this feels like a new page

something in permanence

concrete in its optimism

I am made anew, made by self

and in hopeful image

I care for this new host

as I would a friend, an injured bird

and praise its immortality

its liquid movement

its exhilarating strength

its necessary softness

this feels new to me

something brilliant and other

this pulsing, pulsating way

that you can care for yourself

and champion its tiny victories

praise its waking ability

to carry on upright

loved, and loving
