They find you a new job, pay your rent, take care of your student loans, and keep you in perfect health. Despite the growing intimacy between you, they don’t seem to want anything from you but your blood. This arrangement works out pretty well for a while, until you start to develop feelings for your vampire benefactor.

random headcanon: modern au sokka hates riding on rollercoasters. he appreciates them from an engineering standpoint but he does NOT want to be dropped from hundreds of feet in the air thank you very much. this doesn't stop zuko from forcing him to ride front seat with him anyway
When I write three sentences on my WIP:
shout out to all the people who identify with gifted kid burnout syndrome who are probably just neurodivergent but werent diagnosed as a child, who used to devour books like it was nothing and never really understood why the protagonist would leave their cool fantasy world behind to go back home at the end of the story, and who are now extremely disappointed in reality and use escapism as their primary coping mechanism. how’s that bisexuality and deep-rooted anger at the school system going for you?
truly the end goal is not "my close friends aren't annoyed by me and it's all in my head, they're my friends and they love me", it's "sometimes I do annoy my close friends, just as the people I love most will also annoy me sometimes, because this is normal, and we will continue to stay friends, and they're not going to want to immediately cut me out of their life if I do something annoying once in a while"
