You think your stuff is safe until it's suddenly not, and then often times it's too late.

This post starts with AO3, (because it seems to be the common denominator across all users on this website /joking) but I recommend extending preservation efforts to anything online if you can manage to download it.

I'm not saying panic and start buying tons of storage devices to hold immense amounts of stuff. A cheap usb can hold plenty of things. You don't have to stop using services still available if it's more convenient to read books on your phone than to fill your backpack with 7 of them.

But you should still get (either buying or creating) physical versions because nothing is guarantee that it will remain forever. From shows being pulled from streaming services, to banned books, to losing access to digital copies of media because the service doesn't support it anymore, the account is lost, or the company goes under. This goes for messaging platforms as well. Your role-plays with your friends on discord can be lost forever, your photos can too.

This doesn't even include media most vulnerable to censorship and how quickly it can be removed, and quietly.

You think it will not happen to you, it will. Do not wait for unforeseen circumstances. Go back up and preserve what you can, your future self will be happy that you did.

COTL - How to Speak to Your Vessel

Figured I'd take a whack at Narinder and the boys. (Drawing them. Take a whack at drawing them. Only Lamb can beat up their husband god. I'd fall over like a dead leaf in the wind.)

Lamb (loredumping)

Here we go again!

• Avana (She/her) was part of a hidden village near the mountains, part of a diaspora of the original Red Crown cult. She had a twin sister named Suemy (the one i shipped with the goat) and an older brother named Caleb. Her parents are also there but I haven't gone into detail about them.

• The prophecy of the lamb that would free TOWW was publicly known for a long time, but because they lived in a very well hidden village, they did not worry much about it.

• Avana used to prepare to compete in the future for the position of leader of the village in which she lived, it is here where she obtains knowledge about people management, conflict resolution, resource management, etc.

• The lamb hunt comes to her village two days after her sister's wedding, leaving her as the last survivor for a couple of days before being captured.

• Ever wonder why the scar on her neck is only on one side? Well, it turns out that when she was about to be executed she turned her head to see the axe coming down, cutting from the right side.

• The village of Avana still practiced certain minor rites and told stories of the god of death even after he had been missing for a thousand years. So when the lamb dies and meets TOWW, she recognizes him immediately.

• After being entrusted with the mission of killing the bishops and rebuilding the cult of the red crown, she dedicates herself exclusively for a few days to preparing the ground for the cult, occupying her mind with simple tasks so as not to be carried away by the desperation of her situation. Eventually, when the ground is slightly cleared, she stops and enters into the crusades.

• Avana did not want to force anyone to remain in the cult out of obligation, so it was functioning more as a kind of camp/shelter for a while until Huna (an alpaca, She/her) decided to stay permanently.

• In terms of managing the cult, Avana isn't too bad due to her previous experience, but she never prepared herself for how others would perceive her as an authority, especially now that she was not only the leader of a village, but of a cult.

• On the other hand, the mission to kill the bishops takes several centuries, since she was never prepared to learn how to fight, and facing monsters and enemies that use magic and curses, and incidentally making use of weapons that are also magical, should not be something easy to master.

• At the beginning, the hunt for the bishops begins at full speed with all the contained anger that the lamb felt, but as the years go by, that anger begins to extinguish, and the more he discovers how screwed up the "family" relationship between them is, her perception changes. She still doesn't forgive them, but her revenge is definitely not the same flame as it was at the beginning.

• During these years, the relationship between Narinder and the lamb also becomes closer, becoming partners, companions, friends and whatever comes before confessing that you like someone.

• It is because of this that when Avana meets TOWW again and he asks her to sacrifice herself, she feels betrayed, but she cannot allow herself to hate him instantly. The battle is tough, not so much because of the fight itself, but because of the whirlwind of emotions colliding between them until finally the lamb emerges as the victor.

• In a moment of rage she plans to kill him, but at the last second she regrets it, spare him and sending him to limbo for an indeterminate amount of time (limbo is the empty plane between realities that we use to transport ourselves with the crown!)

[Here we deviate slightly from canon for the convenience of the script yesyesyes]

• Narinder remains in limbo for a long time (a year or so), and it is during that same time that the lamb brings the bishops from purgatory and introduces them to the cult, although they are not officially indoctrinated.

• One night without warning the summoning circle lights up and Narinder is forcibly brought to the mortal world causing the lamb to panic as she doesn't know what to do.

• Avana takes charge of taking care of Narinder and trying to heal the wounds that his chaining left him, eventually succeeding. But while this happens, she begins to have doubts and to get the idea that Narinder must hate her because she stole his crown and his powers, all this while he was unconscious.

• After Narinder wakes up and tries to get the crown back, these thoughts only increase, leading her to feel guilty 24/7 and do everything she can to make Narinder comfortable so that he hates her a little less.

More Narilamb 1 - 2

[Here you can insert the story of realization, reconciliation, friendship, falling in love and so on Narilamb that I am too lazy to write right now. Yadayada they fall in love again and eventually get married, let's proceed.]

• The lamb's stagnant feelings were strongly linked to her acceptance of her divinity, so when her relationship with Narinder is finally renewed her body accepts the changes that divinity offers her without pain and begins to grow from an infant god to an adult one.

• This maturation process lasts for centuries, during which the cult grows, new doctrines are written, goat comes to the world of lamb, sin is introduced to the cult and of course, shittens.

[The beginning of the end... This last part is taken from a message shared on discord that I will paste here directly]

"To give some context: during Narinder's time of imprisonment the bridge between the gateway and the other side was horribly damaged thanks to the chains and the lack of care he had, causing difficulties for souls to pass to the other side.

The original plan was that Avana would repair the bridge little by little while ascending to adulthood as a god of death, but thanks to a deal with the crown things changed a bit.

In exchange for being able to use the mating tent and have a child (just a chance) she would have to spend x amount of years in the gateway repairing the damage to the entire domain before being able to return home. Fortunately she succeeds on the first try and from this little egg Avader (the real shitten) is born. The crown, having a certain fixation and preference for the lamb, allows her to remain in the cult until she fully ascends as a god of death before dragging her to the gateway to collect its part of the deal.

I haven't decided how long yet, but it will be quite a few years before she is able to finish restoring the gateway as a nice "passageway" to cross to the other side. Upon her return she hands over the crown, abandoning her position as god of death but having the task of returning every so often to do maintenance. Like Narinder she is cursed with immortality to fulfill this deal.

There is something I like about this parallel of Narinder being imprisoned outside of his control with no idea when he would get out or how to escape VS Avana voluntarily locking herself away with the assurance of returning and the time it takes to wait would be entirely up to her."

Cult of the Lamb - The Reflection

Gawd I love these goobers.

While I do love Doggy-Rinder or whatever flipside version of Narinder I see in everyone's AUs, my preference is Shamura as Goat's patron because the irony of if it's not Narinder getting sealed away, it has to be ONE of the Bishops. Why Shamura in this instance? Heeheehee... *cough I haven't thought that far ahead yet cough*

I'm trying to just let ideas flow. With Lost Souls, I had to meticulously plan ahead plot points and while that makes for a good long-form comic I do NOT want to let myself get sucked back into comic making yet...! So I just want to do vignettes like this. Will they remain canon to my particular AU as it advances? Hopefully, but if it doesn't then oh well.

Shamura:

I've shared that one in the server but never actually put it into words here, only in art; Shamura is a cane user fr fr. They used to have multiple canes for different occasions (most of them can serve as weapons) but after Narinder's imprisonment, they've only been using the one that they had at the moment of the attack. I wonder why :}

Remember when i talked about Leshy crying out during Narinder's attack and being silenced by Heket out of reflex due to being taught a god's reputation comes above all ? Right so that teaching is from Shamura, okay ? What if they forgot they were the one to instaure this way of thinking into their siblings ? They never realize their morals and priorities negatively impacted their family to the point where they don't feel like a family anymore. What happened ? Why is their family now distant from one another ? Them being attacked should bring them together, make them look out for one another, strengthen their bonds. Why do they barely speak ? It's been that way since the fight, since Narinder was banished. It's been that way since Narinder layed a hand on them, harmed them. Everyone else was so angry at him. What did he do to anger their siblings ? It must be because of him. It has to be. He was prophecized to become a threat to them, after all. It's his fault that they all became so... foreign.

Narinder:

Upon waking up from his defeat-induced coma, Narinder had to go through an entire rehabilitation training to move his body again. So he had to rely on mobility aid over a period of time going through wheelchair, crutches, and cane until he could move around mostly on his own. He still needs a cane from time to time and he hates it

(You already know that one Anii) Narinder does not hide his scars. He feels no shame over them, it's proof of what he went through, that his pain was real. He does, however, think it shameful and cowardly to hide them.

Narinder's fur can never ever be smooth. He remains stinky dirty poopy from his thousand years imprisonment FOREVER you put your hand on him and it STINGS

Lamb:

Lamb, who hides their neck scar (decapitation) and wrist scars (shackles they wore before their death), is looked down upon by Narinder for it. They just don't like seeing the scars why is he so mean :(

In my interpretation of the game, the Lamb grew up sheltered and protected - fearing the outside world because of the Bishops looking to kill all sheep - and was only ever known as "the lamb". So they never had time to grow into a person of their own. No time to discover what they like and dislike, what they dream of and what else they fear. This did not change after their resurrection. They had no sense of self from the start, had no sense of self throughout their servitude to TOWW, and who knows if they will find a sense of self after defeating him.

Goat:

The Goat used to have a name, unlike the Lamb, but they've forgone it ages ago when the Bishops were still out hunting for goats and they still hadn't found Shamura. After all, there's no point in having a name if all you do is run and fight and hide from everyone.

You might think the Goat is fighting the Bishops to avenge their kind, but they're not. They don't fight for them, they fight for themselves. Selfishly. They want the Bishops dead, not because these gods lead to the death of so many of their kind, but because the Goat had to constantly run and fight for the possibility to live. The extinction of their specie does fuel their anger and will to fight, but appeasing their own anger comes first and foremost.

This is more of a general headcanon but healing magic hurts. It mends your body back together and not without lingering pain. Got broken ribs poking into your lungs ? Yea, well now the ribs are moving around healing themselves. Inside your body. And you will feel every second of it. Lamb grows accustomed to it and usually doesn't mind using magic to heal. Goat, however, hates it 1) because of the pain 2) because it's magic they got from one of the gods that caused their terrible life, so they refuse to use it.

AU story:

In this AU it kinda takes some ideas from the Archie comics. The Robotnik family worked with the Acorn kingdom, but upon discovering a hidden echidna temple under the castle, Eggman becomes obsessed with it, enraged that the kingdom has hidden what could be, ultimate power. Against his grandfather's wishes, he and maria run experiments, only for them to fail, leading to Maria and Eggman's parents vanishing, along with several mobians. Eggman escapes, but Maria is struck with a strange chaos ilness that seems to be nullified through contact with Chaos energy... but the Chaos emeralds are off limits. Eggman is exiled, but he vows to return for the emeralds and take the castle with his genious creations. Despite Gerald and Maria being under strickt watch, Gerald Robotnik tries to create a living emerald in secret, underground, drawing up the god of chaos and creating Shadow... But he's found out as Eggman attacks for the first time. He escapes with Shadow and Maria in the chaos, passing off Shadow as an orphan from the city. Suspicions arise as Shadow begins showing strange powers... it isn't long before the war catches up to them, and Sonic meets the mysterious hedgehog again, years later.
