Who We Are & What We Do

Stonewater Bay Traders is meant to be a multi guild, player/community based continuous RP event that encourages players from all over Wyrmrest Accord to interact with one and other. Our goal is to spark the roleplay bug in as many players as possible in an order to bring the many Pirate, Mercenary, and Seafaring roleplayers together to create amazing stories and random roleplay encounters!

Do you Captain a ship and run with a pirate crew? Are you a Mercenary group that tends to stick to the seas? How about a lone sailor looking for any work he or she can come by? Then look no further than Stonewater Bay.

What is Stonewater Bay?

Off the coast of the Eastern Kingdoms, Stonewater Bay is an island occupied by Alliance forces under King Anduin Wrynn. It can be found in the seas somewhere between the Broken Isles, Kul Tiras, and Zandalar. Smaller in nature, the island is typically off the ‘radar’ when it comes to the Alliance Navy, left in the care of the Viscountess in charge.

The current ruling figure of the island is Viscountess Cordiela Newmont. A former Brothel owner and long time Noble of Stormwind by marriage, Cordielia has a slew of rumors that follow her wherever she goes. Talks of darker magics and deals with pirates are only a few of the stories that circulate Stormwind and it is often said that a less than pleasing aura surrounds the woman.

The island itself boast of a large port and city to match, often inhabited by those of less than pure means. It is said that the island is heavy in a Pirate and Mercenary presence, though there are often many merchant and trading vessels seen docked in her port and anchored in her harbor. To those that frequent the island, the Black Market there is one of the best Azeroth has to offer, aside from those operated by the Goblins, of course.

If you are looking for business deals that a pure hearted man might snub his nose at, no questions trade, or simple raunchy entertainment, Stonewater Bay is the place for you!

Privateers Republic Of Stonewater Bay

A council of seven individuals will be put into place to run the day to day operations of Stonewater Bay. These individuals are known as the Privateers Republic. It is their job to govern the island and see to it that everything runs smoothly. They speak for those that inhabit and frequent the shores of Stonewater Bay, voicing their concerns and needs to the others.

The main purpose of the council is to ensure that everyone involved with the roleplay in Stonewater Bay feels like they have a voice. There are seven individuals that any given character can take suggestions, problems, or simple stories to at any time.

Each of the seven individuals are responsible for an integral part of the islands day to day operations. While it is not mandatory, it is highly suggested that those individuals holding council positions use these to create roleplay for the community as a whole. This can vary from person to person. Perhaps you want to host a tavern night? Perhaps you have a larger scale story in mind? Maybe you just want to hang around the island and roleplay with people as they come and go?

The opportunities are endless!

Stonewater Bay Roleplay

One of the first questions one may have is: “What is there to do on this island?” Well, the answer to that is simple. Roleplay! The main focus of Stonewater Bay is to promote and encourage roleplay in the ‘pirate’ community. But, this is not limited to just those who may roleplay pirates. In fact, roleplay in Stonewater Bay will be open to any and everyone who wants to be a part of the community!

There will be opportunity for all manner of people to be present on the island and everyone is encouraged to show up and interact with each other. As long as it makes sense that your character would be there, you are more than welcome to come on down!

Some of the many options for island roleplay are:

Day to day operations on the island

Meetings dealing with issues that can arise, as well as things pertaining to above

Guild stories that may be opened to others

Walk-Up roleplay for those present

Shops and booths

Tavern Roleplay

The opportunities for roleplay in Stonewater are literally anything you can think of and whatever you make of it!

There are no limits!

Major Events

At least once a month we would like to see something on a larger scale as far as roleplay goes. Things that bring the community together to tackle a larger issue that can arise. Be that a multi-guild event surrounding existing story, or simply some new threat to the island as a whole.

These are events that the council would come together to create, reaching out to anyone who wanted to be involved. A person would not have to be on the council in order to have the option of hosting a large scale event.

Some of the options for this type of event could be as follows:

Large scale events requiring multiple guilds!

Treasure Galleon protected by Man of War?

Any large scale sea battles!

Major threats to Island!

Co-Op with the ‘Good Guy’ guilds!

Generally, those roleplaying pirate type characters are after something with a little more action, adventure, and sailing! So, anything that fits into these categories in any way would be acceptable. But, something as simple as a fight club, large tavern night with entertainment, or job fairs can also fit.

The only rule to major content creation is that these events include any and everyone who wishes to attend. And, as always, have fun!

Minor Events

Everyday roleplay does not always consist of major DM’d events. In fact, most of us look forward to the random encounters that we get from walk up roleplay. Stonewater Bay can, and we hope will, become a place for this as well. With a change of scenery from Stormwind being a much needed addition to the end of an expansion, it is also nice for immersion.

We encourage any and everyone to simply hang around on the island and participate in roleplay where ever it is offered! Be that in the tavern, the brothel, or outside of one of the many shops and booths. We would love to see someone always out and about on the island at any given time of day.

Random roleplay is not all the island is cracked up to be though! Weekly events already exist in mass on this server and we would like to see as many as possible held in Stonewater Bay!

FAQ

How do I join or participate in this project/community?

All anyone needs to do is get in contact with anyone who is currently involved in the project on any level! After that, all anyone needs to do is show up when others are around and start writing! This project is open to all Wyrmrest Accord roleplayers!

Is this for Alliance or Horde?

At the moment, most (if not all) of the individuals involved are Alliance players. But, this does not exclude Horde roleplayers from being involved. While the island is a territory of Stormwind, the Viscountess is known to dabble in less than legal activities that may, or may not, include dealings with the Horde. As long as it makes sense that you, your guild, or your crew are there, all are welcome!

Is there a guild for this?

To put it simply, no. Stonewater Bay is meant to be more of a hub for roleplayers to get together and create stories as well as random walk up roleplay. There will be (we hope!) many guilds involved with this project and no one guild will be at the head or ‘in charge’ of anything.

How will most people communicate out of character?

There is a Discord server setup for all communication currently. Invites to the Discord can be given by anyone who is already in it. Joining the Discord and taking a role denotes that you are willing to participate in the offered roleplay.

What are the rules for the project?

In character, most of the characters involved in this type of roleplay are not exactly the rule following type. Though, the laws of Stormwind do still apply on the island and an individual can, and will be, charged for crimes committed against others. The out of character rules can be found on a thread in the Discord server. Taking a role in Discord means you agree to these rules and will follow them at all times. The server Admins have the right to change these rules at any time. There word is final on consequences for breaking these rules.

Do I have to be a pirate to join?

NO! The island is home to commoners, shop keeps, medical professionals, and almost anything else you can think of! If you are looking to join and are not sure what you want to do, take a look at the map key and read over the different buildings on the island, perhaps you will find something there! If you have something else in mind, shoot an Admin the idea and we can work on getting something moving for you!

How do I become a member of the council?

The Privateers Republic is open to anyone as long as they are nominated for the position they want by another participating member during an ‘election’ meeting.
