Body of Christ inscribed IΓ XC, cross-nimbed, eyes closed, hands crossed over cross-inscribed veil (aër) covering body from waist to knees, flanked by six angels, inscribed ΑΓΙΟC ΑΓΙΟC ΑΓΙΟC (“Holy holy holy”) among the angels at either side, two seraphim above; field filled with rosettes and stars, border filled with foliate ornament surrounding medallions enclosing crosses alternating with medallions enclosing rosettes. At Christ’s feet, a garbled inscription—possibly reassembled—can be reconstructed as: Μνήσθητι Κ(ύρι)ε τὴν ψυχὴν τοῦ δ(ού)λου σου Μιχαήλ(ου) τοῦ Κυπριανοῦ (“Remember, O Lord, the soul of thy servant Michael, the son of Kyprianos”).
