It's not that hard.
heās not kidding
I do not want to get upset or snap, but many people are losing their patience, me included.
One of the big and mildly upsetting events of this decade (yet not nearly as tragic as obvious disasters humanity has faced), is how the dream smp fandom tags their stuff.
Iāll put this lightly: it is being seen as greatly annoying and distressing to see spam and improperly tagged posts. It is spam, it is clogging up posts, it is rude and ignores basic internet ettequite.
Please, I am begging you, do not use #minecraft or #mineblr. You have #dream smp, #dsmp, and #mcyt.
For the love of everyone and yourself, use YOUR tags and YOUR tags alone.
Okay to reblog
People, and I cannot stress this enough: just hire a graphic designer.
they won !!!!
lmao I think the egg either just hates minors or people with trauma
The Sam Nook bit is so funny but could you imagine sam hitting us with this line?
sam is straight up making Tommy clean up the server without him even realizing and it's the funniest thing ever
I PRETEND I DO NOT SEE IM WACHING RANBOO AND TECHNO CONTENT FUCK IM CRYING IM ALSO SAYING SAM BEING BROTHER FIGURE TO TOMMH PLASE WHATS HAPPENING
Okay but like I am genuinely interested as to what exactly the egg told Tubbo which made him cry??? Me and my angst craving brain would say that the egg was just reminding him of past failures and mistakes but then again do I want to hurt myself by thinking that?
Imagine you're the leader of this powerful cult surrounding a telepathic egg that expands its vines and followers every day and the one that dares to defy you is a fucking child who never seems to die and his best friend holding his hand, both making fun of you
also a half enderman child vandalizing your posters with bad jokes
I hate the phrase apologist so much. Iām not an APOLOGIST Iām an ENJOYER. Iām not trying to justify c!Phil blowing up his childās pet but I ENJOY his character and think he has complex and interesting motivations outside of being a father. I donāt agree with c!Jack Manifold wanting to hurt Tommy but I ENJOY watching him be a fucked up and evil little man. Iām not excusing c!Wilbur for blowing up a country but I ENJOY his dramatic bitchy monologues and think he shouldnāt be so demonized due to his mental illness.Ā
Normalize not entirely agreeing with a character from a moral standpoint yet enjoying watching them be fucked up and evil because itās entertaining and funny.Ā
with the knowledge that sam specifically built the prison to mirror what tommy went through in exile, that explains the entire vibe that the prison.... was specifically made to scare tommy. not just because he once was supposed to be it's prisoner. but even as he walked those halls as a guest, the prison was meant to terrify him. the careful isolation in order to enter the prison- the only way out being through nether portals monitored and controlled by sam. having to drop all of his items when he arrived, just so he couldn't try anything. being killed over and over, even after he'd dropped all his items, just in case he had anything that could be used to fight back. sam's contract including a clause that stated tommy had to do everything he said without question, even if it meant killing himself, which put tommy completely at his mercy. (and even if he refused, sam could have just as easily killed tommy himself.) sam's words after poisoning tommy being, "I want you to be as low as possible and as weak as possible." forcing tommy to once again question his relationship with dream, out loud, to a friend he barely knows anymore. his unempathic march through the prison with tommy in tow, isolating him more and more with every locked room and fortified wall. and in the end, tommy's growing paranoia leading him to ask if sam would betray him, and sam's answer, "if I wanted to betray you, I would have done it already." no wonder sam felt off! no wonder he felt suspicious! in that moment, he was just as much tommy's warden as he was dream's. an uncaring overseer trained to keep his prisoners in their place. which makes it make so much more sense now that tommy was the first person to visit. it was meant to scare one person, and it did it's job perfectly. sam did his job as the warden perfectly. and tommy pushed through regardless. because today, tommy conquered more than just his fear of dream. he conquered his exile as a whole, and took one step further on the road to finally recovering from his trauma.
this is so incredibly funny
A well needed Reminder, for a few of you in particular
HEY LOOK AT THAT HIGH WAISTED MAN HES GOT SILK TOUCH HANDS
can we all agree that if ranboos tumblr gets exposed somehow we all just have a radio rebel moment and cover for the boy?
like old times
is this what the kids call vindication?
the pure catharsis i felt when tommy said this>>>>>
When I see people talking negatively about Dream SMP and saying things like it doesn't deserve its massive viewership and that it's just kids screaming, or that only children would be capable of enjoying it, or most damningly that it's low effort content I know they've never watched a big plot stream like today.
Because, enjoy it or not, Dream SMP is probably the highest effort content you can find on twitch. It's like a 2 hour live theater performance with no scene breaks, and half of it is improv. All the "sets" are painstakingly built by hand, sometimes while being live and in character. It took Sam dozens of hours to build the prison, most if which he wasn't paid for since he didn't stream to avoid spoilers.
The amount of talent, EFFORT, and dedication that goes into pulling something like this off is astronomical.
And some of the old guard of twitch and youtube along with their viewership don't seem to understand that. A comedic video game review or a video essay may take a long time to script and edit but imagine the anxiety of having to pull something like this off live in front of 1 million people, and that's not even getting into how many will watch the vod. Last night Punz was talking about how anxious he is to get more involved in the roleplay for that reason.
It's a new era of live entertainment. These kids write their own lines, are their own camera operators, their own stage crew, their own stunt doubles. Even D&D doesn't require you to have a mastery of video game mechanics. These roleplays don't just require improvised lines but movements and fight scenes as well.
So even if Dream SMP isn't everyone's cup of tea I think it deserves respect from other creators and their fanbases.
"It's dumb and boring" says someone who's stream content of choice is just watching someone be good at first person shooters. "Just stream minecraft for clout, it's easy lol..." says someone who's never watched a stream and doesn't understand why Dream SMP specifically is so popular.
This isn't toy channels or a Fortnite loot boxes scam. Just because something is enjoyed by kids doesn't make it exploitative or low effort.
The spy
mcyt on twitter after dream was put in jail >:]]
