical for the sake of humour, you don’t actually need to answer them.

Hopefully fans of the show find this… amusing? Yeah let’s go with that

Marinette scrambled down the stairs, rushing to get to her locker between classes. The time in between was never long enough.

Even as crazy as her life had become, it had been a busy few weeks.

Things with Luka had been okay. Just okay.

It was bad enough that her superhero duties meant she had to bow out gracefully more often than not. But even with all of that, there was only so much music she could listen to, especially when she was carrying the conversation – and there was so, so very much she really couldn’t talk about.

It was increasingly clear to them both that despite their best efforts, it just wasn’t going to work out between them. He’d been sad – and she’d been sad at the prospect of either of them feeling hurt – but eventually, he agreed that they should part amicably. After all, Luka was still a good friend, and she knew without question she could still count on his skills as Viperion.

As Tikki reminded her daily, she didn’t need someone else to be happy.

But with Alya and Nino as affectionate as they ever were, with Adrien and Kagami hanging out more – and after Chat Noir finally moving on… like she’d asked.

Well… it all left her a little lonely.

Marinette sighed, opening the door of her locker to shuffle the books in her locker between classes.

The sunny flash of yellow between her books poked out, allowing the soft smile to bloom across her face.

It hadn’t really been surprising that when the first of these secret admirer notes started to appear, Marinette kind of started to look at them fondly.

At first, she didn’t really know what to make of them. The butter yellow envelope was unlabeled with matching stationary inside. The letter inside was typed to prevent any handwriting hints.

The outside didn’t even bear her name. Just a single heart.

But the letters inside? It was like having a pen pal who happened to know her very well. She’d only gotten a few letters. They weren’t very romantic… just startling sweet poems and jokes and stories. It had quickly become a much needed pick me up long before she herself realized she’d needed it.

She shook her head, stowing the letter away in her bag. There was no time to read it now, between classes.

Marinette pressed her lips into a thin line, shutting her locker and settling her bag over her shoulder as she headed back to the door. Even now, she had no idea who was sending them. She was sorely tempted to try and ask Tikki to stay in her locker and watch. Not that that would exactly be a responsible thing… especially with all her Guardian duties on top of everything else.

But with the letters coming exclusively to her locker, she couldn’t help but make a point to sneak past and watch it as often as she could. Alya didn’t even blink when she mentioned that she forgot her books for the next class.

In her rush back to class, the screaming had started. She hadn’t even made it to the stairs before she collided with someone.

“Sorry!“  She gasped automatically.  Her eyes growing ever wider as she registered just who stood before her.

Effortlessly – and all without a word – Marinette was swooped up by the giant banana, hanging off his outstretched arms like an odd, overly melty scoop of ice cream.
