Don’t think about the fact in Trespasser Lavellan can accuse Solas of using the Inquisition and that he didn’t care about them at all yet he still proceeds to call her vhenan in the saddest voice ever. He feels his regret so strongly that it summons a demon in Skyhold’s rotunda. Proceeds to tell agents of the inquisition “when you report back to the inquisitor say that I’m sorry” with an emotion that makes his voice crack. I’m sorry but that man is gonna be on. his. knees. when he sees her again.

Personally I don't see this at all. I wonder if part of it is that people enjoy the animosity. People love a good enemies to lovers. And you can absolutely play solavellan that way based on his dislike of the dalish. I personally disagreed with solas much as lavellan. People might also be projecting because they are enjoying Solas on the new style as much as the rest of us iykwim

did they intend to give solas and rook three times the chemistry they gave solas and lavellan in the base inqusition game or am i witnessing the funniest possible thing bioware could've done

i think the most classic bioware move of all time might be catastrophically failing to answer and clarify major lore reveals in their game and instead just glossing over them quickly and hoping no one asks further questions, and then revealing them and their story and character relevance in the god damn art book after the game

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

"Peaceful beginnings, gentle giant gardeners, and curious spirits"

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

"The spirits saw the dwarves as they tended to the Titans, and they wanted to try making bodies for themselves"

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

"The spirits made physical bodies for themselves from the 'flesh' of the Titans. The first elves were born, and the first war began"

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

"A brutal war raged on between the elves and the Titans, only ending when one elf (Solas) rendered the Titans 'tranquil', capturing their souls"

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

"The elves brought a powerful war trophy home"

"With the Titans rendered tranquil, dwarves lost their connection to magic. They fled into the bodies of their fallen hosts"

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

"With the power that came from the captured Titan souls, the elves built the greatest empire Thedas would ever see"

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

The gods drew upon the power of the Titans' souls to gain more power. The imprisoned souls became twisted with rage. This became the blight."

I Think The Most Classic Bioware Move Of All Time Might Be Catastrophically Failing To Answer And Clarify

"To contain the blight outbreak, Solas performed a desperate blood-magic ritual. He bound up the magic of the world behind a veil and powered it with the blood of the evil gods."

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???????????????? I GET SOME OF THIS IS IMPLIED IN THE GAME BUT NONE OF IT IS ACTUALLY STATED OUTRIGHT. I THOUGHT THEY JUST DIDNT FEEL LIKE FIGURING OUT THEIR OWN LORE THEMSELVES BUT THEY DID IT BEHIND THE SCENES IT JUST DIDNT MAKE IT INTO THE GAME?????

link to the artbook preview if you want to see for yourself, but beware of how much its going to make you yearn for what was lost. maybe it was on purpose as a fun-meta commentary for the player on how solas feels :D

Shoot someone posted it but I can't find it. He says something like "I understand this is difficult for you to comprehend" and out definitely came off as 'you're beneath me' and varric says on the last line "who are you trying to convince me or yourself" Ugh I think they removed the vid cus I cannot find it 😩

I Really Wanna Know What They Say. Bc I Just Know Bioware Wrote A Script For That And Gave It To Them.

i really wanna know what they say. bc I just know bioware wrote a script for that and gave it to them.

i feel like my brain processed some of it as solas going "I understand this is difficult" or words to that effect and I really wanna know if he meant like in a compassionate way or in a "i realize you're too STUPID to get it varric, BUT" [and also if this is in earnest or if he's like guarding them both by being the bad guy]

Actually feel a rush of happiness when this happens 😫 when harding says "Don't make us look bad" and it's funny cause I really am the companions in this game barely do any damage

A black banner with the image of various dishes of food to the left, to the right the words: Foods of Thedas

Updated: 2023/12

I originally posted this on my old blog. Since posting that, I've found other foods, drinks and ingredients. As of now this list is updated with everything found in media released as of Oct 2023.

Like the original, this is still a very long post that contains all canonical desserts, dishes, drinks, ingredients, and sauces. Unlike the original, I could not list canonically suggested food and ingredients, nor every codex, item, letter, ect in the sources. Because it was too long. I did add them to the individual post.

Like in the individual posts, the list has the country of origins next to each item and any relevant information. Such as ingredients, use, notes, or trivia. For the canonically suggested foods and drinks I list what their real world uses are for your reference as to what they might be used for in Thedas.

"Dragon's Breath" is offered as an alternative name for this drink as it is served while lit on fire in the glass and burns on the way down.

The Golden Nug - Made with a base of effervescent white Seleney wine, sweetened with a dash of West Hill brandy and a splash of pomegranate juice. Muddled with raspberries and garnished with a sprig of Royal Elfroot. The goal is to imitate the soft pink colour of a nug.

Posset - A drink made of hot milk curdled with ale, wine, or other liquor and typically flavored with spices. Can be drunk as a delicacy or as a cold remedy.

The Randy Dowager - Rumored to be created by the editor of the periodical, it is a tall glass of Abyssal Peach liquor and fresh cream, garnished with sugared rose petals and served on a silk handkerchief with a scandalous rhyming couplet inked by the bartender. (Orlais)

To Cure a Cold - a folk remedy that requires boiling whiskey and adding lemon juice and crushed garlic.

Merrill's Blood Soup recipe From Dragon Age: The Official Cookbook: Tastes Of Thedas.
Merrill's Blood Soup recipe From Dragon Age: The Official Cookbook: Tastes Of Thedas.

Merrill's Blood Soup recipe from Dragon Age: The Official Cookbook: Tastes of Thedas.

Transcribed lore blurb:

"Merrill's Blood Soup In the same vein as Llomerryn red, this is not actually blood - it's just red. Th color comes from the beetroot, which gives the soup a rich, earthy flavor that goes well with the roasted chickpeas sprinkled on top. Some might find the vibrant crimson hue off-putting, in the same way that many shun the practice of blood magic. However, as mages like Merrill have shown, I think it's best to not judge by appearances or by what you think you know. Take the time to experience things for yourself, and you might find yourself pleasantly surprised!"

I've Finally Finished My Dread Wolf Tarot Embroidery From Dragon Age Inquisition! Clocking In At 64 Hours

I've finally finished my Dread Wolf tarot embroidery from Dragon Age Inquisition! Clocking in at 64 hours of work, it measures 11.5 X 19.5 cm and I've been chipping away it during my downtime at work. My fellow community council members on Dragon Age: The Veilguard may have been biased while helping me choose which character's card to do, but I'm so grateful they did because it was so much fun to work on, and so different from the previous ones.

This is my fourth large Dragon Age character card project, and the first one I started since I uprooted everything to train as a costumer. Having a portable yet elaborate project was comforting while travelling for new experiences.

Now, who's excited for the new game later this year?!
