Someone made a point about Heartstopper which was so true and just made me realise one of the reasons why Heartstopper was so good. Basically they said that the show has tension but doesn’t create discomfort for the viewer that a lot of romance does. I never really noticed until I was thinking about how most romance wether in drama or comedy makes me have to walk out a room or hide behind a cushion, I can still enjoy a romcom if I watch with my mum but I can never properly sit through it. But Heartstopper was enjoyable and happy and I felt a sense of anticipation rather than dread. It was more romantic because every couple felt full of love and care rather uncomfortable drama. They communicated and built a relationship in a way that I haven’t seen before. You could truly see how much every couple cares for each other

Taking advantage of the free Nimona video and....wow, the Director really believes her own bullshit here. Like it's not just a show for Ballister's sake (or at least, not completely), she genuinely believes that he's ultimately responsible for her actions by being common and disruptive and that he forced her to murder her queen to stop him from becoming a knight. "Today, everyone will see you for who you really are." "She thought someone like you could be a hero, and it cost her her life." She literally runs Gloreth's direct descendant through with a sword and then in the moment after he "dies", her reaction is "May Gloreth forgive you." Not me, never me, no matter how many people I have to kill. May Gloreth forgive you for existing in a way that inconvenienced me even slightly.
Like the religious aspect is not subtle, as far as the Director is concerned her every word and thought and action is the will of Gloreth herself and challenging her is a sacrilegious act. Ballister can change, Ambrosius and the knights can change, the whole kingdom can sit there watching Nimona break down and decide they were wrong about her and accept her, and the Director is still standing on the battlements demanding that they blow up the city because it's what she wants and the mere idea that she could ever be wrong is blasphemy.
Which is a genuinely good message for the film's younger audience as a whole. "Yes, people can change and become better. Yes, whole societies can change and become better. Yes, people deserve second chances. But there are some people who cannot and will not change, and you shouldn't lose sleep over your inability to convert them."
Ever since I first saw the episode I've noticed this:
Roku doesn't even TRY to use reason, argument and emotion to get Sozin to abandon his idea of world conquest, he just bluntly says no and refuses all talk on the subject. Then later almost kills Sozin and cuts all contact with him then wonders and regrets that he hasn't changed.
Similarly Zuko throws Azula into a horrific asylum to rot and suffer alone for almost two years with no one except her hallucinations to try to convince her to change paths. Then once she's out he throws half hearted second chances at her and is surprised, sad and furious that her mind is too broken and her distrust too great to take them.
I do not have much hope for a good ending for Azula but I hope the realization of why he failed will hit Zuko eventually.

“Doc” Janus has shown us that other sides will appear as characters in RSWR

Right now I am willing to bet everything I own on Logan appearing as one of the teachers at the bard college
you know, now that the personification of the chats as entities are a lot more talked about, i cant help but go back to previous moments and think of these like. hordes of animals being present when it happened.
like imagining the code fight trying to defend tallulah, but the skies are shadowed with crows, all of them staying in the distance but sometimes diving down in useless attempts at assisting phil defend tallulah
a bunch of rats in the vents of the prison, sneaking scraps and anything that maybe could be useful to pac and mike
a bunch of moles and builder rodents hanging on a boat, some of them trying to shake foolish awake and others franticly trying to reach leo as she's flung up in the air by a whale. or the same tiny things just, jumping around the stairs of vegetta's home when the code attack happened
a hoard of angry whispering ghosts and hissing cats (idk what baghera's chat is) surrounding elquackity as bad checks on dapper on the cage after being kidnapped
and then the obvious: the phil and etoiles code fight, with the glass dome completely obscured by a murder of corvids, with only the lights of buzzing fireflies between them. Cats, rats, ghosts, all of them hanging on the edges of the arena, all eyes trained on the fight
i just think it brings SUCH a visual flare to epic scenes....
