I am trying to get them to €43k by the end of January, and with an uncertain administration looming here in the US, I would urge all of my fellow US citizens to donate now as much as ever. This fundraiser is all they have to rely on for food, medicine, and survival gear for the winter until they are able to leave Gaza, and if they can't supplement the losses they've accrued by using these escape funds for urgent needs, they may be trapped once the border opens among bombardment, famine, and disease.

Dear, let me tell you about my little girl. While

browsing today, we saw a big amusement park with small children in it. My little girl, who is 7 years old and has lived under the burden of war for more than a year and a half, saw it and asked me innocently: “Mama, where is this? Are they in heaven?” I imagine a day when this war ends, and I wonder: How will everything affect the children? How long will it take them to start recovering? Indeed, will they even know what life means away from the sound of shells, away from life without electricity, away from destruction everywhere, away from famine, away from lack of food and sweets?

Even as I write, I think about the children. What do they know about heaven? What do they know about life without war?
