Tokay Gecko (Gekko gecko), entered the house to snack on tasty winged termites, family Gekkonidae, Bali, Indonesia

They make cute, and surprisingly loud, high-pitched barks.

This is a large gecko, growing (on average) to a total length of around 30 cm (12 inches)!

A: "my parents will scold me"

this is an actual conversation.

The sheer lack of emotion sent through the second message haunts me. They've gotten used to it.

Parents are supposed to care for their children and provide them with a nice life that allows them to progress forward in society. But here they are, my friend's parents, scolding my friend for enjoying for two days in a row. I wonder what sort of emotions my friend is having. Revenge towards their parents? I would hope so. Considering everything they must have gone through, it is natural for revenge and/or vengeance to bubble up. They've already accepted this is how it's going to be, at least for a few years.

I really do hope they get an escape from all this and get time to actually live life.
