They stand there for a while, without uttering a word and keep staring at your penguin-like appearance. You are restless for them to do something. They just keep staring in your eyes.

In an instant, they unzip your jacket and wrap their arms around you. Their warm embrace surprises you and you instantly sink into their chest. You feel much better. The warmth of their body is comforting. It's been quite a while since you've felt this. You feel like crying from the pain but at the same time, your partners' warm hug is so comfortable that it is holding back the tears for you. “Our research provides evidence that friendships among water buffalo can form among individuals with similar behaviors. These findings offer valuable insights into the evolution of friendships,” said Dr. Debottam Bhattacharjee, a Postdoc in CityUHK’s Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health. “Personalities and social relationships will be potentially important for understanding how buffalo use their habitats during different seasons (wet and dry) of the year with fluctuating food resources.”
