Bubblegum Incident

This is my first time writing for The Outsiders, so let me know if you would want anymore! I also would like to do this same idea for another fandom (maybe Harry Potter?).

Summary: A soc puts gum in Dottie's hair, which results in a haircut.

Dottie sat in her room feeling ashamed. She didn’t want to face the boys and have them see the result of how she couldn’t defend herself. Dottie was a beautiful girl. Her looks were just the beginning of the person she was. Her gentle nature made people question whether she was an actual greaser. Though she never participated in rumbles or scrapes that would happen, Dottie undoubtfully stood with the boys. She had gotten close with Ponyboy in school, having helped him catch up on schoolwork he missed and anything that he had trouble with. His brothers, especially Dally, viewed her as an angel for keeping their brother on track in school.

                This earned her the privilege of meeting the main group. and them adopting her as a sister. Even Ponyboy couldn’t help but to see her as a little sister, even though she was a couple months younger. As Dottie laid on her bed, she refused to go over and face them. Running her hand through her once long hair. As it once fell near her hips, the locks were below her jawline now. She squeezed her eyes shut not wanting the tears to fall as she remembered the terrible encounter. A group of socs had cornered her as she walked home two days ago, poking and joking to her how she was dirty and greasy. One had leaned over and remarked that her hair was probably drenched in grease that should be taken care of. He had pulled his gum from his mouth, stretching it out and wadding it into her hair. She had tried to fight him off, but she was useless against the grip of two others.  

                Her mother had gasped as she came home, hair wrecked and tears falling. The only solution was to cut it out, resulting in the short cut she sported now. The look wasn’t awful, it made her look more mature and rugged, but Dottie’s hair had always been long. She was scared the boys would make fun of her, saying something that boys don’t realize would hurt her feelings.

                The time she had been away had worried the boys. Ponyboy had tried to call her house multiple times only getting her mom telling him that Dottie wasn’t feeling well. The boys had thought about making a trip over, but Darry said it wouldn’t be a smart idea barging over. They decided to just wait until you were feeling better to see them again.

                After a couple days, and Dottie’s mother, she finally made the journey over. She took several deep breaths before knocking. Dottie knew she was allowed to just enter, but felt like she should knock after not being around her a bit. Standing there for a few seconds before the door swung open revealing Darry. His face lifting into a smile seeing the familiar girl before his eyes drifted towards her short hair. He didn’t bring it up as he brought her into a comforting hub.

                “Dottie, we’ve been missing you around here.” Darry’s soft voice alerted the others from the living room. They all got up from their lounging positions and went towards the door. Releasing Dottie, Darry led her in the house. She met with many arms wrapped around her. Her nerves slipped away momentarily. All the nerves leaving as she was surrounded by her friends. Ponyboy pulled away first catching a glimpse of her appearance.

                “I love what you’ve done with your hair!” He said making all the boys pull back to look. They all took turns sending compliments her way.

                “It looks real good, sweetheart.”- Sodapop

                “SO pretty.”- Steve

                “You look like one of ‘em rocker chicks”- Twobit

                “Looks really nice.” – Johny

                All the boys said something nice, before Dally came up and ruffled her hair, “What made you cut it? I thought you liked keepin it long?” Dottie bit her lip not wanting to tell. She didn’t keep anything from them, but she knew that if she said anything that they would be livid. The boys would do something stupid to get payback, and Dottie didn’t want that to happen. Her lack of words made the greasers suspicious.

                “What’s wrong dots?” Soda grabbed her hand trying to get her to look at him. She held eye contact as she opened her mouth. No words finding their way out just yet, only tears welling up in her eyes. Soda gently pulled her over to the couch as the others followed. Giving her a bit of space as the found a spot to sit around the room. After a minute of silence Dottie finally confessed and told them what happened. They all stood up and begin to talk over each other. Shouts of “they won’t get away with this!” and “Those dirty socs!” filling up the house. Dottie held her arms up and shook her head. As Dally quietly slipped from the house, Dottie caught their attention.              

                “No guys, I don’t want you all to cause anymore fuss. Yeah, what they did was wrong, but it’s not worth going out there and getting into more trouble.” The boys exchanged looks before sitting back down. Dottie let out a breath feeling a but calmer now that the boys weren’t about to barge out into the streets looking for a fight with ever soc they saw. The boys tried to sooth over the previous tension by talking to Dottie about how she looks just as great as before.               

                “Yeah, now we can actually see your face!” earning two bit a smack on the back of the head from Johny. They all started laughing falling back into their usual comfort now that Dittie was finally back.         

“Hey where’s Dally?”

yourname_source as many of you know, Valera and i have been running this account for almost four years now and we *never* thought we'd get the chance to meet YN, but tonight iT HAPPENED 😭

i am typing this through tears 😭 okay okay so we are here on spring break & wanted to do all of the touristy things, which means we of course took a tour of Electric Lady Studios (where YN has recorded most of her albums). it was so cool, highly recommend. once the tour was over we exited out of the back doors (which we probably weren't supposed to but the sinage was so confusing 😭). anyway there was this black SUV just parked in the alley and Valera says, "imagine if that was YN." AND THE BITCH WAS RIGHT 😭😭😭

YN rolled down the window and istg for a solid two minutes Valera and i were just babbling because ?????? this shit only happens in movies ??? when we finally got it together we told her how long we've been supporting her and all of the shows we've been to and she promised to keep an eye out for us next time and she kept thanking us and using our names and giving us this soft ass smile that makes me want to DIE JUST THINKING ABOUT 😭 she is so easy to talk to and genuine and 😭😭 we asked her for pictures & then we parted ways but, guys, we absolutely made the right person famous.

AN: Hello! This is my first official writing for Top Gun/Bradley Bradshaw! Any feedback or love would VERY appreciated:) 

       Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw wasn’t sure of a lot of things in his life. He wasn’t sure if he would make it back from the uranium mission. Or if his father’s best friend, Maverick, and him would ever get passed their differences. He wasn’t sure if he was ready to get passed those differences, just yet. He didn’t know or even understand if his friends truly loved him or just stayed around for their job.     Against all of his doubts that creeped, there was one thing Bradley was sure of. Since the day he met you, he was without a doubt surely never going to let you go. Within everything he had, Bradley would give you his all. He was sure that he wanted to see your face every morning, whether it be smeared in your makeup from the previous night or smooched against the pillow with light snores pouring out. The Sun hits just right while you and Kiara were sitting up on the cliff near the already prepared Fireplace, for the moment you are going to see Help. You have no idea how long it has been since you and your friends landed on this deserted Island, probably a few weeks, maybe a month or two, who knows. All that matters right now are you, your friends and your girlfriend and the survival on this Island in the middle of the Ocean. You were looking down to your other friends when you heard your girlfriend speak up.

“God, as much as I love it here, I would give everything right now to have a warm Shower.”, she said, a desperate look on her face while looking up from her making. “I know, you are probably not the only one here. Even though I feel like JJ enjoys it a bit too much living without basic stuff.”, you smirked at her, knowing the reaction of your friend when that topic was first brought up. “I know right? Just like the time when we had like no running water, because of a storm that had occurred prior.”, she remembered, looking at you in disbelief. “I know, it took literally weeks for the water to run again!”, you replied with an annoyed tone in your voice.

You two shared a laugh about the memory in your heads, the water completely stopping on the whole Outer Banks, probably was the worst. Well at least for you guys on the Cut, the Kooks had the water faster running again, than you could blink in a second.

“Hey, do you remember the night that we first met?”, you suddenly asked after a few moments of silence.

“Yeah, wasn’t that like in seventh grade?”, she looked back at you. “Yes! I believe it was a Keg Party at the Beach.”, you recalled. “Shit, yes! Wasn’t that like your first ever Keg Party?”, she laughed. “Oh God yes, yes it was. I’m so glad my Mom didn’t separate my head from my Body when I came home the next day.”, you remembered embarrassed.

“I know! ”, she started laughing. “Hey, that's not funny! I probably like weed, alcohol and what not! Fuck JJ and John B were as High as the Moon that night!”, you said laughing.

*Flashback 2016*

First things first, you were nervous as shit. You told your parents that you were sleeping over at a friend's house, which is true in some way at least, what they don’t know is that your friend had planned that you were going to the Keg happening at the beach. When you arrived you saw all of the People in your age group or higher at the beach, with a bunch of tourist teens having a great time. Your first impression of the drunk teens, the loud music blaring over Bluetooth speakers with the newest hits, all dancing and laughing was weird of some sort? Well, the smell of sweat, salt air, beer and a smell you couldn’t yet sort in made your stomach turn a bit– and your nerves didn’t help a single bit. You followed your friend through the crowd of teens until you stopped, before you were four teens, briefly introduced as JJ, John B, Kie and Pope who seemed just as nervous to be here as you. The first thing in a truly classic JJ way was him holding the Joint out to you and asking if you wanted a hit, which your friend declined in your name. A few moments later, you were sitting with the Pogues and chatted away, barely sipping on your beer. You and Pope bonding over the fact that your parents probably will kill you when you get home tomorrow, you saw your friend chatting with the other three and you don’t know when but at some point Kie came over to you annoyed over the fact how high JJ and John B are, best presented with JJ falling over laughing at something John B said.

That was the first time you and Kie met, starting to have conversations about the most random stuff, not knowing what the future will bring for you.

You were both laughing your asses off discussing that evening. “You know, that night I never would have thought what would happen in the future.”, she said smiling. “What exactly? Us coming together or being stranded in the Caribbean?”, you asked her. “Both somehow? I don’t know, but looking back it was probably clear as day for everyone else.”, she explained with a look on her face, which explained to you that she was deep in her thoughts. “Well, looking back at us coming together was pretty much an accident. But probably my favorite one yet.”, you smiled at her while taking her hand in yours.

Which was true, you and Kie getting together was an accident, a happy one to be fair. It was during the whole Gold from the Royal Merchant thing that happened, JJ said as usual something stupid and you were 10 minutes away from punching him in the nose; luckily for JJ, Kie was there to stop your actions. Later at the same evening, while chilling in the Cats Ass, aka the Hottub, you were talking to Kie when your Attention was taken from her for a few seconds and she accidentally let it slip that she is in love with you. That statement not only took you but also her and your friends who were also sitting in the same Hottub off guard, she tried to leave fastly and pretended like nothing happened, yet you reacted faster and got her to calm down and take a walk with you. Long Story Short, you had your first Kiss that evening.

“I still find it embarrassing how it just slipped out of me.”, she said, hiding her face in her hands. “I think it was quite cute.”, you slightly mocked her with a smirk. “Oh yeah, don’t think I let you forget the Kiss we shared, where you accidentally kissed my chin instead of my Lips.”, she said looking at you defensively. “To my defense, I had alcohol in my blood system and was tipsy.”, you grinned at her. “Yeah sure, keep telling you that, miss perfect.”, she laughed.

You weren’t Tipsy at all. You pretty sure sobered up when she let her love confession slip and were nervous as shit when she leaned into you for that kiss. Anyways, that was probably the best first Kiss you ever had, nothing in comparison with the other people you kissed.

“Hey, do you remember when we watched that one TrashTV show? The one where the girl wanted the most expensive ring possible for her wedding?”, you asked. “Oh yeah, I remember that. I still hate how materialistic she was, just because her fianceé had money.”, Kie replied. “Well, even though I like shiny things I would also marry you with paper- or gras rings.”, you said. Kie couldn’t do anything other than to smile at you and lean in for a Kiss you gladly accepted and reciprocated.

After you two separated you remember the day you told your parents that you were together, which you couldn’t keep from bringing up. “Hey, remember the day we told our parents when we were together.”, you looked at her curiously. “Yeah, like it was yesterday.”, she said. “Well I don't like that she’s a Pogue.”, you started mimicking her father. “But at least she can’t get you pregnant.”, you two finished and laughed at that. -

*flashback*

Well the day you decided to tell your parents was a hell of a ride. Even though you already knew, your parents don’t have a problem with you liking girls, it was a whole other story for Kie and her parents.

The drive to her house wasn’t that long, but that day especially it felt absolutely short. When you went in, you were already greeted with the face of her father who was all but pleased seeing someone from the Cut in his house. Her mother was the opposite, she knew your mom from school back in the day so she welcomed you with a warm smile. At least someone is somehow pleased with seeing you.

You sat her parents down in the living room, nerves finally striking you too now that you see them in front of you.“Mom, Dad, I have something to tell you.”, Kie startet off.“What is it?”, asked her mom calmly, while her father just had an unfazed look on his face.“I-”, she stopped to take a deep breath.“Mom, Dad, I’m Bi and Y/N is my girlfriend.”, she said.To be fair none of you two could really read the face or thoughts from her parents.“Well, that is something new..”, her mom started off.“And..?”, Kie asked.“No.”, her dad interrupted when her mom wanted to speak.“What No?”, Kie asked.“I’m not letting you date a Pogue, no matter the Sex.”, her dad continued.Short Story, that ended up into an argument, where you and Kie just left without a goodbye.

“Wanna talk about what happened when we were at your place?”, you asked when you arrived at you home.“No, I’m Okay.”, she said, letting herself fall onto your bed.“Stop telling me you’re Okay Kie, I know that you are not.”, you let yourself fall next to her.That night she slept over at your place, cuddling up in the bed.

The next day her parents called you both back to their place, where her father declared while he was not happy that you were a Pogue, at least she can’t get pregnant by you.

You came out of your Bubble when you heard Sarah call for you two to come down, because the sun was setting and coloring in the most beautiful pinks and oranges you have ever seen. Luckily you two had finished the rings and gifted them to each other, while making your way back down to the Other.

“Ah there they are, the two love birds.”, JJ called out. “Come shut up.”, you said grinning, while flipping him off. “You know JJ, I start to think sometimes that I actually hate you.”, Kie said while sitting down next to you for the Bonfire. “I am going to pretend that I didn’t hear that.”, he stated while getting the fish ready.

The rest of the evening was spent with stories and reminiscing about the time back on the Cut or Chleo telling you about the adventures she had lived.
