Just as a reminder to those hyped about side order, this is Nintendo’s official opinion of Agent 4 from the Splatoon website:
Look at her face. Does she look like a pushover? Someone who is just a little wacky? No. This is a teenager who fought an entire Empire. And *won*. People I know keep saying she’s not as impressive as Three or Eight and like?? Just because she did the same thing as Three makes it no less impressive you ding dongs. In fact, she did it with less help than Three had, AND kicked Octavio to the curb WHILE HE HAD CALLIE ON HIS SIDE. She’s practically a force of nature. And it’s not like the Splatoon devs to forget something like this.
No matter what your hopes for side order are, don’t expect Four to be some damsel in distress or anything similar. Remember what the contents of the Splatoon 2 campaign were. Remember that Four is not a member of the New Squidbeak Splatoon because “someone has to be Agent 4!!!” Because I can almost guarantee the devs haven’t forgotten. I say with complete confidence that their definition of Four being “pushover” is a red herring. She’s going to kick our ass on February 22nd.
Get ready.
Yeah, so, is this a safe space for me to say what the fuck? Not a single conversation - not even a single interaction - between Jinx & Sevika acknowledging what happened with Isha? As if the three of them hadn’t become a little family unit of their own. Certainly a choice.
I want Syndicate minors, so uh.
AU where Philza’s a good dad, and he’s like…yeah, I’m not leaving you guys alone after this, so he adopts all the minors and they decide to eventually roll with it. When Tommy’s exiled, Phil gives him Techno’s coordinates, and Tommy runs there purposely after he realizes what Dream was up to, and Tubbo is soon sent to join them by Phil, who realized the stress put on his shoulder, and that he was pretty much miserable, said ‘fuck that’, and sent him off to be hidden by Techno and reunite with Tommy, making Quackity president instead.
He eventually meets Ranboo, Drista, and Purpled shortly after, and also sends them there, though they don’t stay there originally, despite coming to see it as a safe spot. Doomsday still happens, but Techno and Phil talk it out with the kids, and while they agree it may be better for everyone to get a fresh start, they make them sneak out all the original history books and stuff, and give everyone a day’s warning to get their important items out before they blow it up.
The Syndicate is eventually formed, though it’s more chill than before, and they pretty much just want to make sure nothing turns out like L’manberg, with the secret agenda of taking down Dream, as well as trying to figure out how to revive Wilbur, who currently haunts and aids them as Ghostbur, with his probably-not-sheep, Friend.
Like, Ranboo, the minors all have names from one of the rivers of the underworld.
Purpled is Styx, Tommy is Phlegethon, Drista is Cocytus and Tubbo is Acheron. Might also add Sam and Puffy to it too, I’m not sure.
Guys I need your help to prove a point. A friend of mine is developing a high quality 2D heroic fantasy animated show, that everyone wants to see but no one to fund. The broadcasters and platforms are telling her that heroic fantasy is a niche genre that doesn’t sell as is 2D animation.
So….
Like if you enjoy 2D animation.
Like if you enjoy heroic fantasy .
Can I propose an au idea? An au where Tubbo dies in the vault at the hands of Dream, and finds himself in the past, when the sbi are all together, before entering the Dream SMP. He’s not the only one - Wilbur has also found himself in the past, although he only remembers up until the moment of his death.
The catch is that, sort of like Ghostbur, when they get to the past, they’re primarily driven by the opposite emotions that they had around the time of their death.
Wilbur, who had gone off the deep end, ends up much more like Ghostbur in the past. It’s not entirely the same, he hasn’t forgotten anything and doesn’t forget things, but he’s primarily driven by a want to keep his family happy and safe. And since he’s a living person, not a ghost, he’s still capable of feeling other emotions, changing and evolving.
Tubbo on the other hand, who stayed himself until the end, who spent his last moments comforting Tommy with a smile on his face, wakes up bitter and angry. He feels used, is furious that his own death was because no one thought of him as his own person, just as an extension of Tommy, and wants revenge on the people who killed him and made him suffer. And if people see him as a bad guy for it, well, at least they’ll be seeing him as a individual with agency at all.
Either they don’t realize that the other is in the past and are working around each other, or more interestingly, they realize that they’re both in the past, and Wilbur has to try and convince Tubbo not to ruin Phil and Techno (among others), since they haven’t done anything yet.
Healing shenanigans ensue?
Oh, this is interesting. Time travel AUs are always fun to work with, and this could go down several paths.
So both Wilbur and Tubbo end up in the past. Are they in a private home world? Smp Earth?
The others seeing the changes would be interesting too. Tommy is such a source of conflict, for both of them, but Tubbo especially. Wilbur can think back on his actions with a much clearer mind, and he regrets them, deeply.
Tubbo...well, Tommy’s his best friend. But like you said, everyone only saw him as an extension of Tommy. And in his last moments, as a way to hurt Tommy. The equal anger and guilt about being used like that...
God, all the SBI are going to get whiplash when dealing with the new Wilbur and Tubbo, but Tommy’s probably going to get the brunt of it, all things considered.
If they don’t realize they’re both in the past? Wilbur tries to pull his family together before they have the chance to fall apart. Does he succeed? Does he not? We could have SBI sticking together and maybe even joining the Dream Smp as a group, or coming sooner in the pogtopia arc, or maybe not even joining at all.
Tubbo could stay and plot, or he could just straight up run away, and the SBI could see him years later, as an entirely different person. In what way? Who knows. Maybe he healed in those years away, got a better life, set himself free. Maybe he grew more bitter, more angrier, more desperate to prove he was a person, and not just something to be tossed aside or used against others.
They realize they’re both in the past? Prime bonding material between Tubbo and Wilbur. Maybe Wilbur convinces Tubbo to hold off on making Phil and Techno’s lives hard on the condition that they actually change for the better, and it’s a visible change. Maybe Tubbo still ups and leaves, and Wilbur and the SBi chase after him.
We could have late night conversations between Tubbo and Wilbur, about their presidencies, and regrets, and Tommy. About how they could change things for the better, or just never get involved at all. Wilbur’s all for the former, and Tubbo preferring the latter.
Moral dilemmas between both parties, heartbreaking conversations, and their friends and family trying to piece together these people they’ve known all their lives, but who now seem so broken and different.
Welcome to the space age, ladies and gentlemen
what if you’re giving birth to twins and it’s the end of daylights savings day and the older twin was born first but the second twin travels back in time and is born an hour before the first twin, would that be fucked up or what.
i think it would also be so cool if parallel canon was jelletonified
Tubbo also canonically has horns in the Dream SMP, so more differences between the two. Though the reason for the horns is unknown other than not being dadschlatt
When I said "At this point I am just straight up writing fanfiction," this is the post I was talking about.
Wait a second, Irish Man playing Hollow Knight. RTGame? Love them. Anyway, love all the AUs that people have made for the Dream SMP.
To be fair, fundy storyline was that he was like a Phoenix and reborn from a young age for his first canon life loss, so there was a Fundy from before, but well, they always said is harder to people to get out of something you were born in than not
O MAYBE THAT DREAM AMMNESIA THING IS HIS OLDER SELF TRYING TO GET HIM TO WAKE UP AND SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING but XD never let him outright say it so he has to get mysterious while being hunted in dream plan by this God that get ideas from what happens in this realm and translates it to to history. That's why he words it like it's a Fundy ability and because Fundy too can access and mess with this realm too
And maybe because Fundy knows deeply about this world and its tricks and how to change it and explore it at his favour XD had to make it like he was born from this history and not was trow in it, but of cource the fox boy finds the glitches and edit things on his own so to busy him XD trow to him too a lots of angst to deal with
...I like Fundy a normal amount shut up
Oh wow I’m very behind on Fundy lore. I’ve been so focused on Jack Lore and an Irish Man playing Hollow Knight that I forgot to see the other lore.
Anyways. Oh boy. The dreams being his older self trying to get him to wake up and see what’s happening? Oh no. Oh dear. Now Fundy is freaking the hell out with this. And Fundy also has a lot of angst in this to nerf him or else he’ll be too powerful.
it gets me a little irritated when people act like mono isn't supposed to be an intrinsically compassionate foil to six's character.
every moment of his character in cutscenes with six demonstrates kindness and compassion. his hand is always reaching out to offer comfort and reassurance. when they're separated, despite the fact that he's answering the tower's call, he still goes out of his way to ensure that him and six are reunited and that he is safe again instead of continuing to push forth to the pale city.
the only aggression he shows is towards entities that are hostile to himself. he does what he has to do to survive, which is something that him and six do have in common. but him smashing the bullies open or lighting the doctor on fire doesn't negate the fact that he is being portrayed as a child who is inherently more tender-hearted and trusting than the girl he's travelling with.
mono is afraid of being alone. by the time we pick up six's story again within the maw, we can see that she has become adept at being alone. they're stark opposites.
even the simple theory of shapes in character design tells us so much about the two of them. mono's shape is square. this indicates to us that he is strong, sturdy, reliable, and supportive. six's shape is triangular. triangles signify that a character is cunning, sneaky and dangerous. (sometimes it is used to indicate that a character is 'evil,' but we know all too well as a fandom that using that term to describe six is doing her a complete disservice and shows a deep misunderstanding of her character.)
all this to say that it's upsetting that people see the need to try and make mono out to be more edgy than he actually is, often just in retaliation against the misunderstandings people have about six's nature. this series is very open to interpretation, so it's fair enough if you personally believe him to have a darker side. but it's my personal belief that isn't the correct portrayal of his character and there's very little evidence of that being the case within the series.
