So, if the time loop is a metaphorical labyrinth, and Nadia and Alan are both Ariadne that leads the other out to their safety, Perseus for slaying the monster they had to face at some point, and The Minotaur for in the end being that same monster that is ultimately responsible for their own demise and imprisonment due to their own selfish actions In their lives…
What does that make of the Cat? Is he God? Is he the little girl? Are Oatmeal, The Little Girl, and Horse the 3 Fates? The cat’s actions are what ultimately cause the loop to begin with, he tricks Nadia into getting hit by the car the second Alan hits the ground from his fall, thus trapping them in the labyrinth, while also giving them a way out in the form of themselves.
What about the carnival parade, shouldn’t Alan have been there due to Horse? In the original Timeline Nadia doesn’t get him back home after finding him with Horse, whose “we got another one” line clearly refers to him finding another guy for the parade, but if that’s so, how can he jump to his death AND be at the parade at the same time?
Is the parade a metaphor for them transcending purgatory then? Is Horse the Devil? Is he Dionysus, who saves Ariadne the savior after she is been (metaphorically, in this case, and due to a higher will like some instances of the myth state) and abandoned by the hero she saved?
Is the little girl Athena? Or are they all just angels? The prayer from episode 2 states that angels are all around us, and the Rabbi does mentions how people are haunted and need to surrender to the Abyss, is this why they ultimately got free, because they surrendered to the circumstances of their life and shit?
How about the stairs, in the first episode she’s about to fall down the stairs and die but she gets caught by Mike, then she’s about to get hit by the car again but John catches her before she dies, is this a metaphor for how alone we are all destined to succumb and die, but with the help of others we can ultimately survive our life, hence why she gets down those stairs with max in the finale?
Or is this all just rambling? I’m confused.
am i doing it right?
