Sorry for delayed postings again, been hard to draw lately while I prep for college and recovery from a recent surgery 😅

Sorry I haven’t been active in awhile! I’m preparing to submit my college application and get all that stuff sorted out. But here’s another silly Alune post for y’all!

Don’t get me wrong, Alune is very good with strategy and thinks well on her feet, but math? Thinking AHEAD? Not her style, that’s why she had Eelvi do all the thinking for her while she headbutts her enemies-

Alune’s been a coffee addict since her early adult years. Due to needing to burn so much energy she has rn wear herself out, but if she doesn’t do it enough she will sleepwalk. Her sleepwalking has her waking up feeling tired and not well rested, so it’s basically a never ending cycle of caffeine for her.

First Alune question! And I am SO STOKED to answer and ramble about my silly gal!!

I’ll go one partner at a time in order! (Recu is the only one of her partners that belongs to me, just FYI!)

Eelvi: first partner. Alune and Eelvi are in the same brood and grew up together, while Alune was the broodleader, Eelvi was her rightwing (or second in command). As kids, they butt heads CONSTANTLY as Eelvi being smarter than her thought he knew what was best for the brood, causing him to defy her authority; this is where most of their conflict came from. Eelvi got colder as he grew up, believing everyone in his brood was incompetent, and that if they didn’t listen to him, why stick around? Alune felt the same way, deeply frustrated with him or listening, and being too proud and stubborn to listen to his ideas she dismissed him. She didn’t want to appear as if she didn’t know what she was doing or as if she couldn’t lead her brood like her mothers led theirs. The two grew further apart, and both were sent on solo missions to blow off steam awhile after they reached adulthood and were on the warship. Alune returned from hers fine, but Eelvi sustained a critical injury, a large slash wound from his face all the way down his chest, unknown if he would survive. This was a wake up call from Alune, and she vowed to do everything in her power to help him recover; even though they hadn’t gotten along in the past, that was still her broodmate. Eelvi pulled through, and Alune was there at his bedside through the entire rehabilitation process, from helping him learn to speak again to tending to every need and doing his paperwork and chores for him. Her kindness slowly allowed him to thaw and lean on her, and as he learned to lean on her, they learned to understand one another, and much eventually blossomed into a deep love for one another. The two are inseparable and are deadly in combat, his stoicness and level head balance out Alune’s recklessness and anger. And Alune’s kindness and social skills balance out Eelvi’s lack of social awareness, as he still struggles with proper social interaction.

Scabren: second partner. Alune and Scabren were also broodmates who are very close, both massive jokesters. Scabren admired their broodleader greatly and grew up with a love for fashion, making clothes for all of their broodmates. However, they weren’t as social as Alune was and preferred to stick to their hobbies, leading them to be a target of abuse of an older tarcadian named Dinreh, who was a few broods above him and reaching adulthood. Dinreh was put on trial and sentenced appropriately due to Scabren confessing what happened to Alune, who took immediate action to keep her broodmate safe. By this time, Scabren was already dating Recu (who I will dive into next). After Dinreh’s banishment, it wasn’t enough for her, and she went after Dinreh and attempted to kill her, but was unsuccessful and was almost killed herself until Eelvi stepped in and finished her off. Alune being one of the few people Scabren trusted with their trauma was the start of something deeper, as Alune stayed by their side throughout their mental recovery. She was a safe person for them to go to, and she always knew how to cheer them up since they had the same sense of dirty humor. It was a relationship that same to be when Alune offered to see if dating would work out since they were so close already, and they’ve been together since! They started to date Eelvi not too long after them and Alune got together.

Recu: third partner. Recu was Scabren’s partner first before dating Eelvi, and then finally Alune (Alune, Eelvi, Recu, and Scabren are all dating each other). They’re a royal class a few broods below Alune’s brood, as a royal class they were responsible for the archives, keeping track of records and documentation about family trees, deaths, births, and much more. They’re the nibling to the king, which is why their duties are different than a lot of other royal classes. They’ve always been very skittish and scared ever since when they were a redeyes (basically a teen), they and another broodmate snuck out of the nursery, and they watched their broodmate get brutally mauled by a beast in the wilderness (they personally were not attacked, and their broodmate did survive). They were always very close with Scabren, whenever they would have group playtime with multiple broods they would always hangout together, basically, them and Scabren were our version of high school sweethearts. With how close they are they interacted with Alune quite often, and they grew fond of her confidence and leadership, while she and Eelvi fell in love with the sweet, shy, bookish royal class, and not too long after Scabren was added to the relationship, Recu joined in.

Rtexea (RT): fourth partner. Alune and RT grew up absolutely DESPISING each other. RT always hated how smug she was and saw her as egotistical and LOVED to push her buttons. Alune on the other hand would get aggravated about him pushing her buttons and repeatedly the two had physical altercations. Things only changed after the passing of Alune’s broodmate Eligana. After the two get stranded in space together, thinking they don’t have much time left, they’re able to find common ground and eventually get rescued. From there, the two are able to get along and become good friends, eventually becoming partners after a LOT of teasing from their respective partners about how they’d flirt with each other but neither of them picking up the signals (RT’s partner is named Moseo, and he’s separate from Aline’s relationships)

If there’s one character that truly brings me comfort, it’s Alune. Technically, the species she’s from isn’t mine, however I have essentially dominated the species by almost single handedly making enough OCs to fill the entire population-

But that’s besides the point-

Alune is a tarcadian, a warrior who can turn into a bird (her specifically a harpy eagle), her sole purpose to crush her enemies: the Nervemites.

As a soldier class, she’s very skilled with a variety of weapons, but her primary ones are good ol’ throwing knives (don’t be surprised, they pack a punch with spikes that deploy once they hit their target!)

Alune is around 7 feet tall and is on the average height/borderline shorter end of the height spectrum for her species, however she makes up for her height in muscle. She’s a very strong tarcadian, being able to take on someone 3 times her strength/size, as her individual ability is super strength!

Regarding other aspects of her appearance, the horns are not part of her head, but rather something her species get made for themselves when they achieve a major accomplishment - it is standard for tarcadians to eventually all have a set of horns made unique to the individual.

Alune has a tattoo on the tops of each of her hands, her right being the letter G, and the left being the letter M in her language, these are the first letters of her mother’s names.

Alune’s name comes from the word ‘Lunar’!

Alune is the most loyal friend you could ever have. Her confidence, quick thinking, and bold demeanor made her the perfect leader for her brood (a term for a group of tarcadians of similar age that grow up together). Since she as a nestling, she was always wanting to take charge, and while one do the younger ones of her brood, she was incredibly resilient and was never afraid to speak her mind about what she wanted.

While her confidence is infectious, it makes her significantly more stubborn than her peers, causing her to butt heads with others and having trouble admitting when she’s struggling, or when she’s wrong. This has unfortunately been her biggest obstacle as a person, causing her to break multiple personal relationships because she cannot set her ego to the side to hear someone else’s perspective.

Alune isn’t the smartest tool in the shed, while she’s very quick in combative situations, she isn’t as book smart as she is street smart (but don’t tell her that, because she’s always right-) She struggles with dysgraphia, and has to do all of her paperwork on a tablet instead of with a paper and pen.

While stubborn, Alune is a very strong, and deeply caring individual. The wellbeing of her friends, family, brood mates, and colleagues is incredibly important to her. She’s a great shoulder to lean on, someone you can always go to if you need to cry; this gives her a sense of responsibility that she’s responsible for the physical along with mental wellbeing for those around her. She’s Carrie’s a lot of unnecessary weight on her shoulders that she will never disclose due to her pride, after all if she isn’t the perfect Alune everyone sees her as.. who is she?

So much of Aline’s confidence is an act she puts on to not worry her crew, and most of the time she is a pretty energetic individual.. but there’s those particular nights when she thinks about her purpose in life, in the war.. and questions her very existence. If this is was all she was made for, did it really mattered if she lived or died? But she’d never do it, her brood counts on her, and she never breaks a promise. She’s frequently seen as reliable and someone most people can trust and count on.

A lot of people would call Alune egotistical and some have said she’s narcissistic, but her response? “Is it really so bad to strive to be the best at something?”

“It’s funny how the most confident individuals can also be some of the most insecure,” one of her peers noted.

She’s a very flirtatious individual who has 4 lovely partners that she absolutely adores names Recu, Eelvi, Scabren, and Rtexea; however they do not adore her dirty jokes (well… one does-)

Alune suffers from sleep walking.. and fighting, as with her super strength it causes excess energy that she has to keep up by eating massive amounts of food and exercising frequently. If she doesn’t get out the pent up energy, she’s prone to kicking her partners out of bed, or wandering around the ship.

Some of her quirks include the following:

- Chirping when her ear is pulled

- Sneezing if you boop her nose

- Upper lip twitching when annoyed or focused

- Chewing pens

- Unable to sit still, needs compression on various parts of her body to be able to focus

- Clicking and whistling to show she’s thinking or surprised

- Cocking an eyebrow when annoyed

- Voice breaks/cracks that are almost whistle-like when making high pitched sounds, laughing, or speaking in higher pitched tones

I’ve never found a proper voice claim for Alune, on the account that I can’t find a voice that would account for her little voice cracks that she gets (especially when she laughs, her voice cracks/breaks when her laugh reaches higher pitches)

Alune’s bird form is a harpy eagle named Goldwing, which tarcadians describe being in their bird forms more like driving a car than being the bird itself.

Alune is a character I go whenever I need someone to lean on, because out of everyone, she’s the one I know I can count on without any fear of judgement.

Hi! I’m Cereal! My pronouns are she/they, and I identify as pan and nonbinary. I’m 19 years old and from the United States (ew 😒). I’m going to college to gemology, and my fashion style is alternative, a mix of goth and a little bit of punk, but I use the label alternative personally.
