had a really nice trip to Góry Stołowe :) more here
I found this post I’d made a while ago and decided to animate it:
BAPTISM
in which cinder attempts to drown her mother in lava (do not tag as kin/oc)
Watching documentaries and video essays while painting my commissions has the weirdest side effect: I go reopen a piece I was working on while watching a Napoleonic war diary reading a few days ago and suddenly and I am viscerally transported into the mind of a tragic French soldier in a brutal Russian winter while rendering a bunny boy’s cute little nose
Simple as it may be, it could be a coat befitting an admiral.
Slammed this out in a few hours as a personal break piece because this NPC owns my heart.
There’s a fic on fanfiction(.)net that I’ve kept tabs on for years to see if it’s been updated or not. While I’m no longer even in the fandom it’s written for, it just has one of the greatest storylines I’ve ever read. Last time it was updated was 2011.
The other day, I decided to reread the entire thing and leave a very in-depth review of what I thought of each chapter. I also mentioned how I started reading it when I was 13 and am now 21, but always came back to see if it was ever finished because I loved it so dearly.
Today, said author sent me a private message saying that her analytics showed that the story was still getting views even after all these years, but no one ever bothered to leave reviews other than “update soon!!!”, so she never felt motivated enough to finish it. She said that me reviewing every single chapter with lengthy paragraphs made her cry and meant the world to her. She also mentioned that she felt encouraged to write the two remaining chapters needed to complete the story and that she would send me a message the night before she updates the fic.
I’m literally sobbing. I’m so excited :’)
Please always remember to leave a review when reading fanfiction!!! It means a lot to a writer.
Ok ok ok I knowwwwwwww I won't shut up about Stray but I just realized that the Slums was my favorite part of the game and lot of other players favorite part
Because that was the lowest tier of society, both robots and humans, and it's dirty and poor, and it's where all the trash from the upper levels gets tossed
BUT it's the most beautiful in that both societies formed a community despite the horrible conditions and dreaming of it all someday being better
Both robots and humans filled the darkness with light and songs, they nutured plants that would never see sunlight, and they loved each other 😭💕💕
The robots remembered the good things about humans and adopted that as part of their worldview, and all that love was passed on. It was never wasted and it was never in vain.
Despite the horrible conditions down there, they found a way to still continue on with hope, they found meaning in each other and making the best of what they had, and that makes the Slums more beautiful that the upper city
"he was all alone for so long. and then... a little cat appeared." shut the fuck up this is literally what everything ever is about forever
There's something so human about people making mods for Stray so the cat is looks like someone else's, even taking requests or making one when someone asks if there's one that looks like their cat. And personally I feel like that's part of the story Stray wants to tell. Human kindness is such a beautiful thing and this game really shows it off. Both in and outside of the game ❤️
I miss them…

me in planning stages of writing: this fucks. this is gonna be so fun.
me the minute i sit down to write: language is an unwieldy cudgel we use to beat the human experience to death in an attempt at ever communicating fully with another being. i wish intelligent life had never evolved. i want to go back to the cell stage like in spore
The Tangled the Series cast if they were characters in Hades !
Shout out to fanfic writers that don’t get put on rec lists.

Your fics are just as much a labor of love.

15/7 hu tao birth 🥺🌰✨🎂
Unmute !
Everyone shut up and look at Lala.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again but it is absolutely an example of civilizational inadequacy that only deaf people know ASL
“oh we shouldn’t teach children this language, it will only come in handy if they [checks notes] ever have to talk in a situation where it’s noisy or they need to be quiet”
I’m paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD
The characterization in the last episode that I'm still the most excited about a day later, is Regular Guy Orym using all of the espionage and fieldcraft knowledge at his disposal to keep himself and Laudna safe and support the mission. Liam can be a powerhouse but he's so understated 90% of the time. He emotes lightly, says what he means in a few words, and as Orym he prioritizes asking everyone else questions over volunteering info himself. He's not secretive, just subtle.
Orym's been out on his own for several years after the attack, moving on deep and principled impulse along a storyline that, to him, must feel like it's flowing in the opposite direction of anything he can remember wanting. This little dude is an exercise in love as endurance and he sleeps draped over his friends and checks in on them in quiet moments, but he's ALSO a capital-E Elite soldier who earned a place alongside magical powerhouses with nothing but 3 ft of pure, concentrated whoop-ass. Orym wakes up at 5am every day and rolls over for pushups. He gets in front of you when he's rocking 3hp. He worked at the peak of his discipline for years and has travelled the world and he's still in his physical prime.
Orym texts you good luck right before your big exam even though you only mentioned what class period it was in once. I really like to see that guy take charge when the world comes after his non-negotiables. Unmovable object, making flower crowns, standing between one of strongest CR characters of all time and whatever threatens her... yeah, we're here for it, Liam. Can't wait to have my skull split open by 6 words of dialogue 100 episodes from now. When the Hells go to the moon, my vote for mission commander is cast.
I am NOT immune to characters bandaging/stitching/cleaning each others wounds
“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”
i wanted to post them together :]
gotta love the 70s
I think there’s something so inherently human about the reaction to Techno’s death. We cried, we sat in disbelief, and then we created. There’s so much art already out there, barely 24 hours after the announcement, celebrating everything he did for us and telling him to rest easy, saying so long in our own little way be that drawing or writing stupid little posts like this one. And supporting each other. Telling other people in the fandom that it’s okay, their grief is valid, we’ll get through this hand in loveable hand. We’re collectively mourning and in a sad little way I think that’s beautiful. That 12 million people around the world can mourn the same man, in millions of different ways from millions of different places, because of how much he mattered. I think that’s what mourning is. People coming together to say goodbye, to say rest easy and so long and I hope god did hesitate and the universe said I love you in as many different ways as we know to articulate.
I have seen some people saying that they think people should stop, or will stop, creating art and stories about Technoblade because he died, and I am glad that is not the majority idea, but I have a story I wanted to tell because of this to explain where my philosophy on this comes from. A story about, surprisingly, Joe hills and a much younger Rose.
Once, about two years ago I was writing my first fanfiction and I asked Joe if he had anything to say to the Hermitcraft fanfiction writers. I think that I would not ask such a thing now, the line between what area of fan content and thoughts should be shared with the content creators is a blurred and moving line and I know for certain that that question sits on the blur, but I am nonetheless glad for the answer Joe gave me.
I don’t remember what he said exactly, and I would never be able to phrase it as well as Joe phrased it, but in summary his response, mixed with how I internalized, was basically this: The hermits are essentially folk heroes, that the fact we live in a time where folk heroes can be talked to is remarkable, but that does not change this fact: folk heroes have not control over the stories people tell about them.
In conclusion, Technoblade is a folk hero, not was, is. The man who inspired the stories is gone, but the stories will not change, nor should they. People will continue to tell stories about the same hero, whether or not he is alive because the stories are about folk heroes and folk heroes live till they are forgotten.
I've already seen some artists and writers saying they will stop drawing Technoblade and not write about him now to respect him.
Don't.
This is how you not forget people. We, the community, are Technoblade's legacy. We are here to make sure he is never forgotten and to show our love for him.
Of course you should take a break when it's too much right now. But please don't stop drawing fanart of him. Don't stop writing about C!Technoblade. Don't stop writing sbi stories like passerine. (Unless the other sbi-members say they will uncomfortable about this now)
I am sure Technoblade loved this about us, he liked the fanart you all drew of him, his characters, his friends. I am sure he loved knowing what awesome stories people wrote about the Blood God who never dies.
We are the voices and we are here to make sure this legend will be remembered.
