Kakashi getting to use all types of tech iques to really show off his diversity in skill is just so wonderful
I love having a book where he gets to do that. Kakashi hidan was focused so much on stealth and protecting people who couldnMt protect themselves that Kakashi couldnβt really show off the variety of jutsu he could use (the location of his fights also made that impossible since he didnβt want to destroy the ship)
But this book gives him the freedom to use all different types of fighting styles. To really show off his diverse skill range
I love it
In a recent reblog I saw your talking about some of Kazuhiko Inoue's audios... I've only heard the innocents but not spicy ones πβ¨ do you have the link by any chance? π€
Sure! I have them in a neat folder on google, please DM me for a link π
(P.s. Iβm trying to get a full collection, so any additions are welcome π€)
You wonβt get it if I explain both at the same time. As your teacher, Iβm sorry.
This broke me when I was a kid. Had me sobbing.
As much as we all love to tease him, Narutoβs actually real fucking smart. I do it, too, in no small part because I see a lot of myself in him. Having ADHD, growing up fighting desperately to be able to learn on even ground, with the same opportunity as my peers, and never really having exactly what Kakashi is being here. Most of us never have so much consideration into changing how instead of what is being taught. Yet, here was a well-known, beloved, and even respected character across the world doing what all teachers should do.
For context, the gif above is from one of the first scenes where Kakashi is taking Narutoβs training more directly and teaching him foundations of pieces Naruto already uses. Initially, he goes to explain this in a very direct, technical manner as he would for Sasuke or Sakura, and quickly realizes that is the wrong approach for Naruto. He then, as he will continue to do throughout training Naruto, breaks things down differently or shows him in a tangible way. Teaching him how to access the full extent of the shadow clones is a perfect example of this.
And the biggest reason it made me cry my fucking eyes out is because as he does this, there is not a single implication that heβs looking down on Naruto for needing a different approach. Not even a little.
Now, this is emotional for even more reasons, because we have a much better understanding of Narutoβs parents and a significantly better idea of what Minato was probably like as a teacher. Minato also had a brilliant student who was almost certainly ADHD, I mean we have joked about him being like Naruto since he was introduced, and in all honesty, Iβm am really fucking sure that Minato understood a bit more first-hand than it would appear. We see how similar their ways of impulsive thinking are, and how absolutely unintentionally ridiculous Minato is if he isnβt focused. Kakashi being Kakashi was probably aware of these things, probably saw for himself this same example set by his teacher. In other words, Kakashi is a real good fucking teacher and has made me cry for the only reasons a teacher should ever make someone cry, which is still a very foreign experience.
so my apartment building got a notice board to post fire alarm tests and maintenance announcements and such. the building is pretty well-maintained, so we rarely get notices. the board is big and grey and to think it would be empty like that 99% of the time was a bland boring sin i just couldn't bear, so i vandalized the corner of its empty canvas with a teeny tiny Guy
and within a few days, there was a sudden addition from my one of my neighbors along with a Bunch of thumbtacks. this was an unexpected, but welcome surprise!
well there was still so much space, i figured i'd add another crumb to the art hoard. i'd been playing genshin that day so i drew my favorite grandpa
and like clockwork, new art manifested!! this person is gonna grow to be a great artist i know it. the detail in those stones? hell yeah that's cool.
we're two weeks into it. more neighbors have joined in with their artwork. who knew there were so many artists in my building?? we're onto somethin great here i just know it.
- Worrying for team 7 in Chuunin exam and get reassured by Narutoβs confidence
- Analyze, confirm and told Asuma + Kurenai about Akatsukiβs identity and target (Naruto) [just after receiving 3 days Tsukuyomi time of continuous stabbing]
- Encouraging Shikamaru to check on Naruto and said that he worried for Narutoβs well being more than cracking the code
- Hesitate to say to Naruto about Tsunadeβs Rasen Shuriken ban after hearing Narutoβs dream and determination
- Β instigate Naruto to talk about Minato as his father
- Cushioning Naruto from Rasengan vs Chidori impact
- Let Sasuke dispersed Zabuzaβs Water Clone
- Use his blood to seal Sasukeβs curse seal
- Trained to get stronger to protect Sasuke
- Order Sakura, Naruto, and Shikamaru to bring Sasuke to a safe place
And the reason why he gave that mission is because he can sense the danger of Gaaraβs Bijuu chakra
-Β Investigate Itachiβs intention to Sasuke
[again, just after receiving 3 days Tsukuyomi time of continuous stabbing]
- Evaluate Team 7β²s dream and how far they achieve it, then ask Sasuke about his current dream.
- Making sure of Sakuraβs willingness to enter Chuunin Exam outside Naruto and Sasukeβs insistance.
- Carrying fainted Sakura and shushing the boys from awakening her (and Ino).
- Vouched her positive trait to Tsunade
- Prioritize her safety personally and delegate ninja hound to inform Konoha about the Summit
- Told Sakura to apologize to Kiba, Lee and Sai
- Protect Sakura from remnant of Naruto vs Sasuke impact
- Acknowledge Saiβs loyalty toward Naruto
- Β Worrying about his stand in the Root
-Voiced his faith on Sai
- Boost his confidence and encourage him to not suppress his emotions anymore
According to Kishimoto, Kakashi is the ideal master for him compared to Jiraiya and Iruka.
Interestingly, I find many Naruto fans from Tumblr and Reddit disagree with him. Naruto fanboys on Reddit who is full of power scaling lover dudebros thought that Jiraiya is the ideal master because both Naruto and him are notΒ βgeniusesβ and Jiraiya taught 2 jutsu to him, Summoning Jutsu and Rasengan, compared to Kakashi who just taught about developing Rasen Shuriken (offensive attack speaking). As for Naruto fans on Tumblr prefer Iruka because they generally saw Kakashi as apathetic and emotionless man, so they like Iruka who is more soft and considerate.
Not gonna say that they were wrong because ideal standard is different from person to person, but in Kishimotoβs case, he explicitly said that Kakashi is the ideal master to himΒ because Kakashi isΒ βA protecting Master who instead yelling at you, explain what went wrong and how to fix it. Someone who pushed his student forward instead of yelling him back to square 0β.
Meaning Kishimoto prefers this :Β
(On that panel above, Kakashi has yet become Team 7β²s teacher)
Instead of these :Β
In the same interview, Kishimoto also said that he had a very stern and rude master image in his head, but he wants Kakashi to be a more laid back teacher, gave him kindness and woman-like speech pattern.
TheΒ βwoman-likeβ speech pattern here I think is about how soft-spoken Kakashi is toward children. Compared to other males in Narutoverse, Kakashi has a very calm way to speak with kids and never shy about emotional conversation, like he told Haku about Zabuzaβs feeling when they got Edo-Tensei-ed although Zabuza is still in the deep ofΒ βA shinobi must never show emotionβ motto XD. In fact, I found this similarity between Kakashi and Inariβs conversation :
And Mikoto-Sasukeβs conversation :
Tl : dr = Iβll never declare Kakashi as the best or ideal master (unlike Kishimoto haha). But when I first arrived at Naruto fandom, I was so surprised at fandomβs depiction of Kakashi as emotionless military teacher. Like, did no one see that Kakashi is actually a giant softie? Heβs like 20x way softer compared to my real life teachers. Or is it cultural difference?
As for this topic, I wholeheartly agree with this post :
Although of course I didnβt saw him as loving mother XD (Translation error? The actual page is in Chinese and I use Google Translate Page to convert it to english).
this scene is so unintentionally funny on a second viewing because you can see the exact moment when danzo starts having flashbacks to the last time he wasted 10+ years painstakingly programming a personal protege who then spent five minutes in kakashiβs company and promptly defected
