everyday  used  to  be  the  same  in  barbieland  until  it  wasn’t  –  a  rupture  of  some  sorts  occurred  about  a  year  ago,  when  stereotypical  barbie  had  to  go  to  the  real  world  and    solve  the  issue.  and  apparently,  it  was  this  barbie’s  turn.  she  waved  farewell  to  every  barbie,  ken  and  midge,  skipper  &  allan  too.  it  was  comforting  to  know  someone  was  waiting  for  her  return  before    she  even  left,  but  it  was  something  that  had  to  be  done.  urgent,  nonetheless.  no  more  barbies  should  bare  witness  to  these  horrific  conditions.  as  it  turns  out,  the  scenarios  get  worse  each  time!  barbie  found  out  the  hard  way  that  her  morning  milk  was  spoilt  and  that  water  is,  in  fact,  wet  (  also  that  showers  seem  to  work?? ).

and  off  she  went  into  the  real  world,  to  fix  this  catastrophe.  but  this  world  seems  duller  than  barbie  mentioned.  ceruleans  wander  in  horror  at  the  sights  of  …  she  squints  at  a  bill  barbieboard,  reading  G  -  O  -  T  -  H  -  A  -  M    .    E  -  L  -  E  -  C  -  T  -  I  -  O  -  N  -  S.  interesting  name,  she  thought,  wondering  who  gotham  was.  as  she  walked  down  a  busy  street,  barbie  tried  to  stop  individuals  to  ask  them  about  mattel  headquarters,  but  everyone  seemed  to  ignore  her.  weird,  definitely  weird.

🙶  excuse  me  sir  -  sir!  sir?  🙷  another  failed  attempt  and  melancholy  started  to  set  in.  this  was  harder  than  stereotypical  barbie’s  encounter  with  the  real  world.  🙶  sir,  excuse  me,  🙷  she  tried  once  more,  this  time  lightly  patting  @chaoticjoke's  shoulder,  unlike  the  previous  attempts  which  were  exclusively  verbal.  🙶  hi!  can  you  tell  me  where  to  find  mattel?  🙷  a  bright  smile  flashed,  she  couldn’t  let  down  courtesy,  even  if  time  was  important  and  ruth  knows  what  would  happen  if  she  took  too  long  to  fix  the  rupture  in  barbieland.

barbie's  honestly  surprised  she  hasn't  broken  that  poor  device  –  luckily,  eddie  was  there  to  save  the  day.  she's  looking  in  awe  at  the  powered  up  walkman,  a  smile  slowly  creeping  up  onto  her  countenance.    "  you  actually  did  it?!  "    she's  still  confused,  but  she's  got  the  spirit!  therefore,  a  very  happy  barbie  opens  her  arms  and  pulls  him  into  a  hug.  it  was  the  only  way  she  could  show  him  the  appreciation  sprung  from  within.    "  thank  you,  eddie!  "    she  mumbles  as  she  pulls  away  from  the  hug,  quickly  going  through  her  bag  to  show  him  what  she  wanted  to  listen  to.  it  was  a  cassette  for  madonna's  material  girl,  painted  over  with  pink  &  purple  acrylics.  barbie  was,  in  fact,  proud  of  the  way  she  customized  her  cassette.    "  i've  recently  heard  about  madonna  and  wanted  to  give  it  a  try.  do  you  have  any  suggestions?  "

eddie catches that comment, a look of confusion paints across his features, followed by an amused smile as she messes with the buttons. " no — see, you have to take out the batteries first. " the device is practically disassembled by the time he finishes his sentence. practice makes perfect. he's broken far too many, && all have been repaired at some point. && broken again.

" then you gotta put 'em back in && hold this power button. && voila. " the walkman is slid right back to her, just like new. " definitely not broken beyond repair, trust me. "

nerves have a tendency to sneak up on one, creeping around && striking just to make things awkward, && the relief comes in the form of twirling the many rings adorning his fingers. " — so, um, what were you listening to?? or were going to listen to?? "

"  that  sounds  terrible.  "    there  was  no  hesitation,  opinion  poured  straight  from  the  blood  pumping  heart  of  hers.  barbie  couldn't  even  imagine  how  that  felt  like,  but  she  could  empathize  —  as  much  as  her  psyche  allowed,  that  is.    "  please,  take  them  all.  and  if  there's  anything  you  want,  i'll  try  my  best  to  provide.  "    the  deed,  albeit  pure  and  benevolent  in  its  nature,  was  also  the  catalyst  for  the  unknown  she's  growing  curious  about.

"  ho  -  how  is  it?  "    she  fell  in  the  very  trap  she's  set  herself.    "  i  mean,  it  sounds  like  –  it's  eating  you  from  the  inside  out.  are  there  any  benefits  from  being  a  …  vampire?  "    manicured  brow  quirks  upward,  half  a  smile  finding  its  way  upon  her  countenance.
