Legends of Rock #06 - Paul McCartney

Fab four going strong with the guy holding it down on the low end and writing a whole lot of tunes - some not the best, but some timeless and wonderful. Don't get much bigger a rockstar than Paul.

I’ve been a bit busy with Regulation Room stuff and summer stuff like bicycling and getting real panicky about the warmth and sunshine almost being over. I drew some people’s heads in pixelart for the RegRoom team members page which’ll be in the next version that is launching real soon.

Year In Review

Phew, today marks the 2 year anniversary of my starting this blog. It was a slow starter the first year, trying to figure out exactly what to post and how to talk about my work. The blog underwent a huge shift this past year, in tone, content and importance for me. It has become a place to experiment with new techniques, make jokes, write music, and share what goes on in my everyday life as an illustrator and designer. I plan on pumping up the volume exponentially this year on the blog and all things AE. Looking back at the year, I picked out a few posts I was particularly proud of and hope to match and maybe top in 2012.

2011 was the year of illustration. My work shifted heavily towards hand-crafted, fun imagery - a departure from my more precise and clean design previously. My 6 favorite images of the year pretty clearly show this trend.

This spring I was asked to create a suite of wedding collateral for Meg & Mike. I worked up a few invites, some table cards, and even a stencil for a special wedding brew. It was an ultimate pleasure creating this package for a super sweet couple. Check out more of the work from the wedding right here!

Wrestlemania 31 Icons

Made some icons for this year’s Wrestlemania. They were printed out as stickers and used on bet-sheet score cards. Pretty fun little project.

6:28am New comic! Whipped this one up after an idea I had in the shower - where all the good ideas happen. Poor guy just got his sunrise and magma swell times mixed up.

Bird 10: American Robin

Boy you guys, I'm coming down the final stretch with the Birds Of Brooklyn poster. This cute, colorful robin is the latest addition and I'm real glad he's on it. Keep posted about the poster.

I’ve unsubscribed (I use this word loosely, in a non-factual manner) from Apple emails no fewer than 15 times in the past few years. It has not yet stuck, but I hope that someday I’ll at least stop getting the internal memos.
