I Grew Up With Some Very Strange Tarot Traditions, And I Wonder How Many Others Did Too.

I grew up with some very strange tarot traditions, and I wonder how many others did too.

Your deck must be a gift.

You cannot accept money for readings. The only thing you may accept in exchange is other, equal magic, or food.

Cards ought be read by candlelight.

Wash your hands 3 times before reading.

Readings must be done in person, because the subject must cut the deck.

Readings are best done inebriated, to blur the veil.

Cards should remain bound when not in use.

Always perform a reading for yourself before doing one for another person, to focus yourself.

When you read by candlelight, you cannot blow the candles out. You have to snuff them instead. Or, better, have someone else snuff them (but not blow them out).

I think the two that people disagree with most are not buying your own deck and conducting readings without the person present. But this is how I learned, and I wonder who else learned the same way.

MEDICINE THAT YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT

Ladies, listen up.

If you are pregnant, there’s a medication that you absolutely should never take. It’s called misoprostol, sold under the brand name Cytotec in the USA. It’s a medication used to treat ulcers.

This medicine can cause you to lose your pregnancy, especially if you are less than 10 weeks pregnant! So you definitely want to avoid taking this medication. Here is a pdf that will tell you all of the ways you should not take this medication if you are pregnant, and what to do if you accidentally take this medication while pregnant. It can be dangerous! Remember - if you’re having a miscarriage, always seek medical assistance. You may be at risk for hemorrhage or infection.

While I’m giving out useful advice, ON A COMPLETELY UNRELATED NOTE…

You definitely should never use a website like this one. These websites are illegal. In the US, it is illegal to possess a prescription medication without a prescription, even if was purchased in a country where a prescription is not required. Sometimes, websites like this can even be kind of shady! They can have complex checkout procedures that require you to watch Youtube videos like this one to figure out how to do it. So definitely avoid sites like this.

Make sure to share this information with everybody you know!

No because I need to know. When I check the box for organ donation does that include skin. Does it actually include this use or is that just for specifically people donating their bodies "for science"

Because if it does, I'm getting that shit removed from my ID tomorrow. Take my heart, lungs, whatever. I'm not becoming a males surgically constructed fuck hole. No.

Remember this system would actually probably rely on the filianic year, So you would have to google the weekday of march 21st (or any other 1st of a filianic month) before your birthday. Which for you specifically would actually be Sai Raya

On the Chapel of Our Mother God website, it's been said that "the Janya ruling the year of one's birth is considered as significant as the ruling animal of one's birth-year in Chinese astrology" - how on earth can I determine which Janya rules my birth year? I'm still trying to understand the years and days in Deanism/Filianism and I don't know how to determine this for a year that was 3 decades ago.

Rayati! Thank you for sending me this ask, because while I knew about this vaguely I never actually bothered to think about it that much, and it really is interesting to me.

If I recall correctly, the Janya who rules over a certain year depends on the day of the week that year begins. For example, a year that began on Sunday, Rayadi, was ruled by Sai Raya. So a quick Google search of "What day of the week did [birth year] start?" should work.

For anyone who needs a refresher of the Filianic week, here you go:

Rayadi (Sunday,) ruled by Sai Raya

Candredi (Monday,) ruled by Sai Candrë

Vikhedi (Tuesday,) ruled by Sai Vikhë

Matidi (Wednesday,) ruled by Sai Mati

Thamedi (Thursday,) ruled by Sai Thamë

Sucridi (Friday,) ruled by Sai Sushuri

Rhavedi (Saturday,) ruled by Sai Rhavë

My birth year began on a Sucridi, making Sai Sushuri the ruler of my birth year. Neat!

There are countless people in both Coal Mining and Sex work that ONLY do it because they feel it is the only way to feed their children. People need money "for themselves" to live.

Going down the TERF rabbit hole. Apparently they don't just hate trans women. They oppose pornography, sex workers, and bdsm. Oy...
