when The Wanderer starts playing on diamond city radio
i know sia doesnt want to be seen but was all this necessary???😩😩😩
Greed and materialism don’t exist in the Institute. (okay)
The Advanced Systems division had plans for a vehicle like this. It ended up being more trouble than it was worth. (I think this in reference to the submarine)
The Institute’s founders frowned on television. They thought it was a detriment to science. (choosing to interpret this as “grad students were spending too many nights getting high and watching loony tunes)
Some of the scientists enjoy filmed entertainment. I have no use for it. (INSTITUTE MOVIE NIGHT IS CANON)
Why store corpses? This space could be put to more efficient use. (institute cremates?)
I was told a great writer once lived here. I’m not sure how anyone that wasn’t a scientist can be considered great. (for a long time, i interpreted this as “the institute frowns upon creative expression” but then i realized that x6 is actually just way too into scientists. missed storyline potential: rescue this awful man from the institute)
The medicine that was practiced here is almost barbaric compared to the Institute’s advances.
A place for infant humans. I’ve only seen one once. It was unsettling. (in response to a nursery. assuming the institute has a communal nursery.)
We sometimes find older-model synth parts in places like this. Scavengers are a constant threat to our surface work teams. (I think this one triggers in a warehouse.)
Doctor Karlin thinks the world’s oceans are probably filled with huge, mutated sea creatures.
People killed each other for food here. The Institute will never have those kinds of problems.
The SRB monitors all radio broadcasts in the Commonwealth. We think the Railroad might be sharing coded messages that way.
A single Institute holotape could hold all of the text in this library.
All of these computers put together wouldn’t match the processing power of one Institute terminal.
I’ve never understood this game. If the objective is to destroy the pins, why not just shoot them? (no bowling in the institute? or, just as likely, synths aren’t allowed to have fun.)
The Robotics division did something like this once. (I think this one is in reference to the place where they race and bet on robots)
One of the scientists in Advanced Systems tried to figure out how this boat could have ended up here. Eventually, he just gave up (in reference to the uss constitution)
The older sections of the Institute look a lot like this. (corvega)
I used to come here for target practice. (the amphitheater. i wonder how often coursers are allowed to go to the surface? do they mostly stay up there? or do they mostly stay in the institute?)
We send scavenger teams to places like this to collect chemicals.
Learning from books? Not exactly efficient
In the Institute, we’ve advanced far beyond books. Children learn from interactive terminals.
They’re plotting something. I just know it.
the lone wanderer’s first encounter with James outside of the Vault 101

“By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. Remember, O Lord, The Children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem who said, "Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation.” O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed. How happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.“
This should have been a response to Blind Betrayal
what a shame
in case anyone in the deeks tag/that follows me is having a bad day i compiled this ♥
How do you draw blood? I always make mine look like they got ketchup on them
It depends on what kind of blood we’re talking about. Not like I’m a specialist or anything but the color and consistency of blood depends on where it’s taken from (veins, arteries, organs), how it was applied (splatter, drip, soak), when it was applied (old blood goes black) and what kind of material it is applied to (human skin, scales, fur, fabric, etc). Now obviously I’m not known for photo-realistic rendering but it’s good to know the differences anyway.I am still experimenting with drawing blood but here are some different things I’ve done so far:
This is just your average blood stuff on skin, fabric and fur. I sometimes combine random splatter brushes but I almost always end up using kyletwebster‘s watercolor brushes. (And some other ones mostly from his megapack.)I do separate layers because older, dried blood turns dark with time while fresh blood still has a shine to it. I try to keep it balanced between clean edges (drops, pouring) and smeared parts. I think my style allows me to use both but for a cel-shaded look I’d do something like that last orc picture.^My favorite cartoony blood is definitely from Venture Bros. It’s nicely stylized and easy to animate.
Another thing I like drawing is dynamic blood squirts! As you can see on the second image, I draw the little triangle-shaped drips along an action line, complete with its own inside-shadows and shines. Then I select it part-by-part (not all at once!) and motion blur each part in the direction of the sprinkle.
And finally, here’s a thing I did last week. Blood bath!!Of course you don’t have to use a fancy grid to transform it accurately, you can just draw a quick perspective plane for yourself. This drawing was a quickie so I didn’t bother to add real details and shine to the blood but if you want to make it look chunkier you can thicken it by giving it a bit of a shadow.
So yeah, uh… I hope this helped somewhat. I’m still figuring stuff out myself. :)For the full size images please see my blood tag!

I know It has been brought up and discussed already, but I still can't decide for myself. In my F!SS playthrough she's with BoS and romances Danse. In My M!SS playthrough Adam doesn't even join the BoS and destroys the Institute with the Minutemen. I wonder in what universe Danse is happier. With Sole or with the BoS? I'm afraid though that in the BoS he might be KIA before reaching the next rank, because PTSD and pushing himself so hard and so on. What do you think?
I have not seen a discussion on this before, but I very much wantto know what people have to say about this matter. However, I willput down my thoughts before I ask to see others’.
Is Danse happier with the Brotherhood of Steel (BOS) or the SoleSurvivor (Sole)?
That is a very loaded question, not even counting the part where Ineed to define the parameters of happiness in order to properlyanswer it. Lets say, for the sake of this argument, that happinessis the measure of overall quality of life as well as potential forgreatest emotional well being. We also have to consider the factthat any post Blind Betrayal (BB) dialog from Danse, concerning Sole,is skewed. Since it was based on an ending that did not actuallycome to fruition. Given these two things, let us proceed.
Firstly, is Danse happy with the BOS to begin with?
Yes and no. Danse found purpose with the BOS and with his past thismay have seemed the most content life could get. However, he neverseems to have found true comradery in anyone within the BOS, save forpossibly Cutler (deceased) and potentially Haylen, who was hissubordinate and so, not someone he could go to for strength. Thehappiest he is, is when the Prydwen arrives and when he is aboard itin general. It is, quite literally, as he quotes “the only homeI’ve ever known.” I think ultimately that is what he clings to inthe BOS. The idea that he is somewhere he belongs. That is why hegives so much of himself, why he is willing to loose all of himself,to fight for his home.
We never get a full picture of Danse’s own personal ideals, asseparate from the Brotherhood’s, only a taste of them when hisdefenses are down. He wonders if he did the right thing killingCutler when he was changed by the FEV. The BOS would not questionthis, all Super Mutants are to be destroyed. Danse is respectful ofMaxson in every way right up until BB, where he says that “Maxsonnever did like to get his hands dirty.” Implying he has somereservations about the Elder’s leadership style, if nothing else.
Danse’s duties have been taking a serious toll on him mentally andphysically, as he devotes every bit of himself to the Brotherhood. All signs indicate it is only a matter of time before something givesout and he breaks. He’d be lucky if that moment didn’t cost him hislife. Ultimately I think staying in the BOS would result in Dansebeing killed in action or eventually found unfit for duty. At whichpoint I wonder if he would have the strength to continue.
Conclusion, Danse’s overall quality of life in the BOS is fallingand does not look to be improving any time soon. There is potentialfor him to gain the rank of Sentinel, but only if he lives that long. Which again, I think is unlikely.
Secondly, is Danse happy with Sole?
Yes and no. Danse is utterly miserable at finding out he’s a synth. His identity, his life, his home all get ripped away in the span ofa few hours, leaving him an empty and broken being. If not for Sole, surely he would not get through the events of BB alive, but also hewould not have had to endure them in the first place. While I thinkit’s horrible the way Danse learns of his identity and the way thosearound him act during the crisis, except Haylen of course. I thinkthe fact that he learns who he really is incredibly important. It isa gateway to acceptance, that Danse would only walk if Sole were byhis side.
Sole cares for Danse, whether good friend or lover, at max affinitySole gives him that comradery, that link to another human soul thatDanse has never had before in his entire life. Sole has proven theywill stand up for him, someday he’ll realize that he’s worth so muchmore than he gives himself credit for.
At max affinity a romanced Danse states that he’s happier than he’sever been, found something he didn’t know he was missing, would doanything for Sole. The same could be said of Sole. So, here withthem, unlike with the BOS, Danse would be getting his effort, diligence, love and affection returned to him. Not just givinghimself away to a force that would consume him. (Again, I hesitate toput too much stock into the dialog due to it being from a technicallydifferent ending).
Being with Sole would give Danse solace and a space to find himself. Figure out who he really was, who he wanted to be. Ultimately, Ithink it would bring him peace and the ability to find happiness.
Conclusion, Danse’s overall quality of life with Sole would startlow but increase over time. There is the potential for him be themost satisfied and find substantial meaning in a deep relationshipwith Sole. Therefore, I think, given time, the path for Dansethat leads to the greatest happiness is the path that he can walkwith Sole.

Whew, so, give me your thoughts.
one time i saw someone skipping rocks and eating a sandwich along the beach and idk he just tossed his sandwich in the water and bit the rock and he just stiffened a bit but i saw him dying inside after realizing what had just happened
when Father tries to convince you to work with him but the Brotherhood of Steel has a cool blimp
FALLOUT 4 SPOILERS
I’m still scratching my head over the “synth Shaun” theory (I’m actually trying to disprove it) and so far, I still believe it’s possible.
Thanks to Nick Valentine, Kellogg, and Curie, we know it’s possible for a being’s consciousness to be placed in a synth body and inhabit it.
The original Nick Valentine had his memories placed inside the synth Nick (though I highly doubt he “volunteered” for this proceedure). In a sense, he lives on in synth form, with only a few memories of his past life. Nick Valentine was probably an early attempt to see just how closely a synth could copy a human. Perhaps Nick had too much of his own personality and was chucked out as a failure.
Because his memories were also inserted in Nick, Kellogg’s consciousness lived on in Nick as well, if only for a short time.
Then there’s Curie, a robot with limited A.I., whose consciousness is placed in a synth on life support. Once Curie enters a synthetic human frame, she is able to inhabit it and even develops more human feelings. She also shares the memories of C2 but maintains her own seperate personality regardless.
So we know that synths can act as hosts for another’s consciousness, be it human or robotic.
We also know that synths can have their memories wiped, be it for the smallest of offenses whilst living with the Institute, or after they have fled so that they can begin a new life.
I could easily see Father doing something similar to ensure that he 1) survives the cancer that he insisted on stopping treatment for (because this was his plan all along) and 2) can live out the childhood that was stolen from him without memories of his life in the Institute.
I’m still trying to figure out how he would have done it, but there’s no denying the possibility. The options exist in this world, and it makes no sense for the leader of the Institute – the place that invented this technology – to not have access to the option or make use of it.
Right now I’m thinking that maybe Father waited until the Sole Survivor left the room (while he was on his death bed) to plant his consciousness in the synth Shaun (or maybe when he died, he was actually leaving his body to enter the synth boy). Once he awoke inside the synth version of himself, he activated memories he had created for the boy and wiped his own memories. So he gets to live as the boy he never got to be, free of the Institute and finally with a loving parent.
I’m starting to believe this was his plan all along. Why make a synth version of his child self? Why test to see if the synth version and his parent could possibly form a bond?
I also think that having the synth Shaun live with Kellogg served more than one purpose. Sending synth Shaun out into the world not only served as bait to draw the Sole Survivor, but it was also a test to see if synth Shaun could 1) pass as a human and 2) survive in the broken world with only a human protector.
Once SS killed Kellogg, it was Father’s intention all along that they would take Kellogg’s place as the protector and caretaker of his synth self.
So from the SS’s perspective, the whole experiment looked cold and cruel. Why bait your parent and put them through that hell? But for Shaun, he was killing two birds with one stone. Not only did he ensure the two of you got vengeance on Kellogg, but he also ensured his own survival and that the two of you got to live as a family.
Even if none of this is true … I still like the idea a lot.

Hey, chin up. I know the night just got darker. But it won’t last forever.
