just wanted to say i can’t follow back from my main, but hi!! i’d also love to have some f1 moots to talk about the races with (or well, moots in spirit) since there’s only so often i can ramble on to my IRLs haha. personally, i’m all for the China Chaos Era here and i’m kinda hoping we get some more action in the rain this weekend. Ik some people have been saying Max is good in the wet, but he seemed to be genuinely having a difficult time in sprint quali, so it could get exciting at the very front (hopium)

Me and you both.. i know some people who like F1 irl but it's always nice to have more!
Anyways it was so interesting to see him struggle during sprint quali because he didn't seem to have grip in some corners even though he was on a flying lap (so hypothetically the tyres should have been somewhat warm) but I'm not much of a engineering person so who knows. I'm a fan of his so obviously I wish him the best for the race but it was super interesting to see the shift after it started raining. If it rains during the race maybe we'll get to see more of a battle for the top3 which is always exciting :))
Got AusGP tickets this week and was excited for Melbourne walk since I wanted to get Zhou's signature before I remembered he probably won't have a seat for 2025... 🥲🥲
In case you haven't seen it already: The Bahrain and Saudi Arabia GP will be held on Saturday NOT Sunday!! Unless you're Australian like me. Then they're on Sunday... 2am/4am 🥲🥲
First thing he does with full control to his instagram is to 1) get that bag and 2) post max on main
Wildcard entries are basically one driver from each race country, who get to race in F1 academy for the weekend. In Miami, the honor goes to Californian Courtney Crone who will race in car 77, supported by QVC.
She's 23 and has raced sportscars for the last 4 years, although she did race single-seaters before that, as well as speedway motorcycles. Some notable achievements of hers are winning the IMSA Diverse Driver Development Scholarship (2022/23), the Gorsline Company Scholarship (2021) and the Formula Speed Scholarship. She was also a nominee for the Team USA Scholarship and W Series.
She currently competes in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA.
The series will no doubt kickstart her return to single-seaters, as well as give her an entry into more international motorsports.
Best of luck to her this weekend!!
Anybody that's feeling worried about Daniel's current quali performance and in particular his gap to Yuki (especially after having to listen to Will Buxton repeat every ten minutes on last weekend's broadcast that "Daniel's average quali gap to Yuki is the exact same as NDV's") needs to have a look at this brilliant data analysis by u/tomedunn on reddit.
Obviously Daniel ideally still needs to find a decent chunk of time vs Yuki in quali, but it's nowhere near as dire as Buxton (and many others) are making it out to be, and I think it does also corroborate Daniel's claim that this is not in any way a McL situation.
- Daniel Ricciardo missed out on Q3 by less than a second, but Yuki Tsunoda will start 10th for his home race!! He sadly didn't improve his time in Q3 but an impressive performance nonetheless.
- A few penalties handed out... firstly to George Russell for an unsafe release into Oscar Piastri (£5000 to Mercedes) and also Nico Hulkenberg for exceeding track limits (time deleted)
- Both Williams missing Q3 again, coming in P19 (LS2) and P14 (AA23). Albon continues to with drive Sargeant's chassis as "the workload to switch the cars back over would be far too much for the mechanics." Although not ideal, the chassis shouldn't be too different weight-wise, and he's expected to have the spare by Miami. The only problem is that the front wing and rear were damaged in FP1, but that has reportedly been fixed.
Q3:
Verstappen of course will start on pole, making 99 pole positions for Red Bull! Lando Norris started Q3 in P2, but Perez put in a good lap and knocked him down to P3. Behind him will be Sainz, then the birthday boy (Piastri), Hamilton, Leclerc, Alonso, Russell, and Tsunoda.
Q2:
Ricciardo, who qualified just 0.055 seconds behind his teammate, will start 11th. Behind him will be Hulkenberg, Bottas, Albon, and Ocon.
Q1:
Stroll starts 16th, knocked out of Q2 by Bottas's final lap, then Gasly, Magnussen, Sergeant and Zhou.
Will be back with a summary of the GP (hopefully) tomorrow!!
