It’s been a few months since Empires s2 came to an end and I wanted to make a piece reflecting on the time we spent with these characters 🥰✨ When season 1 ended I did a series of paintings set to the End Poem, and so I decided to revisit the concept once again, making sure to switch up which line corresponded to which person. This series means a lot to me—in fact, this is one of two big Empires s2 projects I’ve been working on! There’s another one still in the works :D

Appmon and the question of conscious intelligence

In a bit of a follow-up to my post about this question in light of 02, Appmon also has its own more sci-fi oriented take on “what constitutes an individual living being”! Being more of a “hard sci-fi” story than Adventure/02, Appmon’s take is significantly less philosophical, but ties more into the original artificial intelligence-based roots of the original question, and how it might apply to the real world’s immediate future.

I agree that this probably has never happened before and more than that I also believe that everything happens after is a huuge timeline change

LG has never been stabbed and CXS has never got shot by that random man in glasses (I'm sorry I truly don't remember his name), I am not sure if they even met any of them including Li Tianchen and his sister??

And remember that one nightmare Lu Guang had in Bridon when CXS said "Emma, DouDou, we helped so many people!" so it the previous timelines maybe he didn't know that Emma was dead because LG could hide it pretty much successfully

That's just my speculations obv but hope it make sense

Cheng Xiaoshi blames himself for Emma's death and convinces Lu Guang to let him try to save her. He can't control everything cxs does, but surely this wasn't his end goal?

I know that if cxs didn't go he would always wonder if he could've helped, especially since it went so well with Xu Shanshan, so perhaps it was another lesson. But he really doesn't try too hard to stop him from going and this just seems like an easy and traumatic way to ruin an otherwise successful night 😭

I think potentially Lu Guang was curious to see if something could happen. But even then, it still doesn't make any sense why he seems so horrified when it seemed like Emma was going to live
