I'm sick to death of this shit. How many times do I have to go and BEG people with "dance aus" and "sports aus" and now "ice skating aus" to FIT THE NEEDS OF VIKTOR.
How many times am I going to have to ask people to portray Viktor as he is? How many times am I going to have to ask people to please stop making him look "aesthetic" just to fit an aesthetic AU?
Like the removal of his mobility aids to completely lessen his disability is one fucking thing. And it's another to decide that they're not "cool enough" or "pretty enough" to fit the vibes of some AU. That's just furthering the idea that disabled bodies are just not meant to be seen as they are. That they're something that has to be fixed to be seen in an art or a sport.
Saying "it's an AU" does not fix that this mindset is furthering the damage to a large demographic of people. Because this is not just any one singular AU--this is a whole fandom of AUs like these. The Viktor tag is filled with people changing him--not to fit headcanons of disabilities similar in needs and support, but to fit him into some form of "fixed enough" (or just plain "fixed") so that he makes an AU "interesting."
I'm begging people to start considering Viktor first before any AU. Viktor is the priority, not your AU. If your AU cannot handle Viktor as he is, then your AU should not exist as it is.
Please.
TW: Suicide. These two scenes kill me. Jayce’s angle being an aerial shot, showing him from above because he has higher places to be. The ground is so far, he’s not meant to be down there
Viktor angle being from below, where he has felt his whole life. The top is so far out of reach, he has nowhere to go but down.
Jayce being in the dark, where he knows there will be a while before anyone can stop him. Viktor in the light, he truly does not want to die, but he doesn’t believe anyone will come and stop him, he doesn’t care that it’s in the day.
Yet still, Jayce has his eyes closed, not ready to look down, but ready to accept death because he doesn’t feel like he has anywhere higher to go, he’s ready to fall.
Viktor looks down, accepts where he is going to end up, but is devastated there are no more options, he simply does not have time.
For someone as close to death as Viktor is, Jayce is quicker to accept it when it’s there in front of him.
