Yes!  There is nothing wrong with phases, or taking time to find the terms that fit you, or changing your orientation.  My understanding of myself has changed over time.

instead of assuring everyone that it “isn’t a phase”, why don’t we just assure everyone that if it is a phase it’s fine? it’s healthy to figure yourself out? because if we tell everyone it’s not a phase and it ends up being a phase, those people are going to feel guilty, like they stole resources or wasted time. It’s not bad to ‘go through a phase’. It’s a healthy way of finding out who you are. And if it isn’t a phase, that’s fine too. But if it is, there’s no reason to feel bad.

I’m a little over half-way through and really enjoying this book.  The short stories are based on fairy tales, and they feature a variety of asexual, aromantic, and other LGBTQIA+ characters.  It’s worth way more than 99 cents!

I’ve been seeing a sudden surge of use of the word ‘thot’ and I’m concerned

We’ve recently seen at least one ancient Egyptian deity resurrected through meme magic

Thoth is a significantly more powerful member of the pantheon than Kek and the consequences of summoning him may be even more drastic than the rebirth of Kek (Brexit, Trump winning the election, a series of celebrity deaths)

The phrase ‘return the bones thot’ radiates an obvious mystical power and it may herald that Thoth will come to preside over 2017 as Kek has presided over 2016 - the bones possibly refer to the millions of mummified ibises buried in his honor at his main temple in Khmun, by reblogging that post you may be unknowingly beseeching this ancient and powerful being to repay the thousands of years of sacrifices humanity once offered him - what form that might take, we can only speculate

Although it’s possible that Thoth has been with us for a while - his name in Greek letters is Θώθ, which is clearly referenced in the ‘OwO what’s this?’ meme

As the inventor of both magic and science and keeper of all wisdom, Thoth assuredly does know what ‘this’ is, but I’m not sure we want to find out

I’m also concerned that Thoth’s wife Ma’at may be connected to the frequent seemingly compulsive and superfluous use of the word ‘mate’ or ‘m8′ in memes

Please be careful with your memes, they may hold hidden arcane power

I would probably give a book with an ace main character a try, just because it’s hard to find books with ace characters.  I would keep reading a series or read more by the same author if the book was in a genre/style that I otherwise enjoy and was well written.

For all of the brave, strong people I know who are fighting depression and other mental monsters.

As I librarian, I love the idea of the queer community being more like a library than an exclusive club.  Huge thanks to FYA for choosing libraries as examples of open, welcoming, inclusive places!

Any aspec feeling down because of the posts telling not to go to pride, I've seen plenty of posts banning enbies, trans people, pans, bis and in one particularly baffling case, lesbians from attending. With literally the only group escaping these posts being cis gay men, I think it's safe to say they're rubbish. Gatekeepers can have their own super exclusive pride in some dark cave with rest of the council of evildoers.

I told my friend today that I think people see the queer community as this exclusive club and you must dress and appear “gay enough” to be allowed in, when I think the queer community should be more akin to a library that can host events. Because the exclusion of any dampers the pride I feel down until I don’t want pride symbols and colors everywhere because I don’t want to think about the heartbreak we do to each other 24/7.

I’m so glad that the QUILTBAG+ folks I know are welcoming and friendly to all, including asexuals and aromantics!

this pride month if i see ANY of you fuckers including ace/aro identities anywhere, if you even fucking say the words asexual or aromantic in any context of pride in any day this June, you have 0% of my patience and respect. this month isn’t for ace/aro identities and never will be. shut the fuck up.

I tend to be very quiet about my personal life (because it’s, well, personal).  However, it’s hard to resist Pride Month.  I identify as queer for short-form labeling and as grey asexual, autochorissexual, panromantic, and polyamorous for longer labeling.  Mostly, though, I identify as “labels are for people you don’t know well.”  I am myself -- that is what matters.

Over the next 30 days, we are actively encouraging you to share your LGBTQ+ pride with all of Tumblr. You deserve to be proud of who you are 365 days a year, but these next 30 days, we’re going all out. There’s no wrong way to do it. Upload an illustration. Write a poem. Make a GIF. Our party—a bard, a fighter, and a ranger—were on a one-off side quest to deliver a letter to somebody. He wasn’t at his house (learned after breaking in, to the DM’s dismay), so we found out the general area he was in and went there, confusion in our wake and a spring in our steps. I, the bard, had decided that I would funnel every ounce of skill I possessed into charisma, and at level 5 had a +6 modifier. I had been using that power at every opportunity that arose. We wander through the foothills full of caves, looking for this guy, when our fighter rolls a nat 20 perception trying to look for any signs of life.

DM: You—okay, so. Yeah. With that, you actually notice about fifty feet away that a particular cluster of bushes is rustling just slightly, but not with the breeze.

Fighter: Oh. Cool. “Hey guys, I think there are some folks in those bushes over there.”

Me: “Cool beans! HELLOOOOOOO, MY DUDES!”

DM: There’s a few seconds of silence before four guys come slowly forward from the bushes. They look pretty rough and tough, and uh—

Ranger: Can I roll perception? Uh… that’s a 15.

DM: You deduce that they’re probably bandits or something. They’re walking forward and one of the guys says, “Who are you little pests, and what’re ya doing in these here foothills of ours?”

Me: “We’re just hanging out, traveling, and actually it seems like a good time to break for breakfast if you lovely gents would like to join us! I can brew us up some chamomile, I have like a thousand mushrooms I got earlier—”

Fighter: “I got that chicken, too, and jerky.”

Me: “Oh hell yeah, we’re gonna chow down if y'all want in on that action.”

DM: That’s, uh… that’s persuasion, advantage because you’re offering them food and seem too dumb to be dangerous.

Me: Thanks man. Uh… 14 total.

DM: *head in his hands* I just—okay, they join you for breakfast I guess. And yet again you avoid a fight I planned for you. One of the dudes breaks out some eggs from somewhere.

Ranger: What’re their names?

DM: Uh, uh, they—it’s got. There’s Bablo, Sanchez, Kent, and uh. Eskabar.

Me: Cool. I roll to flirt with them.

DM: ………<i>all of them???</i> I mean… sure?? I guess??

Me: Hells yeah. Rolling.

Proceeds to roll: 16, 19, and <i>two natural 20s</i>.

DM: *head on the table* Like. You—you make your fellow party members super uncomfortable. You are piled under boys, it’s kinda gross but super chill for you. Kent wasn’t super into the whole group thing before, but now he would straight up die for you. He’s learning a lot about himself today.

Me: I’m gonna write those names down for later. Can I put “a boys harem” in my items list?

I got tired of missing people on LJ, so I've created a Tumblr account (obviously) and a DreamWidth account. That seems to catch most of the people I was following on LJ who were still posting semi-regularly. I'm considering Twitter, but I don't know if I want to dedicate that much of my life to social media. (I have no problems with the "media" part; it's the "social" that I'm not very good at handling.) Feel free to point me at your favorite people and stuff on either DreamWidth or Tumblr! I'm still getting the hang of who/what is available where.
