Question- I’m about 1/3 through writing my httyd princess bride AU and have enough material for around 3 chapters.

If you were to read it, would you want it to upload with a 3 chapter buffer or as a bigger word one shot?

Key question; chapters or one shot uploaded likely in around 1-2 weeks?

Hiccup's friendship with the other Dragon Riders is so special to me.

I have the funny little headcanon that Stan is just causally better at math than Ford now. Now Ford is still very very good at math but in the 30 years he was gone, he mainly used engineering math while Stan used a wide range.

So it’d be really funny for them when sailing across the world, and Ford documenting something using math and Stan will just peak over his shoulder and go “you’re missing a negative.”

It pisses Ford off to no end. (And makes him happy too)

Because of how different the Viking age was to modern day, I love that there’s so many career paths that HTTYD characters would take based on how well it fits with the Viking age careers. Because blacksmiths are very rare now (practically nonexistent) so Hiccup needs a new job. Anyways here’s some of my favorite hobbies/jobs I’ve seen/want modern au Hiccup to maybe have. I’ll only explain some.

Engineering major- inventor

A Digital artist

Architect

Welder

Horseback riding

Human geographer- or geographer in general

Zoology- or more specifically ornithology because hiccup loves studying dragons, why wouldn’t he love to study birds

Cartographer!

A psychics major- because he definitely has to calculate flying dynamics when he’s flying with toothless

A construction worker

Not a job but a hobby, Hiccup absolutely loves DND. This is factual. Argue with the wall.

A sky diving instructor.

Traditional artist who lives off commissions

Idk what job there is for this but traveling the world somehow

Just thought of it- pilot!

If you can think of any more please add them, I want to see how long this list can be. Or add other characters too!

"the longest day" is fucking hilarious. the a plot is hiccup and toothless going absolutely through it against a dragon mother ship and her fighter jets while the b plot is the rest of the gang being so mindfuckingly sleep-deprived they couldn't even wash dragons three times their size and said dragons throwing a coup by locking the gang up in a hole. like?

First time watching RTTE and this is something I noticed.

I think one of my favorite things about Hiccup is that he’s such a good leader. And while he has the trademark charm, charisma, and intelligence that every leader needs. He has the essential thing known as respect. Yes the gang respects him as does Berk but what stands out is the respect he gives the others.

His best ideas come from the twins chaos, his strength comes from Astrid, his knowledge comes from Fishlegs, and weirdly, his lack of ego comes from Snotlout. He respects who they are all as people and listens to them and cares for them. Making them all feel important. And that’s why he works so well as a leader. He’s kind and compassionate but he’s also open minded and willing to change and admit defeat. That’s why he was the one to change Berk for the better and be able to end two wars.

That’s why he is SUCH a good leader.

Hiccup I love you, you’re so well written.
