I can’t plan out any story I write bc the whole story has to be revealed to me in a dream with the acts already unfolded in my mind.
Exactly!!!! He’s just like Howard Hughes fr
Capt Nemo: Imma tell you how my ship works and how I stay alive underwater in excruciating detail
Prof. Aronnax: Oh hell yeah gimme all that science
Nemo: And I'll tell you exactly how I managed to build this ship without anyone finding out
Aronnax: I believe every word of this increasingly ridiculous story
Nemo: Now it's time for my diatribe about how I hate land and will remain underwater forever
Aronnax: Go off, queen
Nemo: Aaaand that's all you need to know I guess
Aronnax: Cool cool cool. I definitely don't need to know who your crew is, where they came from, how many there are, or how you managed to convince ~100 people to give up life on land and just live underwater for the rest of their lives
Nemo: Yeah lol why would you care they're not like PEOPLE
Arronax: lololol totes bestie
Nemo: oh btw we don't have a doctor
Oh my god yes literally. Pre transition I had the biggest lighthouse keeper chops and moustache. I miss it sometimes but shaving beats explaining to strangers 🙄
anyway, uh, fish fish fish fish fish
Why do I keep shaving my beard? Is it because I prefer to look more feminine? Is it because I prefer a smooth complexion? No. I shave my beard because I cannot let it get too powerful. I shave it to keep others safe

I think people would armchair diagnose bad people with cluster B disorders much less if psychiatric disorders hadn't all been given names by ableists who of course picked the traits most unberarable to "sane" people to name them rather than, you know, the ways it affects the people that have them. It's like, when doctors are all "this disorder gives you extremely low self esteem. and it's called the Selfish Fucking Asshole Disorder" or "this disorder makes you want to die so bad. and it's called the Hysteric Bitch Disorder" or "this disorder disconnects you from your peers. and it's called the Insane Evil Cunt Disorder" and so on and so forth, so of course you have people going "oh, this person is a selfish fucking asshole, they MUST have Selfish Fucking Asshole Disorder! this further proves that all people with this disorder are like that in the first place!" This is very possibly the best explanation for lack of realism in a tabletop RPG I've ever read.

Another great book I'm still working on is Don Quixote. Reading the book makes me want to write music for it so badly but how could anything ever compete with Strauss' best work? zomg !! X__X
Reading 100 years of solitude right now and so much happens constantly. There's years and years of family drama in twenty pages and now I need an eye rest yeesh!
In my stage adaptation, I’m struggling to decide which nationality Nemo should be. I’m making him a violent narcissist and I don’t want to come off like ‘the scary horrible Indian man captures these white people.’ But maybe his rage against imperialism heightens the audiences empathy and helps his actions make sense? Or perhaps I could keep his nationality vague like the book to add to his vampiric air. Much to think about!

‘The Ghetto Tarot’: Haitian artists transform classic tarot deck into stunning real life scenes:
Welcome to the Ghetto Tarot, a project from award-winning documentary photographer Alice Smeets and a group of Haitian artists known as Atis Rezistans. The idea was to take the classic Rider-Waite tarot deck of 78 cards and create a photographic version of each card using settings and objects in the vibrant ghetto of Haiti.
As Smeets says, “The spirit of the Ghetto Tarot project is the inspiration to turn negative into positive while playing. The group of artists ‘Atiz Rezistans’ use trash to create art with their own visions that are a reflection of the beauty they see hidden within the waste. They are claiming the word ‘Ghetto,’ thus freeing themselves of its depreciating undertone and turning it into something beautiful.”

I just know Professor Pierre Aronnax would be an emoji menace. He loves those funky little pictures and he's going to make it everyone's problem.

One thing I’ve really been thinking about is how horrific 20,000 Leagues is from Ned’s perspective. He’s a captive in the alien world he was once king of and his captor is a narcissistic genius with a death wish?!?!
