Metropolis, on average, is likely to have much higher than average rent than Gotham. Reporters, non tv ones esp., don’t get paid that much these days with the gradual decline of print media. Probably lower than average for someone aiming to keep a low profile.

My point is, that rent in metropolis sucks ass and Clark just starting at the daily planet and running off to be superman all the time, is just. having an awful fucking time, because to be superman he can’t have roommates. He probably ends up doing some part time jobs with odd hours to keep his secret.

And most people also don’t know that superman HAS a secret identity in the early days and think he just. full time lives at the north pole.

So when the jla starts, no one KNOWS he has secret identity and Clark isn’t particularly keen on exposing it so he just. keeps coming up with bullshit ass excuses why he is randomly offline sometimes.

My favorite wenclair take is that once Wednesday starts dating Enid the simp gene she inherited from Gomez just like ACTIVATES.

Like people notice that she starts smiling more and while it is extremely unsettling and makes their skin crawl every time they see it, they realize that it only ever happens when Enid is within a five foot radius of Wednesday. Enid so much as makes eye contact with her and the room just drops 10 degrees and Wednesday just has this crazed look on her face, everyone thinks somethings wrong with her, and Enids just like "Aw, babe, you have a beautiful smile!"

People also notice that Wednesday will do absolutely whatever Enid tells her to. Put on these cat ears for a costume? Yes, of course. Let Thing out of the drawer even though I'm mad at him? I can't say no to you. Wear the snoods? Whatever you want.

She would kill for her and die for her and literally everyone knows it at this point.

Enid: Wow. God forbid women do anything these days.

Sheriff Galpin: Kid your friend-

Sheriff Galpin: I’m not- whatever, your girlfriend just landed four grown men in the hospital.

Enid: And… She looked good doing it.

Sheriff Galpin: You know what? I can’t with… whatever this is. She’s free to go and officially your problem.

Enid: Yay!

Wednesday: *pausing mid-escape and casually handing the sheriff broken handcuffs* Miserable-night Sheriff.

Sheriff Galpin: *whispering* I hate you.

Wednesday: *also whispering* I’m glad.

Enid: Hurry up babycakes, I need my cuddle buddy.

Wednesday: *smirking* Coming Amore.

The thing that a lot of people don't get is that when people who know they have memory problems anticipate that they'll have memory problems in the future as well, they are being responsible. If someone asks "what if I miss a dose?" about a medication they've been offered, it doesn't mean "what if I only take my meds when I feel like it?" and the answer shouldn't be "no, you must take it at the right time every time uwu", offered with a condescending tone of scolding and no explanation of what happens.

A responsible adult capable of making desicions based on their own knowledge and experience, and a full awareness that things are also influenced by things they don't know about, will take this non-answer and think "alright, if missing just one dose will undo all my progress, I will not waste my money. And if missing just one dose will kill me, I will not risk my life", and they won't take the meds.

If your answer to "what do I do if X happens?" is "no, you shouldn't let that happen", you're not being the responsible adult in this situation.
