Imagine venti pulling you into the rain while laughing merrily like usual, tugging you close to him. Putting one of his hand on your waist and the other on your hand, taking a step sideway and began dancing in the rain. He continues to laugh as he spins you around. The droplets of water falling from the sky soak both of your clothes, making you both drench from head to toe but the two of you seemingly don’t care. Its like you two are the only one in the world as you both continue to dance without a care.

summary: for the first time, kazuha considers staying

it’s hot. even the breeze that blows is warm; which makes the tension in the air between you and the inazuma samurai. you both sit in the grass wordlessly, deep in thought. your eyes wander to his hands, covered in bandages. his hands were always covered in small cuts from his sword — you had become his personal doctor, patching up the small cuts.

you gently hold his hand in yours, cleaning a cut on his index finger. you look up to meet his gaze and notice a small grin on his face.

“what?” you ask, returning your eyes back to his hand. “it seems you find something about this funny.”

“no,” he chuckles. “not… funny, per se. it’s just… we’ve gotten to know each other quite well even though we only see one another when i’m in here.”

“mmm,” you hum, securing the bandage on his finger. “so your recklessness is the source of our friendship?”

“i guess,” he says, the grin not fading.

you pause for a moment, his hand in yours. you look at the small scars on his hands. many of them were probably from him missing his own sheath, but you could tell some of them had stories.

“honestly, i do try to be more careful but… it doesn’t seem to work.” he says, pulling his hand away. his eyes shift away from you.

now, you’d do anything to see that grin one more time. you hated yourself for taking that dumb grin for granted.

“is this where we part ways?” he asks softly.

you can’t bring yourself to look at him. “i think so.”

he stands up, wiping his hands on his pants before outstretching his hand towards you. you grab it, and finally look at him. his words were so sad and left your heart feeling so heavy, yet the soft look on his face stayed unchanged.

“i hate that our last moments together feel so sad… it feels quite tragic, no?” he holds onto your hand, squeezing it.

“it’s hard to make departing feel happy.” you whisper.

he takes you into his arms, holding you tighter than ever before. “i’m sorry things ended up this way.”

after a few moments, he lets you go. he looks at you like he’s taking in every detail; a mental picture that he can look at whenever he yearns to feel your warmth. and then he finally starts to walk away.

however, it’s only a few steps. he stops in his tracks, and for a brief moment you think he’ll turn back around for one final embrace. but he keeps his back to you. “tell me to stay.” he says.

“what?”

“tell me to stay, and i’ll stay.”

you want him to stay. every fiber of your being is telling you to say the word. let him know that you want him here. but it’s all too selfish. he had chosen to leave even after you met him. it was a choice you had to respect. he had things to do, places to see, and you unfortunately couldn’t join him. so you take a deep breath and close your eyes, and hope that he’ll be gone when you open them.

and he is.

lightning streaks through the stormy clouds, a jagged flash of blinding white threatening to rip the sky in half. rain pours down mercilessly from the heavens, almost seeming furious with the intensity with which they sting your sky, blurring your vision as you clutch your sword tightly. the wooden planks of the dock beneath you creak loudly, appearing ready to crack underfoot from how much they've rotted over time. kazuha's white hair with its familiar vein of red stands out against the darkness surrounding you both, giving you the impression of an angel as he looks out the monstrous waves crashing repeatedly onto the shore with an indescribable expression. "we're finally leaving," he says, unperturbed by the strength of the wind howling around the two of you. his hand still aches from the burn he received from his friend's dying vision, that much you can tell from how he keeps it sheathed in the soft material of his clothes. yet suddenly, he pushes you aside and tilts his head, just in time for an arrow to go whizzing past both of you, so close it nearly grazes your arm. kazuha sighs, eyes beginning to gleam as red as rubies in the inky night, "i should have known the shogun wouldn't let our passage be that easy."

the two of you whip your weapons out, though you don't miss how kazuha winces, his hand still hurting from the injury. "leave them to me, 'zuha. get on the boat," you instruct, gesturing to the small boat besides you that's rocking violently from the motion of the waves. your boyfriend's expression tenses, "no, i can't do that! i'm not going to leave you here!" you lean closer to him, cupping his face with one hand while the other grips the hilt of your sword tightly. searching his coppery eyes, you press a kiss against his lips, "i love you, 'zuha. and you know me, i'll find a way to you." kazuha's gaze meets yours as raindrops soak his face and trickle down his cheeks, mimicking the tears he never lets fall no matter how much he mourns, and he whispers so softly you can barely catch it over the sound of thunder cracking, "i don't want to lose anyone anymore." "you won't be losing me, 'zuha. c'mon, don't you believe in how you taught me to fight?" you chuckle, nuzzling against his cheek to try a coax a smile out of him, even as the sound of the kanjobugyo draws ever closer. "please, come back to me," he murmurs under his breath, cursing his wound a million times over and hoping against hope that you'll succeed and somehow make it back to him in one piece, "i love you." "i promise, and i love you too, kazuha. now go!" you kiss him once more, embracing the passion and urgency of the action before running off with a wave. kazuha can only watch helplessly as you run off into the fray, his little boat set to sail away into the intimidating ocean from the force with which you kicked it after untying the thread docking it to the pier.

"y/n, you have committed severe treachery against inazuma. surrender immediately, and your punishment will be lessened," the voice of kujou sara states coolly, one hand caressing her sword. "bla bla bla, whatever. i'm not planning on surrendering anytime soon," you retort, "plus, isn't surrendering going against inazuma's entire principle of eternity?" sara's eyes widen slightly at your impertinence, but she quickly schools her expression back into one of normalcy, "where is kaedehara kazuha? he has been declared a wanted criminal." "kazuha? oh, he's long gone," you curl your lips into a smirk as surprise washes over her face from your lie. you just need to stall long enough for kazuha to get away, that's it. "that means he has disobeyed the sakoku decree, and you too are guilty for assisting him. upon being taken into custody, you will be separated from your vision per the orders of the immortal shogun," sara quickly says, her gaze darting to the gleaming vision at your hip. your sword glitters as you infuse it with elemental energy and prepare yourself for a battle, "aw, that isn't very nice of her, is it? giving the gift of a vision only to take it away. rather rude, if you ask me." "y/n, you don't have to do this. if you submit to us and hand over your vision, we don't need to resort to violence," sara gives one final attempt at neutralising the situation, but you aren't changing your mind. from your peripheral vision, you realise that kazuha's boat isn't visible anymore, which means he should be in international waters by now, where the laws of inazuma are no longer applied. whispering a silent prayer up to celestia, you beam, "i'm not going down without a fight. if you want my vision, come and get it." and as a dozen kanjobugyo soldiers rush at you, you know there's no chance you're getting out of here alive, so you're left with nothing to do except offer an apology to kazuha for breaking your promise and toss your vision into the air with all your strength - even in your last moments you refuse to let the tyrannical ruler win.

kazuha's sitting down in his boat, enjoying the peace of the sunny day that has come after the horrific storm, although there's a knot in his stomach he can't quite quell, no matter how much he tries to stay positive. his mind keeps wandering to thoughts of you and your safety, even as he tries to think about how much fun he'll have when you meet him in liyue. at least until something drops out of the sky into his lap, and when he sees what it is his heart sinks into his chest. it's a vision which he instinctively knows is yours, but would have recognised anyway from the initials you carved onto the corner. it's truly a miracle it managed to reach him, like your dying wish had propelled its energy all the way across the sea. almost as if it knows it has reached its target, the vision fizzles softly, sparks flying off it as the colour begins to fade.

and that's when kazuha finally lets himself cry, because he knows you'll never come back to him now.

GUYS OMG AN INTERESTING THEORY JUST CROSSED MY MIND. HEAR ME OUT:

(Note: sorry for the random disappearance, I promise to post more often, ALSO SPOILERS FROM CHAP. 79)

Okay okay so, after chapter 79 we can all confirm that Tsukasa of the Red House is the actual REAL one and the one of the school is a sort of FAKE one.

We know that after more than 1 year and half Tsukasa (fake one) appeared out of nowhere, so when Amane was about 5.

You are might wondering: “yeah uh, WHAT’S THE POINT GIRL?”

Ahem, you remember the Star Festival Arc (chapter 37-38)? Amane and “Tsukasa” were CLEARLY older than the ones we saw in the Red House Arc, thus confirms that the fake Tsukasa was already there... and yeah, this was pretty obvious though.

So the fake one was there with Amane, spending the evening together until he left him for 3 hours... BUT he likely came back at some point, don’t you think?

AND SO, what if he came back exactly after Amane hanged the tags at the bamboo tree? Imagine it this way: Amane finished hanging the tag, staring at it with the hope of this coming true someday...

Yeah but nah.

Guys, think about it a little more, the tree is a just a popular rumor that became an actual and truthful one in the Far Shore, thus in the supernatural world.

I doubt the tree itself really granted Amane’s wish back then... and this leads to the point of this whole post:

chapter 79 was an huge reveal that, indeed, fake Tsukasa may be an extension of the spirit of the Red House. And, of course, as its extension he reads the minds of people whom want their wish granted and grants them in return with a price (just like with Kunishige-kun).

We know, Amane’s wish changed thanks to Nene’s appearance, this way leading him to wish to see her again in a near future.

Tsukasa already knew that as he read his mind back then, and what happen when he does so?

YEP, HE GRANTS IT GUYS.

Just like in chapter 79 with Kunishige, I suppose “Tsukasa” did the exact thing with Amane: wouldn’t this be a good huge plottwist for the manga though? (Since we’ve already had a LOT of them, geez xd)

Amane’s deepest and dearest wish was not to be an astronaut anymore, frankly, he already gave up on that wish as soon as he saw Nene, as soon as he realized there was something way more important for him to wish for.

Tsukasa knew that.

He freaking knew.

And this hurts guys... I’m in tears.

Think of it this way: the reason why Amane killed “Tsukasa”, the reason why his fate changed again, the reason why there was the messy family death, wouldn’t it make sense if this all were by the power of that house? By the extension of that power, thus the fake Tsukasa?

Amane’s fate was already changed by real Tsukasa’s wish which the house GRANTED, it would make terribly sense if Amane’s fate was AGAIN changed with his wish GRANTED by the sort of extension of the house, fake Tsukasa!

The house is basically playing an HUGE role here, constantly changing Amane’s fate where, at the end, it ironically led to his initial destiny: dying.

Aside that, I think the house kind of teased the real Tsukasa, the price wasn’t only him disappearing, I think it had a way bigger thing all planned out, that’s why the Yugi twins backstory is so depressing and incredibly heartbreaking.

After all, if you think of it, Amane’s wish was granted by the time he met Nene when he was alive, so “Tsukasa” made his wish come true that very day.

7th July 1964 when he changed paths, thus wish.

18th July 1969 when his long awaited wish came true.

This means he granted Amane’s wish only 6 years later (supposing it went like that).

((I want to point out that time travels don’t happen randomly, there’s always a reason why they are happening. As when that door led Nene to past Amane’s class: it could’ve led her literally somewhere else but, surprise! Straight to past Amane’s class... coincidence? Or when she got hit by a bull, why making her being hit if it wasn’t for actual important plot reasons?))

And what happens next?

The price!

As sad as it sounds, the price of his wish was maybe his own life and not only his but of the whole family whom lived in that cursed house... hm, something here is missing, why taking everyone’s lives (including fake Tsukasa’s life itself) if the house could’ve just took only Amane’s life as a price?

Something else must have happened for sure and we have to wait a little more sadly. We still need to know a lot about this shady situation and the cursed Red House, BUT HOWEVER Amane’s initial wish at the Star Festival Arc might be a good clue which led to the dramatic events and Amane’s sudden change of fate (again), like it makes so much sense.

Or else why putting that panel if it wasn’t effective for the plot? Not only for romantic purposes but even for something way bigger...
