(novel analysis) Honey-chan meaning

Also if I may, and this is for the “amaenbosan” term (compared to the term Honey-chan in the main novels), is used in Japan for both 1) Children who rely on their parents and 2) Doting lovers, wives, husbands.

I did exactly that. I started with the anime. I loved the Royal Couple so much that I wanted more content and so I got to know about the manga(since I'm not a LN reader). Then I found out a few artwork which were done by Temari-sensei and turned out to be the novel illustrations. I was that of Wolf and Yuuri from Seisakoku arc and I just couldn't contain my curiosity when I realised there is more content. So went ahead and read the Novels from the Seisakoku arc. Then after finishing it and realising the character difference and the amazing work of Takabayashi-sensei I went ahead and read the whole LN from Vol 1 to 17 again. It was highly satisfying!! It is a beautiful work! Truly a masterpiece! With the characters and story line being so wonderfully unique and entertaining in its own way. And the LN is dark!! It is so good that way.

Is this show done? How about the novels its 2019 and i just started watchingthe anime.where does the anime leave off in regards to the manga/novel

Anime and manga are finished, the novels aren’t (although the story line is way ahead of the others).

In my personal opinion watch the anime first, then read the manga , lastly read the novels, so you go from worst to best format.(If you read the novels first it will be impossible to watch the anime.)After about chapter 40 in the anime, it goes its own way separate from the novels. Same with the manga after chapter 96.Both of these take place at the end of the Caloria arc (novel 8).If you really can’t be bothered to read the early novels (which are completely different and so much better than anything else in this series), then read novel 8, to sorta understand where in the anime/manga you left off, and then start with novel 9 (Seisakoku arc) for new material. You will be missing out on: 1) Yuuri being a completely different character   2) Wolfram’s character development. 3) The yuuram relationship development. But hey, if you wanna skip everything that’s good in this series is up to you.Cheers!

As is I was hyped for Novel 18 after finishing Novel 17 with its various cliffhangers and plot twists!! Now I know what might take place and that it is dark and it involves my dear Wolf and YuuRam moments as well!!! My heart cannot take it!! Please Takabayashi-sensei update!!!!

I hope she writes before I turn into a skeleton while waiting for it.... I'll become like Kohhi and go haunt her then...

Whats your personal analysis summary/ any thoughts of the last novel 17

Sorry for the late reply. What are my personal thoughts on novel 17? I’ll try my best:

Novel 17 -summary & opinions

Let me itemize the main points:

1) Shinou: Shinou gets out of the pouch thing, by borrowing maryoku, meaning that he doesn’t have it himself. He then has Anissina work for him, to keep him in the physical world with a sort of battery (underwear), so that he doesn’t have to be borrowing strength from Ulrike constantly. This gives him freedom of movement. At the end of the novel he will threat Wolfram to work for him, making sure he won’t say anything to Yuuri, he also threatens him saying: You’d do anything for the person you love and your family right? You’ve always been like this. Making it clear they’re not safe if Wolfram doesn’t agree to his terms. Assessment: Shinou’s an ass.2) Water box: In novel 17, the guys find out about the water box in Darco.  At the end of the novel Yuuri will touch his box. We already know from stories after novel 17 (e.g Do you want an exorcism?), that touching the box has affected him and given him yet another personality. Only Wolfram, who was in close proximity to his box, knows how Yuuri felt, however it doesn’t seem like they can share notes, based on Shinou getting in the way? Yuuri was saved by Conrad because everyone else in the room was being electrocuted. Assessment: Water box is gonna be a problem, or is it?3) Ranatan: The Prison warden who looks and talks just like Yuuri’s mom. She said that she wanted to ‘become one with the box’ to stop it. But I always wondered…  weren’t the boxes not supposed to be reactive to regular people? Here’s what the novel said:Her mind was slowly corrupted, and the sense of responsibility she had towards anything sinful, lost out to her own desire for the Box. In the end, she even considered merging her destiny with the Box. If she’d gone on like that, it really would have led her, to be destroyed with it.Why did she want the box so much? Why was she getting destroyed? Didn’t the guys at Big Shimaron had a box for a long time and it was just in storage? I know, the fire box responded to Alazon’s plead and brought Saralegui back to life, but Alazon was powerful and had houryoku and was in an enchanted tunnel… what did Ranatan have? So I’ve talked about this in the past, it has been made pretty clear in the novels that half-mazoku, half humans, don’t really possess maryoku (not even Conrad, and he’s a direct descendant from Shinou). The other thing is that Murata says “the keys” have to be bound to a soul and to a particular bloodline. Why would Yuuri have the water key if he’s not a Wincott?  So, he must be. So who’s the Wincott? Yuuri’s dad? Or his mom, that looks like Ranatan who was corrupted by the box? My personal opinion is that there’s something fishy here. I think Ranatan might have been a half-key, and that’s why the box corrupted her. (The Wincotts were human at some point remember? They ruled Caloria until they ‘went crazy’ and were kicked out). Assessment: I think her character introduction had a purpose.4) Kinan and Hawk-eye:  This novel closes one of the mysteries of maurma. Why did Kinan shoot Wolfram in novel 9!? It is explained that Kinan was promised the body of his older brother who allegedly died at war 20 years ago in Big Shimaron. However! It is discovered here, that his brother is Hawkeye, alive in Darco, and Conrad pretty much reunited them at the prison (the ‘reunion’ hasn’t taken place yet, but will, now that both of them are in the prison). Assessment: Explanation completed.5) Conrad goes back home: Well, final-fucking-ly! What is going on with this dude!? Wasn’t he planting seeds in Shimaron? Now he’s back? I feel he should have ‘been back’ after Seisa. His explanation of ‘needing to grow seeds of democracy? Anti-monarchy? Who knows what in Shimaron didn’t happen at all cuz he ended up in the prison right after Seisa. I’m just glad he’s back, but what was he even doing? Are we supposed to take the info in the ura cd at face value? Did Shinou scare him after giving him the arm? I don’t know, but I would like a proper explanation for his constantly irrational behavior, and we haven’t gotten one besides the ‘Takabayashi-sensei hates him and doesn’t want him around’. I’m sure there are many ways one could explain what he did, the drama cd explanation was good. Can we get that in writing? Assessment: We still don’t understand anything about this boy.6) Fanfanis a baddie: Not confirmed but he seems to be looking for the boxes. Cherie’s relationship may not last long. Assessment: Future enemy?7) Royal Couple: “ Those words hurt me deeply inside my heart, a pain as though I was burnt in an instant. Because I had an experience like that, in which I nearly lost my most important person, just because he was wearing someone else’s clothes. “And this is what Yuuri thinks when Hawkeye tells him about what he had done. Yuuri used the ‘most important person’ line, which we all know what that means in this novel, to refer to Wolfram. Assessment: Royal couple ftw!Finally the afterword: Takabayashi sensei says that the next novel will be darker and with emphasis on Wolfram. A drama cd with canon info that came out after novel 17, mentions that Wolfram will be aloof and sneaking out for fire box/Shinou purposes in the middle of the night, while Yuuri has no clue and thinks he’s cheating. Murata and Josak seem to be onto the fact that something’s off and will be investigating. As we know, Shinou threatened Wolfram with hurting Yuuri and his family if he says something, so he won’t be talking. It looks like novel 18 will be awesome…. that’s if …it ever gets written. 

I completely agree! And I am seriously looking forward to more of YuuRam scenes💜 And Takabayashi-sensei's work is really great! Such beautiful and unique characters and such an entertaining story line! I do hope she starts writing again!

Is Yuuri still engaged to Wolfram?

Hi anon! Yes, and very much so, let me post an excerpt of one of the most recent stories:

Wolf: "If I was in trouble, and I was missing something important. And you had one that was exactly the same ...." Yuuri: "I'd lend it to you, of course" (Yuuri) I thought about this, literally with my hands on his chest. In fact, with my hand, that was pressed against his chest, I could feel that the speed of my partner's and my heartbeat was the same. Anyone would get blood rushing to their brains when they're seriously thinking about something. When I could calm down a little, I let out a small sigh. Yuuri: "Or rather, when it comes to things that I can give you, I would give you anything, Wolf.” One of my favorite scenes, couldn’t help myself! Also in the latest short story published last year there’s a lot of sexual hints and they talk about a ‘secret photo’ that was taken in Yuuri’s bedroom (and we never find out what it is), but the ideas Yuuri has is either HIM completely naked during ‘baseball practice’ (in his bedroom), or one of Wolfram’s butt peaking from under his negligee (which makes us think about the length of that negligee tbh). At any rate, still engaged, not married, very happy together in all the latest works.

If you like the Royal Couple, you should check the paperback novels (the original work). They’re really so much better than the anime or manga. Cheers!

(analysis ) Healing, maryoku and longevity

I’m back at trying to figure out things in maruma. 

Canon

1) In novel 1, Gunter said that mazoku owe their longevity to the healing hands tribe. The tribe has been in Shin makoku for 2000 years, and they got there because humans persecuted them and drove them out. 2) In further novels we learn that: 1) mazoku get sick if there are houryoku stones around, and that they can’t use their majutsu if they don’t have elements to control. - Majutsu (ma skills) then, seems to be the power of controlling MA elements with your maryoku (ma power). How well you can do it connects solely to the “quality” of your soul, but it still needs training. Something like: you have a max cap in your ability, but you need training to reach that max. (Julia talks about training for decades in “Falling in love”). - Healing powers are not well explained. ————————————————————————————————-

Analysis

First question: Is healing for mazoku connected to maryoku?

We can infer that ‘Yes, it is’… because Adalbert uses houjutsu to heal Yuuri, and it feels different and stings and such… so, it’s fair to say that the same applies to mazoku and that they use their majutsu for healing.

But here’s the thing: the green tribe didn’t have maryoku before reaching Shin Makoku. 

Second question: Is healing majutsu the same as ‘healing hand tribe’ power?

And here the answer is YES. I just went through the canon and realized it’s actually IN THERE!  Novel 10, chapter 6

(Gisela) “The closer we get to Seisakoku, the stronger the discomfort, and it’s possible that majutsu can’t be used either, naturally the same goes for the abilities of the ‘healing hand tribe’ . But Your Excellency, I just hope you will understand this. Healing was never just majutsu. The true essence of healing is the healer’s heart, a kind heart is a necessity, and the most important thing is the modesty of wanting to heal the wounded.”

But then HOW could they use it before getting to Shin Makoku?????

Third question: Can the healing hand tribe use their abilities in human territory?

One might infer YES, because they came from human territory because their long life and healing abilities were scaring the humans, so yes? So here’s the real question… why didn’t Gisela save Julia. I mean… she was right there. Julia had time to ask her to burn her body so… yo Gisela what’s up with that?

Fourth question: If the healing hand tribe are to be thank for mazoku’s long life, and their abilities are not maryoku-related, can we infer it’s simply them healing mazoku that made them live longer?

I would say Yes. What other reason would there be? It would also explain why mazoku age differently. The more healing, the longer you live. The traits seem to also be passed down through generations. Otherwise there’d be mazoku who live the same as humans if they never needed healing.  (Such as earth mazoku who never got the healing)

So 2000 years of healing and passing down those traits has made most mazoku look 1/5th of their age when compared to human beings.

Fifth Question: What about the odd ones?

Cherie, Ulrike, Chevallier. How can Chevallier look younger than Cherie if he’s older than her and was also a maou? How can Ulrike have such a different aging!? As you may have notice they’re all related to Shinou, so he’s definitely doing something to them, but what precisely would be guessing.  Hope you enjoyed~!
